Imagine India or China or a combination of other countries got there before uncle Sam did, does certainly either cast doubt on the original 69 landing or put into perspective of how massively lucky they were to make it there and back given the tech of that era compared to present times

its not tech its budget, today NASA gets less than 0.5% of the federal budget in funding. Not all of that goes into Artemis because all the space telescopes, robotic missions, ISS, and earth science needs funding too. Meanwhile at the height of the Apollo Program the had more that 5% of the federal budget to bring to bare on putting humans on the moon. Even then development of the Apollo program and Saturn V took 9 years from start to boots on the moon. SLS has been on and off development since 2011 but the Artemis program only really began in 2017. So for having a minuscule in comparison ammount of funding compared to Apollo I think NASA is doing rather well as far as its timeline

@derp8575 we've been "on the Everest" in the '70s, threw away the hiking equipment, because we have 0 reasons to come back, close the factories that produce hiking equipment, because we have 0 purposes for that when we climb our local hill (ISS). And then, in 2024, we need to build those factories back, and then make new, better hiking equipment, because now we have reasons to come back.

maybe instead of taking money from NASA's budget, which is around 20 billion dollars per year, you should use better the money from the military budget, which is almost 900 billion dollars (40% of the worldwide military budget). Space research is useful for a lot of purposes, for example a lot of medicines and materials need to be tested without gravity on the iss, and when we will land and build a permanent base on the moon there will be a lot of experiments there too that will bring innovations also on earth.
