"It's like an extension of Fine Line" is a perfect way to describe this album! Harry is the kind of artist who truly evolves in every album. He certainly does not play the safe chord progressions or stay in a safe lane, not ever. He experiments and does whatever feels fresh, good & exciting for him at the moment. I absolutely love Fine Line, it's my favorite album of all times, but Harry's House is just so much more, production wise & artistically.

The band , other than Mitch are not on any of the studio albums, he has written with Tom, Tyler and Mitch on all 3 albums, They and others do the instruments and Harry stacks the harmonies himself. You can find Sarah occasionally in a studio version but never the other band members

It's definitely the most important song on the album - though, it almost transcends being a song at all. Truly. It's a gift Harry gave to so many of us who feel addressed in a very direct and specific way. And not only addressed but seen, validated, supported, loved, empowered, and justified in our decisions to protect ourselves. That's an incredible kindness from someone who hasn't had that experience with his family. Harry's a beautiful person with a generous spirit.

I was in love the second I heard it!
    I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
    I was hooked right away.
I still listen to it about 3 times a week.
But I also listen to the other two albums every week as well.
Yes as it was is where they were dancing in red & blue. ❤

So Harry usually works with a small team of people in the studio (Kid and Tyler are his long time collaborators and friends, Mitch writes with him) and the band comes in later for the live versions. He just went for a completely different feel in this album, he calls it Harry's House for a reason, the music, lyrics they all evoke a deep sense of belonging and domesticity. Once you're done listening, you'll discover small elements sticking to your brain, the bass in Grapejuice, the vocal harmonies in little freak, the electric guitar in Cinema... It's a brilliantly crafted album.

Harry normally doesn’t work with the full band on the albums, this isn’t new, his recording band is different from his touring band, he’s always worked with Mitch, Tom & Tyler, and I love the way the instruments are played here but I had the pleasure of listening to most of the album live and it’s even better with the band, Music For a Sushi Restaurant is insane live, and you were right about Late Night Talking, it’s so much better live than studio, Cinema and Daydreaming too, and the slower ones like Little Freak & Matilda are just beautiful with the band harmonizing with him, Sarah, Elin & Nyoh bring so much with their voices. If you ever have the opportunity to go see him you definitely should, it’s such an unforgettable and beautiful experience!! Loved the reaction

Yes and no. Sarah has MINIMAL contribution to both albums. Almost Zero. She does backing vocal in one song on the second album and she's the percussionist maybe in one song on the third. Sarah was the backbone of the live band, but harry prefors to work with a very tight group of people in the studio. Mainly Kid, Tyler and Mitch. Ocassionally 1-2 guest musicion for a song @@debrasnipes233

I haven’t gotten tired of Cinema yet! It’s only gotten better to me. And it was my favorite part of his show. And Daydreaming is totally 70’s as he sampled a track from The Brothers Johnson that was produced by Quincy Jones. So your Michael Jackson reference is not far away.

To As It Was.... it somehow represents him very well. We from the outside see him as a funny and joyful person esp. on stage. That's the melody and dancy beat. The lyrics show his inner world where things might look very different. There are reasons why he goes to therapy regularly. Luckily he's got people around in his inner circle where he can rely on and who are his safe space.
Have you guys watched the mv for Sushi restaurant? This tells a lot. Still wondering he's been allowed to do it.

😊🙏💛 At the start of, Boyfriends 🥲💛 He's singing in Urdu or Hindi, as it's been said on his actual album comments for this song 🥰 but I'd have to go look to see what he says again, when translated to English. But what he sings is done purposely, as the 'person' this song centres around, besides himself and others, Harry's intended 'audience member', will understand what he has sung and know that it is for them and that it's okay, as Harry himself isn't perfect either 😌❤️‍🩹💛.
Loved your review guys 🎉❤🎉❤ Keep em' all comin' 🙌 ❤❤

I love your reaction videos, that you ar'nt afraid to hiss and diss. I tink Harry does music he wants to do live because he loves to tour. I dont think he do all songs but they are made to sing for a live audience. Somone more knowledgeable than i am said that artist often change the key to a lower key during liveshows in order to save and take care of their voice. Me myself loves Harrys headvoice but I understand that other wants him to do this higher tunes to. Boyfriend in one take are brilliant, I wish he had more praise for that one. All Harrys 3 albums have sound alot different and I love that he isnt afraid to do things differntly. I started listen to his first album 2001 and didnt necessely love Fine Line at first except a few songs like Adore you and Golden. But as I listened it grow on me, like his third album was a shock at first, but I loved Matilda and Little Freak and as it was in (not the song) Fine Line it grow on me. I dont get bored of listen to Harrys music which I do with many others artists (because I listen to mutch) because I hear new things all the time. As in cinema ive never really listened to the lyrics and now I have it all visual in front of my eyes 🙈

I definitely agree with the Off the Wall comparison on Cinema. Because both i wouldn’t say are full on funk, but funk influenced pop. Then on Daydreaming it’s fully a funk song and a perfect first sample for Harry with “Ain’t We Funkin’ Now” by The Brothers Johnson

  • @IExpectedBSJustNotThisMuchBS
    @IExpectedBSJustNotThisMuchBS 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

Thanks for the reaction. This is perhaps my favorite album of Harry’s. Don’t you guys have parties anymore? lol Cinema would be a great party song. You don’t have to listen to the lyrics to enjoy the beat… repeatedly. I heard both Cinema and Daydream as reminiscent of early 80s jazz with some funk. Was I the only person listening to jazz then? I was in high school and college in the 70s-listening to FM radio-and neither song reminds me of the 70s.

When I listened to the album for the first time I thought it's a joke... Harry are you serious... what's that please. But then with each spin it grew and grew and grew. In the end I absolutely loved it! Especially the funky songs. Not talking about the lyrics here. For good reasons the album is so successful. But really surprisingly. Bc it's anything else but mainstream. 😅
Nevertheless for the next album I hope he'll go full rock. Like Kiwi or Medicine. 🔥😎🔥

I was disappointed in this album at first but I came to realise that it's only because it's not what I was expecting. I was hoping for a rock album, along the lines of Medicine, so getting this very gentle, personal, 'light' album was a surprise and it took me a while to get into it. I also prefer Harry's lower register, for the rasp, rather than the upper register he mostly uses on this album. But it's grown on me a lot as a summer top-down driving kind of record.

This album and the music videos he's done for its singles is very telling... Harry is incredibly sensitive, creative, passionate, and thoughtful and does everything very deliberately. I think he feels an immense pressure from the music industry - he still seems to fear that just doing what he loves and enjoying the making and performing of his music isn't enough and that he has to still very carefully ensure that he stays relevant to the pop charts. If that's true, I really feel for him. I think he's afraid to take anything for granted and that makes sense, but I hope he doesn't burn himself out or rob himself of being able to enjoy the present moment properly.

Hi gentlemen, again a great and fun response. And Ryan, you're wrong when you say no one is watching you anyway, we're very attentive viewers and listeners. So next time watch out! 🤣 Thank you for the kind words to my comment, it was HS-TPWK.I had to look for it, but since I am a fan of the Holy Trinity and 1D, I succeeded. 💞 Yes, I wrote that I'm surprised you don't have at least 50,000 subscribers (at the time you had 10,000) and I still insist on it and hope that number keeps growing because you are an amazing, immediate, fun and honest duo and I love you both so much. I would just add that 90% of Harry's songs are better live, Harry has his fans like doping and on stage he is like a fish in water and the whole band with Sarah and Mitch is great. I thank both of you for a very pleasant time and I look forward to further responses. 👍👍❤❤👏👏 I join in the memory of sweet Sammy💔

I never heard a Harry styles song until this past year. I do not love pop music. I'm a hard rock and classic rock and metal girl. My kids are professional musicians and we run a music studio but it was my sons now ex girlfriend who showed him to me. I said yes he a hot guy but I don't think I will dig it. I actually do. I don't love all his songs but a lot of them. Fine line and meet me in the hallway I love. I like a lot of them now. Satellite is actually my favorite song on this one. I love his vibe and I like how kind he seems to be. My son hated the mix on this album with maybe the exception of sushi. He just found so many of the song muddy. I agreed with him on some of it but all in all it's a cool album. It's cool to see others close to my age get into him. Also yes he is the only pop artist I like 😂

Then Harry really said this was the type of music he’s always wanted to make. Not to get on radio! Listened with those ears then fell in love with it. Would love Harry to go full rock album next! Then As it Was. Sad song for Harry. Dealing with so much change. Was piano ballad! Should win many Grammys next week!!!! Matilda the song of the album. Tears the 1st time, 2nd, 3rd……..

Maple syrup, coffee, pancakes for two... there is literally an early tweet from Harry where he said with whom he had this exact breakfast. ^^ Also we know about other events he's singing about. As a senior and one D fan it’s been interesting to see the different genres of music the lads have taken. Loved made in the AM from One D. Niall’s singles were the ones I first enjoyed from radio. First heard Boyfriends live and loved it. I was excited for Harrys album but first listen I have to admit I was disappointed, songs seemed similar. However Little freak, Matilda quickly became favourites. ‘As it was’ couldn’t understand the hype, I’m guessing a lot are new Harry fans plus his all round charm etc Not stopping me from seeing him live in a few weeks.
So obviously it has to do with THE GENRE OF MUSIC you love….hence why I’m a huge Louis fan, loved his new album FITF from first listen, guitar driven. Already seen him live. Also enjoyed a few of Liams songs, wish he would release more as he has a fantastic voice.
Sorry for this long opinionated answer but when I read the fans dissing one another over the lads…it’s disappointing.
Really enjoy your reactions/opinions and your sense of humours!

I think it's about someone he never got to sleep with, implied by the 'never saw my birth mark' line and I'm pretty sure Camille saw this and a while lot more!!

I think it’s about someone before Camille. He mentions red wine and a ginger ale which makes me think he wasn’t 21 yet and she was making fun of him in a bar. Also it basically sounds like a 1D song. I just keep expecting Liam or Louis to jump in with a harmony.

@@lynnebaldwin330 Why would Harry be naked in front of one of his many beards?

@@threeangels9318 Because beards are used to be seen in public to cover up a person's sexuality. Harry NEVER has anyone on his arm at public events or award shows where you would expect to see him with a partner. What's the point of a beard that is never seen with you at public events?? He keeps his private life private. Personally I think he likes men and women

@@lynnebaldwin330 I believe that all his gfs since starting in 1D have been beards. He may not take any of them to public events or award shows but they obviously ‘do the job’ as you, and so many others believe they are really his gfs. He starts ‘dating’ Camille just before he goes on tour and they ‘break up’ just when his 2018 tour ends. He starts ‘dating’ Olivia when filing for DWD begins and they ‘break up’ when the leg of his US tour finishes and promo for DWD is done. He said, “Bisexual, me? Pretty sure I’m not”, tells Zayn the one thing he will never eat is pussy, uses neutral pronouns to describe his ideal girl but when he fucks up he uses he/him. Imo he is most likely gay.
