ok y'all. for those who say black washing "doesn't exist", let's put it this way. when someone white washes someone who has dark skin, it's bad. so when someone black washes someone with light skin, it's equally as bad... why choose one and not the other too? being tan does exist, but it shouldn't make the skin color from being at least medium, maybe even fair, to deep.

If you got this information from google it’s probably sourced from some type of fandom wiki and those aren’t a good source of info since they can be edited by anyone
The designs are amazing and very detailed but one thing I should point out for future reference is that some of the characters are black washed. Some people (not me) get discouraged to watching videos if the person balckwashed the character. Of course I know that it was not intended. Ik it’s probably for representation but changing their skin tones to a darker color and calling them blasian isn’t helping. Ofc blasian ppl exist and they are beautiful, same goes with all poc. But instead of removing their original features we should start creating ocs so that we can focus more on the appropriate appreciation. Ok so at least you know SOMETHING on whitewashing and how harmful it is but you should really educate yourself before you compare it to something like “blackwashing” I sincerely hope anyone that’s accusing the creator of “blackwashing” the characters realizes how stupid they sound. Blackwashing is a bigot term and it was created to put down people of color for trying to create representation for themselves in spaces of media where there was none for them. I hope you realize that blackwashing has never been a thing and will never be a thing. White people don’t go through erasure and racism like POC do. I really tired to get behind/ past the character designs but i just can't, Sanemi and Uzui have albinism, they should have a lighter skin tone, Rengoku eyes shouldn't be grey for whatever reason. Rengoku's appearance it based of a tradition in the rengoku family where the pregnant wife stares at a lit candle in silence for 5 hours to worship the 'fire god' and in return the kids are blessed with red and orange flame like hair and eyes. I don't care about what color you make the characters but you're basically erasing defining features of the characters and their lore

Making Sanemi darker/black is literally so stupid. He is albino meaning his skin will ALWAYS be pale white. Even black people with albinism is pale with almost white like blonde hair. Their eyes are also light blue. You can’t use the excuse that they’re tanned because sanemi would STILL not be tan/darker due to his birth condition.

Ok so at least you know SOMETHING on whitewashing and how harmful it is but you should really educate yourself before you compare it to something like “blackwashing” I sincerely hope anyone that’s accusing the creator of “blackwashing” the characters realizes how stupid they sound. Blackwashing is a bigot term and it was created to put down people of color for trying to create representation for themselves in spaces of media where there was none for them. I hope you realize that blackwashing has never been a thing and will never be a thing. White people don’t go through erasure and racism like POC do. They will never have a shortage of representation like POC do. With this in mind I hope you can understand my point. Blackwashing is not a real term and it doesn’t have any historical meaning it’s created to demonize POC and it’s being used as such. Either way accusing this creator “blackwashing” for choosing to make the skin color of the characters darker is unnecessary and incredibly idiotic. A creative choice or a headcanon like I’m sure you’ve heard isn’t anything rare and has been seen in fandom for a LONG time. I really tired to get behind/ past the character designs but i just can't, Sanemi and Uzui have albinism, they should have a lighter skin tone, Rengoku eyes shouldn't be grey for whatever reason. Rengoku's appearance it based of a tradition in the rengoku family where the pregnant wife stares at a lit candle in silence for 5 hours to worship the 'fire god' and in return the kids are blessed with red and orange flame like hair and eyes. I don't care about what color you make the characters but you're basically erasing defining features of the characters and their lore

Making Sanemi darker/black is literally so stupid. He is albino meaning his skin will ALWAYS be pale white. Even black people with albinism is pale with almost white like blonde hair.
