0:55 I think it's exactly because it's so different. After working on macho superhero's for over a decade maybe he now wants to do something different. And what's more different from action stories with super hero's than cute slice-of-life stories with candy colored equines?
A good chunk of people who have worked on action shows have written for My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic. For example, Josh Haber wrote for Kaijudo: Rise Of The Duel Masters. Nicole Dubuc worked on Spectacular Spiderman, Young Justice, Transformers Rescue Bots, and Miles From Tomorrowland. Kevin Burke & Chris Doc Wyatt worked on Ultimate Spiderman, Avengers Assemble, Transformers Rescue Bots, and Stretch Armstrong And The Flex Fighters. Charlotte Fullerton worked on various Ben 10 cartoons. As for Cort Lane, he was one of the people who suggested that most of the 2010s Marvel cartoons (those being Ultimate Spiderman, Avengers Assemble, Hulk And The Agents Of SMASH, Guardians Of The Galaxy, and the 2017 Marvel's Spiderman cartoon) take place in a connected universe. He'd probably bridge Generation 5 of My Little Pony to Generation 4.
If we have him as a producer, I think we'll be in good hands. I've watched much of animated Marvel series, and they are pretty enjoyable. Also, if memory serves, that are full episodes of the animated Marvel series on TH-cam to watch for free. Edit: There are a few, most are on a channel called Marvel HQ.
seen clips of Ultimate Spiderman and watched Avengers Assemble back in the day...the treatment given to the latter was actually fairly decent, sticking to much of the lore that was in the newer comics while still doing their own thing with the characters, so, this could be very interesting...
I wonder if Equestria Girls will get a next generation series too. And suppose tht Cort Lane will produce EQG G2, I guess it will get so much more action packed adventures. It will bring EQG to the next level. But first, have a look at how MLP G5 will look like under Cort Lane;s supervision.
Not that the producer going from superheroe genres to mlp is bad idea but these superhero shows have had comical and entertainment settings compared to comics which have more darker aspects....and some mlp g4 series did a lot of superhero parodies as well such mystery mare or power ponies episodes so who knows maybe some of them may become superheroish ideas?
As someone said, this guy does mostly comedy shows, with action framing, so we might get some good stuff here, especially if they let him off the leash a bit. That said, doubtful we'll see the developing subplots that go nowhere here...for those who want to blame him, his posts have made it clear that was mostly executives telling him what to do. Still, we'll have to see.
I seen those shows! They almost take a great life equal to the Marvel movies during the phase 1 and part of the phase 2 like "Age of Ultron" and I love them! The action, adventure, comedy, awkward moments and family & friends moments really capture the excitement of each Marble show! So, now knowing this guy will do MLP g5 can be a good sign of the show story and quality to come! I still wish the art wasn't in 3D and have stuck to 2D digital art style of G4 but, maybe now that I know who's works on it help to ease now the story lore will take on!
I watched Ultimate Spider-Man a few years ago and have been rewatching it on Disney+, I love it, the art is amazing, the story is fun, and despite taking some items in a new direction, I personally like how it went, though others don't like the show, but for many it's different reasons
I am VERY excited as a long-time Marvel Fan and a recent MLP fan this you are in good hands, or hooves in this case. Though @DRWolf001 I find it a little disappointing that you would be dismissive or question if he is "pony" enough for the role. as a Marvel fan who has seen these Marvel animated series and LOVED the live action Marvel who is now producing this New MLP G5 series could be interesting
Hey, Dr. Wolf, you’ve mentioned that Pony Life is a more conventional TV series, that’s supposed to be in the same world as FiM and EG. Maybe that’s the TV series within G5’s TV series?!
I've seen these Marvel animated shows let's just say your in for a comedic adventure at least with Ultimate Spider-Man it balances both action and comedy
I never saw the Marvel animated shows either so I can't say I know his history of work but I know how popular the Marvel universe is so I have a feeling this could mean we're in for some cool content for G5!
Enjoying the Ultimate Spider-man and Avengers animated series on Disney channel episode never got boring so having a producer from this series helm My Little Pony Gen 5 it feels away to hit a homerun early just his influence might pull in many fans who might not have gotten into ponies while taking the franchise in many direction it Marvelous...
I've seen all those marvel shows and I think they're entertaining to watch. If this producer is putting his hands on MLP G5... count me in. I'll give it a watch. Least it gives me a reason to actually want to see it.
exciting but Ironic that Cort Lane produced Marvel animated shows like Marvel Avengers Assemble before becoming an Executive Producer for the G5-MLP series since Lauren Faust went on from being an Executive Producer for the G4-MLP series to become Executive Producer for DC Super Hero Girls animated show... (what with Marvel & DC being arch-rivals, lol)
The avengers and mlp are two completely different topics I’d really hate to see this mlp movie get turned into a marvel mlp movie now mlp dose have superhero’s but that’s because they have magic on their own but in this movie magic has disappeared now no one knows exactly how it disappeared or how it’s going to return or if it even going to return at all maybe there’s a Pegasus or unicorn out there with that last bit of magic left in the mlp world and some pony is trying to keep them hidden
I have watch nearly all the superhero series and i think the producer is brony fan wanted to help because love the series or just someone who want to support a decade of a franchise and a show that help change people hearts and help to produce the movie like avengers i think to make it awsome
Hmm, are the future "Power Ponies" going to figure in G5 on a regular basis? Lol, it'll be interesting to see if one of the characters is some sort of a "Spider Pone" variation. Why not? We've already seen a canon-ish (okay it's the comics) cross over with Transformers.
Those shows replaced greater shows with personal agency and an interconnected story arcs. Those shows are lesson of the day with campy humor and characters that are just there.
To be honest, I didn’t at all like the Marvel animated shows like Avengers Assemble, Superhero Squad and Spectacular Spider-Man all that much when I was a kid. But I do appreciate the live action animated films we’ve gotten like Age Of Ultron, Infinity War, Black Panther and End Game. However, I do appreciate what MLP G5 is shaping up to be and at least this guy does have a bright side to him with being involved in its production.
I like her too, but she long since moved on since season 2/3 of FIM. Also MLP existed long before her contributions. Plus the show has grown so much outside her original “vision” that it is has become its own thing. I mean come on they had six seasons without her, a film, two spin-off series, specials, comic books, comics, manga, etc. all without her. Plus she is busy with things like DC Super Hero Girls ands Thems Fightin’ Herds.
Everyone on 4chan is dying because of this news, since a lot of them enjoyed MLP because it’s stylistically distinct from Disney entertainment properties. That’s something to keep in mind too.
I watched a load of Marvel movies and shows recently and to know that staff from one of the older Marvel shows is coming on, we are in for some good comedy🤣
Okay I’m not a marvel fan (I don’t hate Marvel mind you but it just not my thing) however it’s quite interesting that the producer of some animated marvel is working for gen 5! Since I do assume he is a quite respectable guy so I bet it would do just fine with MLP, yeah sure it would be an odd change from what he is used to but I bet it would do good regardless! Also plus it be cool if he would do some marvel references in the background cause of it! xD
So whoever this pony is with the last bit of magic he/she wants to rebel and goes on and adventure with three other friends he/she doesn't tell the friends that he/shes got magic so they set out to find a way to bring magic back to equestria.
I have no idea why everyone is so positive about him joining. Most people hate his work at Marvel due to bad writing, cringy comedy, and bland and stiff animation. The only projects he's been a part of that I actually liked were Super Hero Squad, Iron Man: Armored Adventures, Rocket & Groot, and the Ant-Man shorts, otherwise his work is pretty sloppy. I would implore people to have more cautious expectations.
Well Dr.Wolf coming from both marvel and MLP fan I really don’t know but I think that we could get more better and heroic stories it just me guessing honestly
Ironically, the original 'My Little Pony' series was co-produced by Marvel Productions along with Sunbow, and Hasbro. Also, Jerry Conway, creator of The Punisher, and who wrote 'The Night Gwen Stacy Died' was one of the writers.

Honestly if G5 becomes almost more Action comedy with real life drama mixed it and is done well. It might even have a slight chance of equaling g4. It cannot surpass go becuse of how many people grew up with it. But since it's a continuation of sorts. Then it vary well can equal go. I personally never watched the show growing up. I did watch Power Puff girls(PPG), Totaly Spies and Winx Club. Witch are simmaler to Mlp:Fim. If I had internet back then and learned Lauren Faust was working on PPG I would have probly gave G4 a watch sooner. Or at least watched the episodes everyone says was good. But I did bing the Shown on Netflix (out of boredom becuse of Pandemic) The episodes that obviously BUY OUR TOYS sometimes feel hand fisted. But the good episodes are good and the best episodes actuly had me on seats edge. If g5 can take that good and make it great and make the best even better. Then who knows.
I have watched the animated Marvel shows these last ten years along with My Little Pony. I think that the Marvel shows are of high quality. If he brings that kinda of level to MLP, then I think that the MLP G5 is going to be great.
I would say that from someone who has watched Ultimate Spider-Man, that we could be in for a wild ride Doc. But I do recommend watching the show for yourself to get a taste of his work to get your own thoughts on it. Especially since in Ultimate Spider-Man, the producer took a different twist of how Venom was created.
The Guardians of the Galaxy show probably had half a season before it was canned as it barely showed any episodes and the characters basically just moved over to the Avengers show and that one along with Ultimate Spiderman got good writing or down hill writing in their final season.
If this is true (I haven't seen anything else about it), this is definitely very interesting. Maybe we'll get some really intense scenes in the movie. I'm excited about this.

Agreed. Also your welcome :)

I think it's exactly because it's so different. After working on macho superhero's for over a decade maybe he now wants to do something different.
And what's more different from action stories with super hero's than cute slice-of-life stories with candy colored equines?
Oh boy..............well let’s see how this also goes
Lauren Faust also made Super Hero Girls on netflix
If we have him as a producer, I think we'll be in good hands. I've watched much of animated Marvel series, and they are pretty enjoyable.
Also, if memory serves, that are full episodes of the animated Marvel series on TH-cam to watch for free.
Edit: There are a few, most are on a channel called Marvel HQ.
well, that's a damn good sign. i REALLY hope it lives up
since this movie has musical numbers. I hope the songs will be written by Daniel Ingram.
seen clips of Ultimate Spiderman and watched Avengers Assemble back in the day...the treatment given to the latter was actually fairly decent, sticking to much of the lore that was in the newer comics while still doing their own thing with the characters, so, this could be very interesting...
Honestly I think this is a welcome change. I've watched some of all 3 shows and I can say for certain that he's gonna do a great job.
Looks like it will be CG but not 3D if we are going by the guy’s former projects
I personally think that after G4, working on MLP became actually rather prestigious thing
I can assure you he is passionate about every project I have known he has worked on and touched and I am relieved the EP is him.
Wow, that's amazing

I'm watching for super hero ponies now!
I have seen only the movies so don't know anyting about the tv series but i looking forward for G5
I Don’t know what he’ll be Producing Or Developing on MLP G5,
But I Hope it’s Going To Be Good and Not Terrible.
🤞🏻
I’ve watched most of the marvel shows and they all had great story. Now I’m more hyped for the story of the movie
Im probably gonna cry wtaching g5 now cause i watched the gaurdians of the galaxy cartoon and 1 thing cosmo
Who knows Doc?...my guess as to the reason why Cort Lane agreed to be a producer for mlp G5 is because maybe he's got little kid relatives who likes mlp or something, at least that's my guess.
You’re in every MLP video.
@@The_True_Mx_Pink Tell it to somebody who cares, and that wasn't a smart thing to say.
@@theponyofglory8545 Excuse me? I literally just stated how he seems to be in every video, there was nothing rude to warrant your comment. I don't understand how it wasn't smart, I was just stating what I thought.
@@The_True_Mx_Pink Well first of all there's no way he's in literally every video because it's impossible, and you know that it's nonesense for him to be, and second it wasn't a smart thing to say because i'll tell you nobody likes being told that they're everywhere or that they are in a lot of videos, especially not this guy i know this because he and i sorta have history.
@@theponyofglory8545 Dude. It's called an exaggeration. Do you are have brain damage.
Mate, to say no one likes it is hyperbolic. It's a harmless comment to which only you took offense to.
If they felt offended, apologies, tell me and should you wish to I'll delete the comment.
Oh my god ultimate Spider-Man writing and fanartist contribution, if gen 5 isn't absolutely incredible, I'll be very surprised.
as a Marvel fan who has seen these Marvel animated series and LOVED the live action Marvel who is now producing this New MLP G5 series could be interesting
Hey, Dr. Wolf, you’ve mentioned that Pony Life is a more conventional TV series, that’s supposed to be in the same world as FiM and EG.
Maybe that’s the TV series within G5’s TV series?!
I have vuage memories of watching advendgers assemble and the kids iron man show when I was younger, I think they where pretty good
I've seen these Marvel animated shows let's just say your in for a comedic adventure at least with Ultimate Spider-Man it balances both action and comedy
(what with Marvel & DC being arch-rivals, lol)
this is so dope, brohoove
The avengers and mlp are two completely different topics I’d really hate to see this mlp movie get turned into a marvel mlp movie now mlp dose have superhero’s but that’s because they have magic on their own but in this movie magic has disappeared now no one knows exactly how it disappeared or how it’s going to return or if it even going to return at all maybe there’s a Pegasus or unicorn out there with that last bit of magic left in the mlp world and some pony is trying to keep them hidden
The animated marvel shows are amazing and if he brings the same amount of action to MLP it's going to be amazing
A Marvel animated series producer for MLP? Maybe he just likes ponies.
Isn’t Disney the owner of marvel? The g5 art style being based on Disney with a Disney person owning g5 means hasbro won’t be sued
I have watch nearly all the superhero series and i think the producer is brony fan wanted to help because love the series or just someone who want to support a decade of a franchise and a show that help change people hearts and help to produce the movie like avengers i think to make it awsome
Still just waiting to see a movie trailer. I'm tempering my expectations until then
Hmm, are the future "Power Ponies" going to figure in G5 on a regular basis? Lol, it'll be interesting to see if one of the characters is some sort of a "Spider Pone" variation. Why not? We've already seen a canon-ish (okay it's the comics) cross over with Transformers.
Those shows replaced greater shows with personal agency and an interconnected story arcs.
Those shows are lesson of the day with campy humor and characters that are just there.
Maybe Assemble but Ultimate Spiderman was amazing and a lot of people loved it. There was ton of deep and human moments between characters.
I only seen the live action, big hero six, and spidey and his amazing friends!
What about Lauren Faust? Why isn't she involved in this show anymore?
I've seen Avengers Assemble, very good and true to a lot of the marvel characters shown in it.
Ok I'm excited. I loved Ultimate Spiderman and The Guardians of The Galaxy cartoon. They were great in my opinion.
Ironically, the original 'My Little Pony' series was co-produced by Marvel Productions along with Sunbow, and Hasbro. Also, Jerry Conway, creator of The Punisher, and who wrote 'The Night Gwen Stacy Died' was one of the writers.
Something tells me we’re getting a lot of fourth wall breaking
Spiderman to Deadpool: Cant you be more helpful?
DP: I would but I am tied up here as I cant ... unalive them
SM: >.> Unalive them?!
DP: Look the network WONT let me use the K Word I working with what I got kid!
I have never seen any of those shows, but the comments say the shows he produced have comedy and adventure, and it fits well with Mlp.
Now I'm really getting "Days of Future Past" vibes.
I have watched the animated Marvel shows these last ten years along with My Little Pony. I think that the Marvel shows are of high quality. If he brings that kinda of level to MLP, then I think that the MLP G5 is going to be great.
Wow I am shocked
Famous marvel dude is a brony pog
I would say that from someone who has watched Ultimate Spider-Man, that we could be in for a wild ride Doc. But I do recommend watching the show for yourself to get a taste of his work to get your own thoughts on it. Especially since in Ultimate Spider-Man, the producer took a different twist of how Venom was created.
Ultimate Spider-Man is pretty good.
The Guardians of the Galaxy show probably had half a season before it was canned as it barely showed any episodes and the characters basically just moved over to the Avengers show and that one along with Ultimate Spiderman got good writing or down hill writing in their final season.
My favorite is ultimate spider man. It's funny and the action well made. And a lot of breaking the fourth wall.
I loved the cartoons! The comedy and character are a joy to watch.
Well, My Little Pony's coming to Disney+, as I predicted.
I'm just praying that Disney doesn't do to MLP what they did to Star Wars. The more they keep their paws out of MLP, the better in my opinion.
Although they could purchase My Little Pony.
@@833time My worst nightmare.
Maybe for you, but I think they would nail it animating the characters with their software.
I love Ultamtate Spider-Man so im looking forward to it anymore i think he will do it great
If this is true (I haven't seen anything else about it), this is definitely very interesting. Maybe we'll get some really intense scenes in the movie. I'm excited about this.
We are gonna have to wait an extremely long time for the tv show(for whatever reason).
I watched the spider-man cartoon and it made me almost cry and I watched just some episodes and the finale because it was airing on TV. I wished I watched it since the beggining but TV sucks...
as captain Barbossa would say for g5: "fortune continues to favor us"
Alright, that really could be awesome
