Hey, I am a security professional and I have a recommendation. (Hope you see this) get the best quality day/night (with infrared) cameras and put them on a pole about 3 feet off the ground down the main entrance. Two separate day and night dedicated cameras. Reason being then you can record plates of every single vehicle entering/leaving the property at any point in time. It’s super helpful for people causing trouble during operating hours and they dip before police can arrive or if someone drives up at night/non operating hours. If you need any more recommendations I can gladly advise on a well thought out system.

at least one set, 3 feet off the ground is the key. Those faces who wear caps and hoods can be seen, nothing worse then the images from CCTV that look down on a 45 with no way to see a facial structure. Also With low height cameras you can do facial ID matching, so if someone comes in at a time they shouldn't you can match them to when they came in at other times. We had one place that had video of someone unknown taking goods during normal hours but arrived on foot, The facial ID had him hopping out of a vehicle 2 months prior and through the vehicle details he was ID'd.

Y'all gotta realize, 1. the FF has already been vandalized so theres pressure to keep that from happening again, 2. Its under construction, and people can easily get hurt screwing around somewhere they have no business being at, which can also lead to lawsuits putting the FF and Garret into financial jeopardy. It ain't worth it to get a peek at cool cars and people.
They clearly have a goal of opening this to the public, so just be patient and let them get this ready for you.

I have a scissor lift, air compressors, sand blasters, industrial sized paint sprayers that can empty a 5 gal bucket in a couple minutes, a power washer bigger than the one in this video sitting here in Louisiana and I’d just love to spend a couple weeks helping out, i just can’t afford to do it. Damn shame.

It's no surprise that you've had "Interlopers". Remember a while back when you had to tell people not to come by the shop? People need to understand and stay away except when there's an event. If they make a mistake and get hurt at The Freedom Factory, it will wreck everything. Not just for Cleetus and the crew, but the rest of us too. So have some sense, and don't go to jail for trespassing. The video you shoot can be used as evidence.

As a local I'm pretty disappointed some of us can't hold their excitement about this place coming together and rather feel the need to bother everyone and help themselves into thinking it's okay... Can't wait for the first event! Love watching the progress too, builds up so much hype.

As a local who grew up out at this track, it is absolutely awesome to see someone buy it and actually put heart into renovating it and getting it back to the way it was decades ago. Thank you for bringing back fond memories of my childhood!

its in our blood we are car guys engine guys anything mechanical guys from changing the light bulbs and seeing one of the rooms light up to mowing the yard and fixing random stuff around the place we are here and we will watch it all hell if we was there irl you know we would all want a go at trying out that pressure washer that was nice he needs a truck with a big pressure washer in the back with tank trailer he is going to need it all over this place
If you have the time, use that same pressure washer on all the concrete walkways... you could also contact the city and see if you could borrow 'rent' a street sweeper to clean up all the grime on the track!

@Swampy a hit? He is going to live there and be a family home probably for 10 20 30 years if not for the rest of there lives so its a good investment. He already owns his own veterinarian and makes money. It's a known fact that tracks cost a lot of money to up keep and they have a high potential to lose you money if things go bad. Why do you think the track got abandoned in the first place.

The general rule for going to the freedom factory: if his best friends gotta ask first, you definitely gotta ask first. If you want in, bring your tools, your work boots, a good attitude and ask real nicely.
Beat me to it. I would add that folks should remain patient till it's been openly announced to the public to show up. I'm excited just as much as most to see this track in person, but there's a right time and a wrong time. I say let these men work and show us when they're ready!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure there'll be call for some volunteer crews soon enough. (One way to do that is to just have people sign up to camp out for a few days before an event, and help set everything up, (I used to work with a non-motorsport-related festival where we did just that, except it wasn't on us to renovate the facilities themselves. :) ) ...in this case probably lots of us would like to help with the renovations. ...there seems to be a lot of local help there, but for others who can, same amount of travel time as to just go to an event, and it sounds like lots of us would be keen to be part of making this happen.
When you started talking about them bleachers I thought maybe you'd been out in the sun too long, but I actually understand, just with cabinets. I built cabinets for about a year and now I always find myself observing cabinetry. A nice set of cabinets is great to feel.... 🤣🤣

Hey cleetus I've been a fan for almost 4 years now and I was born and raised my whole childhood in myakka and grew up going to desoto every weekend but now I'm stationed across the country. I was so excited when you purchased the track and seeing how hard you work to make your dream a reality makes me have even more respect for you as a person. Im a 66 year old aussie and wish i lived near your track. I would be there everyday working my ass off for nothing as im retired.
Unfortunately as your an easy going guy, a lot of guys dont think it matters that they trespass on the track. (Cleetus will be cool) well Cleetus has a big investment to worry about! Your right, if it continues they get prosecuted! You need to know who, and why anyone is on the property or you lose control and things end up stolen or damaged.

Not to mention, as sad as it is, if someone comes onto your property without permission and gets themselves hurt or killed you/your insurance is liable. You just can't be letting people run around on your property, be it a lawn, a farm, a building, woods, or ESPECIALLY commercial property. It's bad for everyone and just can't be allowed except in controlled circumstances.

Clearly not man, owning a racetrack would give me a heart attack knowing all the liabilities that come along with the track and racing itself, bleachers, and all the other stuff there.
It's a bummer that its gone past the point of just warning people, but I completely understand why he has to get serious about it.
Insurance? Thats not even what I think matters. Its respect. These 'Fans" were probably some low level youtubers or some other social media platform taking video like "We snuck into the freedom factory!" People these days cant respect shit. Its obvious on clettus' videos the track is not for free reign or free exploring but these "fans" went to trespass anyway.

He is trying to get it up to the condition he wants so AFTER he has all that necessary work done so it will be safe and fun for all the events he has in mind. Then he can and will open to the public, for a fee I'm sure, so they can come and see what's happening. Sadly there are a few jerks that think or should I say don't think, and go wherever they want, but let them get hurt while wondering around, can we say 'lawsuit', a few rotten eggs ruin it for everyone.

Hey Cleetus, I'd like to thank you for all your work to create a place for others to be free ( within reason). I very much appreciate the love and hard work you're giving and going through to make this place come to life again.
My thought is help protect the bleachers a bit (and increase the freedom) by coating the sections. One red, one white, one blue. Or one blue with stars and the other red and white every other row for stripes

You should start a Facebook so that the locals can keep up to date on how the track is coming along. You’re going to need one in the future anyways so you can host events and what not. May as well start it now so it catches all the progress start to finish. It’s always good to get the locals involved and not everyone watches TH-cam... might be able to find a few more company’s willing to sponsor and or just get more hands on deck. Please like so he sees this!

I want to just sit at the top bleacher... all alone no one around... appreciate the silence... the tranquility... nothing beats the peaceful and absolute down to earth feeling you get at an empty racetrack... humbling to say the least. I use to go to the drag strip when I was young in Dallas early and I knew some staff and I would just sit up high and watch them prep the track before they opened the gates to spectators. My uncle knew people so I got press passes and all I used to spectate races from basically next to the strip. I could touch the cars while they staged at 12 years old it was amazing 🤣🤣

Y'all if you wanna meet Cleetus and the guys just go to an event. I went to LS Fest and just hung out and watched them do their thing. Believe me they'd much rather have that than someone showing up uninvited. It ain't worth getting on their bad side just to say you saw the shop or the track.

shelbyz1988 Yea, gas is usually the only way to get that high of pressure, plus it’s a mobile setup, electric power would be annoying to have to find at all locations.

shelbyz1988 ah. Yea that’s pretty standard with that type of head. It’s just water pressure causing it to spin. It works really well cleaning concrete as well. Some places rent those out.

I had a tear in my eye when you said let's take a minute from the Hell yeah and then did the pan from there to the sunset!! Felt so much Freedom coming from the Freedom Factory. Cleetus you are living the American Dream to have a place of your own to let the Bald Eagles Rip and Send so much Freedom . It's a shame that people can't respect your property and not Trespass I know that they wouldn't do this if it was some place like Daytona or any other venue. they should show the Same Respect to your place.
