Questions: 1) What do you think of non-stationary content once in a while? 2) Anyone tried making their own Walnut Ink? If so, have you put it in a fountain pen? 3) What do you have inked up for Autumn? Ink recommendations that you really love this time of year?
You have some really nice choices! Fall colors are my favorite - so much so that I use them all year. I have Diamine Tobacco Sunset, Bilberry, Red Robin, Ancient Copper, Aurora Borealis, and Oxblood in pens now. Also, Teranishi Classy Burgandy and Troublemaker Hanging Rice, Platinum Carbon Black. You have much more restraint than I do!
Diamine Tabaco Sunburst is on my short list of inks to try. I think that might be my "go-to brown", at least on my screen it looks like the perfect warm brown tone that I would love. Either that or Robert Oster Caffe Crema. Depending on how they look in person. :) I have a bottle of Ancient Copper and usually have it inked up in at least one of my pens.. what a perfect autumn ink - I may need to ink that up before too long. I'm not familiar with Bilberry or Red Robin, so I will definitely look them up. Thank you so much for the comment!
Hi Kendall. You have another subscription. I am in the UK. Very interested in your fountain pen content. Would love to know how to make walnut ink. Good luck in reaching 500 subs.
Subscribing is the cool part, great videos. 1- Good idea, go for it. 2- Never tried making my own ink. 3- Pilot Iroshizuku Yu Yake in a Jinhao 9019 Demonstrator. Looks great on that huge cartridge converter.
Absolutely love the 9019. Huge nib, girthy grip, tons of capacity but with the convenience of a converter system for cleaning. I've never tried Yu Yake, but it looks great. Thanks!
I love the pen database idea, should be possible to do an online version with user submitted data too. Currently inked and in daily use at my place are: Sailor 1911 Realo with Herbins Lie De Thé, Jinhao X750 with Diamines Writers Blood and a Jinhao X159 with Rorher und Klingners Sepia.
Great video! Do you use a punch with your loose paper? I just got one at Hobby Lobby last night and began making a notebook of assorted papers, because I want to use all of the different papers I have. Makes it simple to go to and not have loads of notebooks/paper to move around all of the time! Love fountain pens and the way the ink looks on various paper.
Great idea. It's been on my mind for a while now, but I just haven't gotten around to it. I'm still in the process of figuring out what I want to use my William Hannah notebook for (and there's a punch I could get for that), and the standard A5 6-ring binder system and what I want to use that for (and there's a punch for that too). I do absolutely love the idea of trying and using different paper types within the same notebook. Thanks!
The TWSBI ALR Prussian Blue has been in my cart for almost three months now, not sure about the color. Seeing it again in your video is my sign to check out.
For me, the color and design of the pen are just perfection. For some, the texture of the grip is a deal-breaker, but it doesn't bother me and really prevents any potential slipping. My only hesitation would be picking the nib - I think I would go with a Medium vs my Fine, if I were to choose over again. But then I wonder about a Broad or even a Stub.. choices, choices. :)
@@KendallW I was at a seminar the other week and saw one person using it. Mustered the courage to ask if I can hold it. Haha! I ended up getting a Vac Mini with 1.1 stub nib, though. A big change from my EFs and Fs. I'm enjoying all the shading. I have yet to decide which nib to go with my near-future ALR. 🤔

Yes, please do dabble in your other new channel. Fountain Pen people are also dabblers in other hobbies: edc, watches, etc
Agreed, thanks!
