I am just trying to understand, no disrespect to the General Officer or US Military, but how is it the Pentagon Press Briefing can clearly say it endorses or does not endorse aid to Ukraine? I feel like it should just be neutral with no opinion. Just something like, “The Pentagon is ready to utilize the robust logistics systems to take action if and when the nation’s elected officials and policymakers send out their final decision.” If the Pentagon cannot disclose the logistics for OPSEC, then what else is there to be said? This seems like the Pentagon is trying to help push the funding through Congress by giving this sort of briefing as it clearly gives an opinion and is not neutral on the issue of Ukraine. The military and its members can have opinions but when it comes to doing the bidding of the politicians and policymakers, the military must only be ready to take action or not. Giving any sort of opinion and saying things like fingers crossed is literally like asking for money or admitting a personal bias when representing the pentagon and military…. Why is this being done like this? I do not understand? I feel like a service-member must simply complete the mission and while entitled to personal opinions cannot make them the message of the US Military as the US Military as an organization should always be neutral. One can advise or have opinions, but this does not seem like the time or place for them? Am I wrong?
