Why do people keep on saying Issei copied other bboys? Theres not much moves you can do and almost all can do the basic moves. Issei is still young and he already achieved this much. Those powermoves he did were sooo diffcult. In my eyes he is the best
To the video's producers: the way you showed each round's score was a great addition to the battle itself. It's a clever way to add transparency to the judging.
note is foundation, which is confidence, musicality, and footwork brush colors are originality, which is how creative your style is and how original your moves are lightning is dynamics. it's not all about powermoves, but they share a lot of aspects arrow is execution, not dancing on beat. it's about how a bboy executes his moves the last one is battle, which is basically all about response to your opponent's moves
yeah but what did the judges think at the time judging the battle? I'm pretty sure some, not all, thought it was a crash. I'm just saying that Issei is dope n like what I told someone else (cuz we had the same conversation like this), Issei is a new ray of hope for new n younger generations to get into breakin.
Arrow is accuracy of how they execute the moves I believe. So the cleanliness. I think the last one is to do with either how long or short the sets are, but I'm not too sure on that one either...
p.s. I like the judging system. The dancers who don't like it aren't used to it yet. Once they get more familiar with the system and understand it better, I think there will be wider acceptance.
each bboy has their own icons per category. after each takedown, the bboy that has a lead in each category gets the icon lit up on the top bar. the more icons that are lit up, the better you're doing, but it's still the highest score at the end who wins.
People complained that the OUR system would eliminate power from competition. And now that Issei wins with power people blame the judges. People always seem to be complaining, respect the judges and the battle man.
You have to understand something. When it comes down to a COMPETITION, this is what SHOULD happen. When you are talking who is an all around bboy and dancer, that's when things get complicated. there are many great dancers and artists out there starving for fame and become a competition bboy. tell you the truth, I haven't met many bboys with both ground power and airpower that is pretty amazing. It's been a long generation since a bboy came back with the package of the two power move styles.
that VARIATION? not talking bout just mill to double headspin. nvr seen them do that variation before. if its true that they dont, then i guess its original
Remember there are different judges judging on different aspects of the battle. Roxrite did good but Issei had more execution but Roxrite did got him on originality. Overall, both did good n u gotta respect that. This kid is only 14. Imagine him at Roxrite's age later on. He WILL be dope.
chico is a judge on dynamics so how is itissei uses only power in 2 of his rounds and scores a 4+5 and roxrite uses a mixture of flavour style and power and scores a 3
there are actually contests for oil paintings and they do undergo eliminations and qualifications. there's competition in every field whether you're an "artist" or not. competition is part of life, get used to it. Also, art is expressing yourself. That is all that is required to make art, some do it through words, or paintings, or dancing, or competitive athletics. All "sports" are is expressing yourself with your body. Bboying falls under that category.
I don't get why people are still hating on the OUR system. It wouldn't matter if R16 used it or not. Any form of judging always has flaws and OUR is no different. It's a matter of who the judges are because they're the determining factor in the end. Anyway, congratulations to Issei!
Why do people always complain about power and style? Obviously there equal to judges since a stylehead and a powerhead both made it to the finals. It just came down to the dance in whole and if the judges decided Issei was better then so be it.
BTW way ever thing he threw at R16 is the same exact rounds he threw at CHELLES BATTLE PRO. but mad respect to him it shows how much he trained cuz its ten times cleaner and powerful. Catch you on the flip side ISSEI
Many people are hating on the system but the system doesn't fail. It's the judges way in using the system. Don't understand me wrong here: the judges, which are highly respected B-boys, know what they're doing.
lssei is freaking dope this was a really good battle kinda back and forth with opposite styles much respect to roxrite though still one of the illist in the game
He's still young though, atm he's a sponge so he just takes what he sees but in saying that he does have some nice ideas. Those munchmill halos were nice and he has some good variations. Hopefully he does start to change it up in the future but the guys clearly worked hard for this.
You're right!I think doing same powermoves is ok or it'll be unfair for powermovers :( Creating new powermoves are tough as hell unlike toprock or footwork.
well, never saw issei before until R16 this year, I have to say he is amazing, so powerful, and seems like never get tired. However, bboy issei makes me have a feeling that he always do the same movement, or you can say similar. Well, in the old judging way, no judge would like any competitor doing this, but in this system, judges must give score in every round. So even he keeps giving babymill, air flare, or other power move, cuz he is tough and stable, so he get pretty high score in "Dynamics"
People will complain when something is quantifiable because it then ruins the "art" and complain there is no system in place that makes anything quantifiable so it's based entirely on someones (possibly bias) opinion. Stop demanding if you can't appreciate progression. Can't keep everything in the dark ages forever, a candle wick will eventually need replacing.
so when people judge a battle, how should they judge it? should one judge just "feel" one person won the battle, and another judge with a completely different breaking style "feel" the other person won? and "feel" better about one person's dancing over the other? I'm not criticizing your comment, I'm just stating that, all true art forms (like bboying) have a way to judge them. if people bang on the keys of the piano to express themselves, that's not art. there's a a way to judge piano music.
Well usually a judge will vote for one bboy or another based on only his opinion.. this system tries to get past that but of course nothing will be perfect. It however is a judged battle so what do you expect? If you want to win you'll need to please the judges (opinion based or not) and that is following a system. It is true for any judged battle. Bboying does have rules, whether judged battle or cypher.
understand something. Originality is only one catagory out of 5. so if Roxrite were to win, it be taking 4 more catagories. even 3/5 would have won him the battle.
i like Roxrite. But,Roxrite definitely has more "Connections" with the Judges than Issei. They might be his friends.so,I wonder if the judges could judge fairly if it's old judge system...sometimes,I doubt that in old judge system.(sorry my English)
What are you talking about? I never said i was into Issei more, and I neve question the judge's decision, and I wasn't even making a judgment myself. I don't WANT anyone to win, I was merely stating that Roxrite DID in fact win Foundation, look at the score, and that execution was tied. If you can't accept that then you got tell te judges that their wrong.
idk. the OUR system just seems weird to me. but the judges definitely know what they are doing i mean it is a big event they wouldnt get judges that arent accomplished bboys. props to both of them that was close.
Issei didn't completely rob Roxrite like everyone thinks.. he held his ground pretty good xD I think the judges need to actually judge on what is "average". That's just giving away free points. If someone doesn't even toprock and do footwork, no foundation there man they should get a zero instead of a 3. same goes for the other categories. That's just how i feel though no hate here
Biting leads to Evolution. In some point in your life as a Bboy there was probably a time where u looked up to a Bboy, and told yourself that you wanted to be a Bboy, and that you wanted to do everything the same like them, or you maybe just wanted their footwork or powermove. Either way its still called biting.
hey i have to admit in my opinion i think roxrite won only because he was more well rounded, but this kid has amazing and clean power power lol big ups to the kid!! one love!
they have a voting system just because this is a competition, this isn't some battle in some street, and all the bboys that competed here agreed in being judged this way, there's nothing wrong with that
dope battle! I'm not gonna front like many of you we're tired of seeing guys with all the power moves win battles. Issei had very nice sets. But Roxrite pulls alot of tricks and freezes that a judge should value. I feel if you want to see power moves go see a circus act. But if you really want to protect bboying show respect to a bboy who bring newer element from the epicenter of bboying instead of burning the game with power move toys.
I've been breakin for 6 years n so far, Issei did win this battle. However, Roxrite did got him on originality n foundation but for execution n dynamics, Issei got on him back. Overall, this battle was good n for a 14 year old winning R16 is good ray of hope for this generation to shine.
you obviously arent very educated, when roxrite does power he makes it look as clean as possible, thats why his dynamics normally get good scores, issei on the other hand did a shoulder tap barrel mill, which a lot of bboys can do, and got a 5 in originality which means orb wasnt watching his set. knowing you, youll probably reply agaiin sayin roxrite is whack, so ill just spam you from here on out
Why is it every single one of you make the assumption I claim I am bboy? Breakdancers are people that have no knowledge of HipHop or the dance itself and just do moves. Just because a bboy is trying to win jams and make a living doesn't make him a "breakdancer". To say that someone who trains to win at jams isn't satisfying their soul too is an incredibly ignorant statement. If that were the case then anyone going into a battle dances only to satisfy a judge. I hardly believe that to be true.
Roxrite didn't seem to do as good as usual. I mean he was hitting his moves but there was just something about his performance that wasn't getting my attention. But Issei was coming out with dope moves and his energy was really high and i was really feeling him. But aside from that, it was a great battle
12 ปีที่แล้ว
if you got full feeling, u will got full point of Foundation and Originality .. but it's not enough to win and u know that :) u can't just do toprock and footwork to win
14 year old Issei beats 3 of the best bboys in the world on his first time entering the competative bboy world stage. AMAZING!!!
THANK YOU FOR THE UPLOAD, R16!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I like how we can see the judges score for each round. Wish they has something like that in boxing or ufc.
He's only 15 years old.A Middle School Student,guys!AMAZING!!:O
In the beginning it says what are the judges' areas:
Foundation
Originality
Dynamics
Execution
and the last one is Battle
can anyone explain how issei got a 5 on originality on his last set? if anything this battle shouldve been a tie
note is foundation, which is confidence, musicality, and footwork
brush colors are originality, which is how creative your style is and how original your moves are
lightning is dynamics. it's not all about powermoves, but they share a lot of aspects
arrow is execution, not dancing on beat. it's about how a bboy executes his moves
the last one is battle, which is basically all about response to your opponent's moves
Great job ISSEI!!
issei is so young ! judging from this ... he will be one of the famous bboy in a years time
yeah but what did the judges think at the time judging the battle? I'm pretty sure some, not all, thought it was a crash. I'm just saying that Issei is dope n like what I told someone else (cuz we had the same conversation like this), Issei is a new ray of hope for new n younger generations to get into breakin.
anybody think that the sax and drum machine are pretty pointless?
Arrow is accuracy of how they execute the moves I believe. So the cleanliness. I think the last one is to do with either how long or short the sets are, but I'm not too sure on that one either...
Man, too much hate circulates. This battle made me smile, and bob my head, and woot, and throw hand props. I loved the battle.
what does the bar on the top do?
woah that judging thing on top is weird what do those pictures mean?
Undersold a bit in foundation as well.
p.s. I like the judging system. The dancers who don't like it aren't used to it yet. Once they get more familiar with the system and understand it better, I think there will be wider acceptance.

Second song!! Please!
how did this kid beat Blue, Hong 10, now Roxrite?
People complained that the OUR system would eliminate power from competition. And now that Issei wins with power people blame the judges. People always seem to be complaining, respect the judges and the battle man.
song name please!
Song name?
second song pls
Bboying will always be an art, no matter what. The fact that everyone's complaining that it's a sport now, shows that you don;t believe in it enough.
1:28 música???

Song?
parabens how lay jurors to judge each one was perfect in its stylo great to get this kind of
that VARIATION? not talking bout just mill to double headspin. nvr seen them do that variation before. if its true that they dont, then i guess its original

See bboy Issei's trailer or when he battle in France!
chico is a judge on dynamics so how is itissei uses only power in 2 of his rounds and scores a 4+5 and roxrite uses a mixture of flavour style and power and scores a 3
issei is taisuke ?????
Watch it again...
I felt the same thing... and I'm a huge fan of Rox... but everyone has off days, no matter what you do. Both are dope BBoys and a good battle
there are actually contests for oil paintings and they do undergo eliminations and qualifications. there's competition in every field whether you're an "artist" or not. competition is part of life, get used to it. i dont get how roxrite lost and a powerhead like issei won.
hmm, i don't know, beacuse issei dope i think
And as you can clearly see, Roxrite was winning Foundation, and they were both equally clean.
@Johnnyyfreeze
Minnesota Joe.
I don't get why people are still hating on the OUR system. It wouldn't matter if R16 used it or not. Any form of judging always has flaws and OUR is no different. It's a matter of who the judges are because they're the determining factor in the end. Anyway, congratulations to Issei!

how?

first song
ST-4 - Black Skin Blue Eyed Boys
First intelligent person I have come across youtube right here. If you break I'd love to session with you one day.
He's still young though, atm he's a sponge so he just takes what he sees but in saying that he does have some nice ideas. Those munchmill halos were nice and he has some good variations. Hopefully he does start to change it up in the future but the guys clearly worked hard for this.

That variation at 0:29 is pretty fuckn original. Havent seen anyone do that variation for mill>dbl-headspin yet.

honestly....honestly why did they need a live band playing with the dj? really killed the vibe...
BBOY THE GAME 2013 coming soon!
Did the DJ play a long 40 min song and just pressed the stop/play button for the entire solo battle?...
People will complain when something is quantifiable because it then ruins the "art" and complain there is no system in place that makes anything quantifiable so it's based entirely on someones (possibly bias) opinion. I wanna see Lilou vs Issei!
Yeah him. Thanks bro.
but if u watched the battle closely, Hong10 crashed on 1 set n that really messed up his chances of winning that battle with Issei
15 years old and killin it!!!! i hope im as good as him when im 15!
really? final battle and they only play 1 song?
Rowritee nice flow man! great execution, issei is only powermove..
Never heard of Issei before but I fucking love em already
Let's be real, if Rox would have won everyone would be in love with the system
issei is Taisuke's Fan =="?
so when people judge a battle, how should they judge it? should one judge just "feel" one person won the battle, and another judge with a completely different breaking style "feel" the other person won? and "feel" better about one person's dancing over the other?

Great to see dyzee's system is up
FUUUU those points are so accurate.... good scoring :o
understand something. Originality is only one catagory out of 5. so if Roxrite were to win, it be taking 4 more catagories. even 3/5 would have won him the battle.
Yes. It's actually a rule in the OUR system. Actually, you get NO score for the round if you do that.
i like Roxrite. But,Roxrite definitely has more "Connections" with the Judges than Issei. They might be his friends.so,I wonder if the judges could judge fairly if it's old judge system...sometimes,I doubt that in old judge system.(sorry my English)
However foundation and style how important,
breaking need
and hes really really really young.hes just getting better.like 14-16 i think
What are you talking about? I never said i was into Issei more, and I neve question the judge's decision, and I wasn't even making a judgment myself.
I don't WANT anyone to win, I was merely stating that Roxrite DID in fact win Foundation, look at the score, and that execution was tied. If you can't accept that then you got tell te judges that their wrong.
Although im routing for Kid David, Issei boutta go hard at BC ONE this year!!!
I can't honestly say who won though. I just feel Roxrite was undersold in originality in his second round.
idk. the OUR system just seems weird to me. but the judges definitely know what they are doing i mean it is a big event they wouldnt get judges that arent accomplished bboys. props to both of them that was close.

yuh but still dude.. its also about footwork and how clean u do it. and roxrite is very good at that

At least give issei some props he fuckin won at the age of 14 that's pretty impressive
There's a creativity factor..

shoulder mills ?!

man that was dope right there
3:00
i think that move gave him the upper hand in that round
i enjoyed it
Lol, but he wasn't dancing to the music?
