i have driven polo of my friend and that car with 90 bhp is so much fun . Ameo with 110 bhp would be an absolute killer
This may not be a game changer in the Indian sub 4 meter segment, since we Indians tend to compromise on Quality, Safety and most of us will still flock to a Maruti or a Hyundai. For someone who appreciates solid build, great quality, elegance in simplicity and fun to drive car - this is the best one in its segment. It is competitively priced and is a great package given its features and dare I say its understated cool looks.
and how about the after sales service? even those people would rather stay away from Volkswagen and Skoda!

after watching this review i bought a highline diesel. its a really nice car. thanks autocar ..your review was very helpful. am also told that vw has started manufacturing spares in india. so the cost of maintenance is gonna go down. i bought it in march and already clocked 7500 kms. its time for free checkup. lets see.

Everything extraordinary except back seat but as a family car back seat comfort is much important than any other feature.

the older 1.5/1.6 TDI delivers 105ps@ a rather higher 4400rpm but now it produces 110ps at much lower 4000rpm along with that even the torque output remains the same 250nm ... now it's available upto 3000rpm (in later it was 250nm btwn 1500-2500) which all together boosts up the performance and mileage as well

Ameo TDI DSG is a monster! Lovely car!
this is such a nice car.. all becoz of the dsg gearbox and the powerful diesel engine it has in comparison with other cars in this segment.. it has lot of features ...
ameo is really fun to drive car...... power, handling, assential features...
But only for 4 person
All vw diesel cars has heavy clutch, the clutch travel distance is higher. It’s so tiring while driving through bumper to bumper traffic
Can you please do a comparison between Ameo diesel and Aspire diesel ?
there is no huge difference between this car and vento... they look almost familiar. the engine is the same and moreover it is a bit more powerful than the vento

No both have same Power
LucKie Never! The new automatic comes with 6- speed torque converter! DSG is best among them & the features here in ameo like apple car play, andriod auto, cruise control, rear AC vents are missing in aspire!l
@@deepaksrinivasan8315 agree with u deepak.Most imp is auto.One who drives auto will always buy auto.Today i took test drive of aspire.Car is good,but many features are missing as u stated.I was confused betweem amaze,vento and aspire n i think i have made up my mind to get ameo
Nice video! I hope VW will be quick to get this motor into the polo and vento as well. Skoda Rapid also deserves this motor..VW should really do something about their old 1.2 3cylinder MPI engine as competition has moved forward when it comes to refinement and efficiency. VW should watch out for the new swift and the Baleno RS...both will come with Suzuki's 1.0litre booster jet engine with a turbocharger. If VW has to stay up in this segment , they should immediately change and alter their plans get the new polo on the MQB platform in India.

it's a beautiful car ... with lot of features packed in it.. best is the automatic diesel version it's a gem of a car .. I loved it while using it in city and highway.. it's extremely fast compared to rest of the compact sedans.. since it's an excellent package we can ignore certain flaws like chopped off boot and little lack of legspace for 6 footers .
Hello Renuka...Can you also comment on VW car's suspension and engine life ? Couple of friends have already SUFFERED buying a VW (both Vento). They say after 70K kms the car started behaving abnormally. While for one of them suspension was the issue....he had to get it replaced...for the other one, he was advised to get engine overall done at an approx. cost of 3.5 Lacs. Just concentrating on putting good material and not engine or suspension wont help in the long run !
I think Heavy clutch issue is common in all vw cars. Experiencing first hand on my polo tdi and vento tdi.
How bad is it ?
Do you feel pain in your knees in bumper to bumper traffic?
It is supposed to be like that, unlike your cheaply-made Maruti

When the car is gone, only then you realise how good it was 1.5TDI with DSG. at such a competitive price. Nowadays below 10lacs there’s nothing apart from tincans.
Are there any plans to use DSG gearbox in Polo diesel ? Why hatchbacks are not getting automatic gearbox with diesel engines...

what does autocar recommends when the consumer had to choose between ford figo aspire diesel or volkswagen ameo diesel? plz suggest or give us a review on that, cause these two are the cars which give the maximum performance in its segment.
really there should be a comparison of ameo with the aspire dzire zest and amaze and last but not the least xcent

its amazing vehicle.
i have some doubts
1. There is a OFF ROAD option on central consol. how thus it work and what way in Ameo
2. Only right side rear fog light is working. i inquired in showroom, they said only one side works by default. is it true
aditya kanchumurthy yes,generally speaking all the cars with rear fog lamps have only one lamp on one side,
so that is Normal.
Is it worth to buy a Dec 2017 VW Ameo Highline tdi 1.5 DSG Automatic, done about 36K... I am getting some deal for around 6.5Lac. I have read news about DSG issues. Is it good to buy used automatic cars?

A really sports car the dsg version
was this car really required in the Indian market, what I mean is that the Polo already had a fairly large boot and practicality of a hatchback, one can fold down the rear seat in case of huge luggage and make it enter from the hatch's large door, this one cannot do in a sedan, instead of this they should have simply lowered the prices of Vento or released a lower priced version with just enough features to combat other ugly sub 4 metre sedans.

They end up being Airport Taxis
That's purposely done so that you spend a little more on the sedan equivalents.
Aspire 1.5 TDCI Titanium Plus or Ameo 1.5 TDI Highline, which one is the best overall package?
Go for Ameo as it feels more premium and its interiors are more impressive than aspire along with a long list of features......

timing with processor controlled, even gear shifting and acceleration are sensor based so cannot be blaming on injectors understand the technology before driving
