@Joe Aust I disagree. 24FPS let's much more light in and therefore the video is brighter. Also the camera has to work ten times harder at 60 which therefore causes battery wear and as a result less recording time. 24FPS is used in movies hence why they are so good with sharper quality.
So what is the advantage in 60fps? Slowmo which realistically would only give you half speed? Tom is on the right lines with his thinking. Memory capacity in terms of time recording is directly related to frame rate. 60fps, all else being equal, will use nearly three times the memory unless the camera auto adjusts compression ratios in which case all things aren't equal. Higher compression will degrade image quality and restrict what can be done in the edit before the image becomes unusable. Frame rate also affects shutter speeds - the higher the frame rate the higher your min shutter speed which in turn will generally push up the ISO leading to increased image noise. If higher compression is used it with force the in camera processing to work harder generating heat (never a good thing) and shortening battery life. All my cameras are set to 24fps. The phone, drone and GoPro to 4k. Not for final image quality but for flexibility in edit. The canon shoots in Clog. If the others offered log I'd use it.
