My 12 year old daughter is just starting to slap and this is very helpful. I really like the emphasis on footwork. I’ll look for more of your vids. Thanks for posting and being such a good role model for young athletes.
Natasha, my daughter and I love your channel. You are amazing! This is my 9-year-old daughter's first year playing softball, which is why I'm late to this video. She's naturally a right-handed hitter, but now bats left and slaps. Long story. The girl's just talented and fast and can do it. Thanks to you, I think she's going to keep getting better and better at it. She prefers to bring the foot in to center, by the way, and I think the toes and hips pointing to short will really help. Last night at practice she slapped to the 2nd base side of the pitcher. I was hyped by that mistake because it was a bang-bang play at first when she hit it to probably the worst part of the field ever for a slap hitter. Thank you.
My daughter is going into high school next year and her coaches want her to learn to slap. We are a big baseball family and don't have any clue where to start when slapping. What are the very very basic beginning steps to learning. Most things I have seen so far are how to perfect your slapping but not a step by step basic tutorial like this one. Thanks!

Hi Natasha! With drag bunting, do I want to point my landing foot to toward 2nd base? Thanks for any help! I'm training a few slappers and trying to learn all I can to help them!
My 6 year old is playing 8u and she switch hits. I was wondering if I should have her learn to slap from the left and standard from the right. Or have her hot the same from both sides any opinions?

I wish I could get our coaches to watch this video. They are teaching this completely wrong. They want everyone to start all the way back in the box and the first thing they say is to step through with the back foot. Basically just take off running through the box. They are also making everyone bunt from the left and then switch back if they're not. With them doing that and making slappers start way back they are giving away what there doing. My daughter has to fight with them every practice about doing it the right way.
@@NatashaWatley29 not really, I'd hoped to see more of an instructional/demonstration video, but this appeared more geared to more experienced slappers or those who've actually done it. My daughter is only 10 and I've only one girl in our 10U league attempt to do it.

I wish I could get our coaches to watch this video. They are teaching this completely wrong.
