  • I feel very privileged to have been able to fly to my friends private air strip and be part of this special occasion. The first time Harrier XV808 moved under her own power since 2006

    This was great to see; thanks for sharing!!! Quick question: any particular reason the wheel hubs were painted red? Not that this is saying much, but I've seen them painted grey most often.

      Yes the hubs are red to denote the wheels are for taxi use only not suitable for flight.

      Hovering is not flying, no license needed! Simples!

      @@ebikecnx7239 Pretty sure once an aircraft wheels are no longer touching the ground it would be classed as flying, a helicopter hovers and is classed as flying, personally I'd love to see this harrier killing the weeds and shifting the dust, then going for it......Always loved the flight scene in 'True Lies' where Schwarzenegger gets in that harrier and he's all over the place, then it all comes back to him and blasts away to save his daughter, epic bit of filming, even though it's not real it's still brilliant.
