It’s always a joy to see a new video, Malcolm. These visits always raise my spirits and I know they raise the spirits of all who stop by. Cheers from Georgia, America!
What a delightful book to be gifted! I treasure my opportunity to visit the remnants of the cathedral, see the children trees and climb the Tor on a misty morning back in 2011.
I always enjoy your videos and come away with the feeling that I've learned something wonderful. The Arthurian legend, Merlin and Avalon have always intrigued me.
Thank you so Much for another excellent and inspiring video! you are a true treasure I can confirm the double timing of the blossom of this wonders tree I when to Glastonbury Church in late December this year and saw it with my own eyes 😊
I bought my copy in Canberra, of all places, in 1967. I still treasure it, and reread it quite recently. Since then I have visited Glastonbury on many occasions over more than 50 years. Not, though, for the festival!
Very interesting legend! This tree story reminds me of the white tree of Gondor, that died during the threat of Sauron but a new shoot was found again.
God.Bless Malcolm! God Bless Joseph of Arimathea! I believe those feet did in ancient times walk upon England's mountains green... So, I will be reading your Athurian poems with great eagerness! All the Christian best to you for 2025 from a fellow 'traveller' and poet who has now.planted.his own staff in central Mexico! ❤
Hummmmm. Your videos are like cinnamon spiced roast apples, sweet warm chai latte, by the fireplace, on a cold snowy night; at Christmas time, with the family around!! A true delight
All Hawthorns have a magical quality. I remember coming across one on the South Downs which was ɓeing used as a wishing tree - it was bedecked with fluttering ribbons. It's interesting that one originated from the Holy Land in accordance with the legend.
Hi Malcolm! The mystery of Glastonbury captured my imagination over twenty years ago. I am always fascinated to read or hear of anything associated with it. The hints about your Arthurian project tickle my curiosity. I am looking forward to the day when you pull back the veil.
In my garden Malcolm I have a full grown well aged Hawthorn Tree and I look forward to it's blossom every year...now that I know the species originated from the Holy Lands I'm going to light up this Tree next Christmas in honour of our Lord Christ Jesus...thankyou for your wealth of truly interesting knowledge.
Very entertaining video and that book looks fascinating. I picked up on what you said about the darkest roots of our history, and there is something magical about our history both pre and post Roman Invasion.
The interleaving of England and the faerie realm makes me think of Susanna Clarke's Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell, which I now think has deeper English roots than I knew. Best of luck with the poem.
Malcolm refers to his books as if they were brandy in a glass spilling their contents onto the ground below, where they sit in motionless pools. Can someone please bring out the brandy for this gentleman 🥃
Very interesting - something about the action of the thorntree reminded us of the parable of the mustard seed - do you think there's a metaphysical or spiritual link here? We wish you well in your writing efforts, and appreciate very much the wealth of your thoughts shared here. Love to you both 💕 💙
I was struck by the name Wearyall hill. As you mentioned it is probably from the same root as Wirral (therefore from old English “myrtle tree” + “corner”). However as a speaker of Welsh it struck me as being cognate to the word “Gwiriol” meaning true positive or genuine. The staff of Joseph being all of these!
That's interesting on two points. 1)Numbers 17:1-13 Aaron's rod blossomed and produced almonds as a sign to the Israelites so a Christian must find the origin of this legend plausible at the very least. 2)My dad always said that trees can produce fruit twice in the year. On the day they're planted and in season. All fruits trees we've tried it with do the same. People's faith can make things happen.
Hello Malcolm, I hope you’re well. I’m currently recovering from flu, so prayers would be sincerely appreciated. As always you have brought a book to us that is simply incredible. I appreciate you have a lot on your plate, but even if it were a quarterly, would it be possible to release a reading list/recommendations with a brief synopsis? God bless you
Malcolm: Just for fun I asked an AI to create an image of Treebeard speaking to Merry and Pippin. Guess what resulted? A tall shaggy character with the face of the Greenman right off your bookshelf.
Saw the thumbnail for this video and was reminded of a great "children's novel" called Brendon Chase, by author and illustrator 'BB'. I'm almost certain that you know the book, so I won't ask ;)
Hello 👋 what's your favorite smoke blend when doing your videos...my favorite videos of yours is anything Tolkien and I'm a newcomer to your channel and was curious your favorite blend like Tolkiens favorite

I’m in North Georgia. 🤝
I visited Georgia once, in ‘63 when Stone Mountain was half done!
They do indeed!

that's an interesting connection!
Malcolm, thank you again for your inspiration. Certainly wish you well and great anointing for your poem which I'm very much looking forward to.
Your voice is so beautiful and you give me peace. Thank
I need to find a copy of that book! We are now looking forward to hearing more of your poem, Malcolm!!!
Love following up Sunday worship with another video in the study

Hugh Ross Williamson! His autobiography is delightful & his “The Great Prayer” is a loving tribute to the Latin religious tradition.

Always a pleasure to stop by!
“Complete depredation” a wonderful and accurate phrase.
Best wishes on your new writings, Professor Guite. 🙂

A lovely video to be sure, Malcom! I first read some of the King Arthur tales when I was younger; perhaps I ought to get back into it!
I would love to hear you sing a few songs!
Looking forward to reading your Arthuriad.

Hi Malcolm I love your Aurthian videos. I'd love to go to Glastenbury but travel isn't easy for me. I'll look up The Flowering Hawthorme
Always a great pleasure.
Wonderful stuff.
Tree of life springs to mind
I enjoyed it.
I can only imagine the smell of Malcolm’s books. :)

Lovely story.❤
Thank you.
Cheers, Dr. Guite!
Thank you for you r good content my friend :)
This is such a bastion of peace in my youtube algorithm
What I would love to know is where are the blazers, waistcoats and shirts purchased from? Very smart attire!
Having some Elizabethan Mixture in my Peterson 314 when I saw you just post a new video. Cheers from North Carolina USA.
I also enjoy elizabethan mixture!

That's very interesting. There's often more than one possible genealogy for a given word!
Yes, indeed, and we’re never 100% sure and that adds to the mystique….looking forward to hearing more of your Arthurian Cycle soon.
You have many NIreland connectoons Malcolm.
I have friends there
About time you spent some time with the works of John Cowper Powys!
Mr. Guite is Anglican. I wonder if he's ever attended a Divine Liturgy? A curious Orthodox Christian in America.
I think a single malt is in order. Preferably a non chilled filtered natural colour, Wee Beastie or a Loch Gorm

Are you familiar with Watership Down? It would be awesome if you covered it.
Love the Boss Tr2 in the back! Do you play electric guitar??
yes, I have a strat and a tele
@@MalcolmGuitespell Nice, my dad has a Telecaster as well. I don't but that's okay because I play the drums.
