Kanji is built strictly in a factory because it's man-made for usages in various levels, yet the latin letters are grown in caves and mined for usage later in level names and speaker boxes.
i do genuinely like how a lot of the levels in this hack are just levels. Like there's nothing special going on in some of them besides "hey. play good and get to the end of this one"
It'd be neat if the damage done to the letters in the alphabet level triggered asm that edited the game's font. So like, you take out the side of o, you get ɔ for the rest of the game, or at least until you reload a save.
Maybe, a bit more feasibly, something like this could be the intro level. Then at the end, the screen looks familiar, & you get the default intro text box with the "Looks like Bowser is at it again" blurb... And it's butchered accordingly. :3 Then, with that being a one-off custom object for the gag, the text returns to normal for the rest of the game.

Raocow, you do realize you could have just used one of the throw blocks literally right next to the P-switch area to get in without having to just get all there way there with a powerup, right?
These levels had a bit of the issue I complained about in Sami Roll, where it feels like having collectables kept after death diminishes the intended challenge. It’s not a huge issue though, because there’s also been a few levels where it would have _really_ sucked to not keep Dragon Coins.
Hara Castle [ 4 | DC4 ]: Welcome to time pressure! TICK TICK TICK! Hurry or Perish! [ 4 | DC4 ]: Welcome to time pressurer! Cave of the Latin Alphabet [ 3 | 3 | DC3 ]: Oh, no wonder I got annoyed by the level, I got the secret exit from the checkpoint... welp.
Hara Castle has a moon. Let's see if you get it or if I'll end up making another video... Death count: 314 (10 today) Goal tape average: 662 / 27 = 24.519 (65 / 2 = 32.5 today, not counting 16:46) Normal moon count: 4/10 (1/1 today, at 4:48) (0:26) I feel like I should know the name of the music here... (0:30) Yep, so you can actually bring a Yoshi into this level if you wanted. (1:10) Wow, nice. The obvious way to get that Yoshi coin is to enter the short pipe above from the right. (1:24) HARRY UP! (1:28) Derp, you already knew what that pipe would do. You didn't have to waste time and power ups checking it. (1:36) And then that football's randomness finishes you off for today's first death. (2:22) Welp, old SMBX crashed. :P (2:42) HARRY UP! Yeah, this level doesn't give you very much time. (2:55) Somehow, I was expecting that to happen. Should've iced the Lava Lotus instead. (2:59) Or, you can successfully spin jump over the Lava Lotus. That works too. Nice. (3:10) Fireballs can be handy here, since the Ninjis and pigskins are flammable and inflammable. (3:22) Fortunately, you get a fresh time limit for the second half. (3:57) HARRY UP x2! (4:43) Nice ascending combo there! The game let you get away with stomping the Mechakoopa while ascending because you had just stomped the Parakoopa, and thus had a stomping combo greater than zero. (4:48) MOOOONNN!!! Huzzah! I'm glad you didn't miss this very easy moon! (5:29) Immediate HARRY UP! Huh... On my game, which is indeed on v1.1, the game doesn't play the timer warning sound effect when I start this level. Weird. (5:31) I love the explanation of the gimmick here. (5:37) These clocks are worth +10 seconds each. (6:13) Welp, time over. (7:10) It probably would've been nice if this midpoint reset your time to 25. (7:18) Although, the timer gets reset to 25 here, so I guess it's okay. Also, I do properly get the timer warning here on my game. (7:27) Oh, no... You're misassuming things due to the misleading hint. You still want to collect the clocks, as they do still add +4 seconds here. I call shenanigans on the text box implying that you lose time for touching the clocks, when that's not true. (7:32) What the heck? I call shenanigans on you just falling through the Mega Mole there, but at least that caused you to fall onto the clock and notice they still add time. (8:00) Time catches up with Mario again. (9:13) Would've been nice if you didn't epic fail on missing that block every time. Also, on my game, the block is already brown when I arrive at it. What? ...Okay, so I checked Lunar Magic, and it's a case of Item Memory Index overlap. Both halves of this level have Item Memory Index 0, and the block there which should contain a 1-up is in X position B7 on subscreen 0. In the first half, the leftmost coin next to the clock at 7:05 is also in X position B7 on subscreen 0. So, collecting that coin causes this 1-up block in the second half to be treated as if it's already been hit if you get to it on the same life. To fix this, simply change the Item Memory Index of level 079 to any other value besides 0. (9:44) Nom. (9:49) Chipmunk time. (10:20) And, it turned out you had gotten nommed just before the end. (10:24) Nice 40 hit there! (11:20) This level is sponsored by A the Safety B. :P (12:01) .......... .......... SPLAT!! (13:22) It is now canon that giraffe shall henceforth be spelled jiraffe. :P (14:01) Epic fail. No P prize for you this time. Well, unless you think to use the nearby ice blocks from the Q just ahead, but nah, your cow brain didn't think like that this time. (14:49) Nicely done! That Yoshi coin is indeed a bit tricky. (14:54) Pfft... And then you go and do that. Welp. (15:03) Aw, no power up given when starting this level from the midpoint? (15:51) Barf. (15:54) I call shenanigans on that one. This is Nintendo's fault, not the hacker's fault. It makes no logical sense for Sparky to be able to hit you through the corner like that. (16:46) Note: I will not count this goal as part of the goal tape average, because you're forced into it by a cannon launch entrance and have no choice but to get a zero. (Well, technically, you can approach it from the right side and hit the goal tape normally, if you choose to do so while on the secret exit route. I'm still not counting it here.) (16:55) LOL, how silly. I'm not counting that goal hit towards the average either. :P (17:07) More chipmunk time. (17:42) P prize procured!
... I think TH-cam is fucking up; I have a feeling I double commented, but I can't actually find the double comment to remove the extra one lol Either that or both disappeared. Anyway What I was saying is I believe that is indeed a correct usage of the word "Emancipate".
Emancipate: to free. Also, can't you safely stand on the hopping statues like the one in the V there? That would've been a lot easier for getting the big coin.
@@randomnpc445 Wow, that would make for a difficult spin jump. One pixel off and you're hitting the ground to either side instead, and possibly eating a hit.
The time level was pretty neat but the other two didn't really do much for me I'm sorry to say Ah well they can't all be 5 star masterpieces and they certainly weren't BAD

The way the Latin Cave ended shows that everything after P is optional. One could just do the Secret path twice.

there's literally one in yump kinda
iirc it was an unused level for JUMP1/2 I wanna say?
