    There's really no need to use D/F# - the plain D works for this because it isn't Jazz and there's no passing tones during the chord change.

    You are keeping the high G in the D/F# chord. Is this intentional?

      Yeah, with the high G it's almost like a Dsus4 chord (if you don't play the F# on the 6th string). So it's somewhere b/w a D/F# and a Dsus4... Is there a name for that?
