Even if he's a stubborn gotta feel for the old man. Imagine researching something your entire life only for it to be turned over when you're practically on your death bed
Another character we’ve only known for just a few episodes is now gone😔 I swear the author has the gift of making me care for a character who I barely just met. Hell, even that nameless hooded heretic from a few episodes back seemed interesting lol.
I really love how they are blending these historical events into a single narrative. The full Venus was actually discovered by Galileo. The old fella who horded his astronomy data was Tycho Brahe, and I assume Badeni, Jolenta, and Oczy are in place of Kepler, trying to fine tune the details of heliocentrism. I'm looking forward to seeing where this series ends!
i saw him staring at the sky was him reaching to heaven, as he said he can finally speak to his master and tell him the truth, seeing his master in the sky as he reaches out with his hand.
Somehow, my first thought when I saw the starry sky towards the end of the episode was "the heavens welcome you now". I kind of like that thought, especially with the theme the series has. That moment when Jolenta described reading gave me something of a Dr. Stone "science is awesome" vibes, and I'm here for both this specific instance and the show as a whole in general! When it comes to the centuries of records - it might seem like it was all in vain when the final goal was to prove the geocentric theory, but if pursuit of and perfecting the truth is the actual goal, then they're still far from wasted! If anything, various discoveries seem to arise from happy accidents when something fails stated purpose in a particularly successful way.
If I'm not wrong the drawing was close to the Heliocentric theory contrary to the weird and complexe drawings in which earth would be the center of the univers.
I wonder if badeni will ever have emotions. he's so crass. just straight to business..on a side note, even though this anime is heavily underrated, maybe even less popular than vinland saga, it really is a good show and story..its just not the flashy sort of show.
That's part of the reason why I love the writing so much. I love how raw some characters are. The author is courageous enough to write protagonists who have severe flaws and may not be liked by audiences. For me, it really makes his characters more memorable and unique.
I get your pain 🤣 When i read the manga, it hurts too much especially when I commit to a character and the character is ☠️ These two episodes really establish the real depth of the series. Progress is driven by constant skepticism and that humans advance by challenging egos, existing systems and beliefs. Dogma, fear, egos need to be put aside to make way for innovation and change
I’m happy that Orb does well in Japan. This means that there is a high possibility that we will get merch for it, and it will be a dream come true for me!
I really liked how in episode 6 the mercenary literally learned how to read and write for the sake of some stargazing scene, and then forgot how to do it and in the following episodes even asked others what it was like to be able to read.
I think nobody is watching the anime because nobody is really talking about it. I started the series yesterday and stayed up until 5am to catch up. I only started it cause I saw it pop up randomly on Netflix
As long as they don't kill off Badeni, I don't care (he most likely wouldn't care either and say something profound/interesting about it like he usually does).
I still didn't find the time to start watching it, but I heard from everyone it's great + I'm Polish, so obviously, right? When I saw the title I just had to see and I was afraid it actually became shit. Thanks for the first sentence you said. I didn't need to get spoiled to learn what you meant, lol. Sorry for lowering the retention rate though.
Imo, he was old af, but I think he was unmoored by the realization that his life's work was wrong, and didn't have that strong conviction to push on for a few more years. I wonder if we're gonna get homegirl teaching him how to read, but even if that doesn't happen, as much as we take reading for granted these days, I really felt her speech at the end, because it's still as true now as it was during those times. I'm anime only, but I can already see her going against the priest's advice if they're caught, and appealing to her dad if he's the one who catches them.
My only question is - How had no one ever seen Venus' full-phase before now? All they had to do was look up and see it and disprove the old man's theory.
they can only see it once per however many months and you need to have god level eyesight ontop of the sky being perfect for viewing. and anyone who claimed it to be in full would just say it's too far out to prove it's full and not your eyes playing tricks on you
@@AHBrandonReviews - Oh. Okay. So basically, the old man knew someone had to not only have an INTEREST in knowing about the phases, but also eyesight on the level of his AND the opportunity to see it.
Geocentric model was the assumed truth. It's likely that no one that saw it was aware of it's full implications or even cared about them Of course this doesn't rule out other cultures but in this story, they are 'aware' that Geocentric is the truth and nothing can contradict it Edit: Another way if phrasing is that since they believe Geocentrism is the absolute truth, any contradiction they find is the fault of imperfections in their models, NOT the theory itself. In this case, they are open minded about considering that the theory is false in face of an alternative.
I mean lets be real, even nowadays, with all the education/knowledge we have, unless we look it up, or if social media/news are talking about it, tell me when was last time you looked up on the sky and noticed anything and be like oh yeah look at this, today is xxx beside the obvious one (full moon..etc) unless this is your interest/passion (along with help from modern tools/tech) let along the education level/ whats drilled into them and too busy surviving the world and sleep super early in today standard (due to no modern light and most ppl need to get up early and do labour intensive work )
yeah with so many things in the sky plus all the variable to see it ontop of even questioning the law of the universe, it basically was hidden in plain sight

Both scenes with the old men realizing they were wrong during their entire life were really touching.
Even if he's a stubborn gotta feel for the old man. Imagine researching something your entire life only for it to be turned over when you're practically on your death bed
Of course. Imagine spending yout whole life proving nothing, Being wrong
Damn this show’s premise is so simple but It hits you right in the feels 😢

There seems to be a pattern with: character gets dangerously close to an answer, then dies.
I wonder what he wrote in that journal.
If I'm not wrong the drawing was close to the Heliocentric theory contrary to the weird and complexe drawings in which earth would be the center of the univers.
Poor Piast realising he lived his whol
whole life in the wrong. At least he could see a small part of the truth before his end
Very emotional episode this week

The Count Piast crying scenes reminds me of when Thorfinn was crying when he apologized to the people he killed.

Okay but could you imagine the type of merch? Like it'd be fun to have astrolabes and wax tablets.

Sadly, no one is talking about this show outside of Reddit. The season's spotlight is on more flashy shows.
This story is beautiful.
The episode too
As long as they don't kill off Badeni, I don't care (he most likely wouldn't care either and say something profound/interesting about it like he usually does).
that book fell from piast
i am expecting someone is gonna find that and basically report it and then badeni will die
@@AM17titan I'm guessing that would depend on who finds it.
@@ThomasHall-r5i knowing the trend is about people getting killed at the end
It would no surprise that a wrong person finds it

Oh it's quality it's just pain with connecting to characters lol
Here's the manga reader. It's a great series confirmed. ✅

this is almost on par with one of my favorite animes “Space Brothers”
old bro couldn't handle the truth

another underdog this season
I forgot which TH-camr I watch advertised it but I'm happy I gave it a chance. Real life lore can be very captivating.
I think they all gonna die until Copernicus shows up at final episodes
so peak
yeah one of my favs for sure
