Jesse Jagz is arguably the most intelligent rapper in Nigeria. He is a freaking poet.
You really need to check out "God on the mic" by Jesse Jagz and so many of his music .
The whole crew who who started Chocolate city including MI, Jesse Jagz and Ice prince revolutionized hip hop in Nigeria and Africa back in the day, no one could stand up to them. They gave African rappers the confidence and exposure they all have today. You really need to look into these 3 rappers properly.

Yeah! I wanted to mention this. I couldn’t believe my ears/eyes when this happened. First and foremost, thank you very much for reacting to this song. I have requested this particular song and some other of his songs on different channels to no avail. I’ve seen some of your reactions (the martell cyphers) and I sincerely did not subscribe to your channel because I did not agree with some of your opinions especially about AQ. Well, I just subscribed.
The fact that you reacted to this song and understood everything he was doing, I’m talking about the melody of the song, the consciousness of his rap, the ad-libs and most importantly the message is the reason I subscribed. Even some Nigerians can’t relate to this song the way you just did. I’m so happy because this is easily one of my best Jesse Jagz’ song.
Secondly, I subscribed because you actually do your research. The lot of you don’t, they just come on, react to a video and then say some ignorant shit which is disrespectful af. The research that you do is the reason why you can easily identify the angles where our artistes are coming from. I really appreciate that.
TO ANSWER SOME OF YOUR QUESTIONS:
Yes. Jesse is a conscious rapper. I mean he does it all (any sub-genre of rap) and also produces for himself and other artistes and yes he produced this one. He kind of graduated fully into being a conscious rapper with the album that this song is in. The album’s name is JAGZ NATION, VOL. 1: THY NATION COME
He experiments with different sounds. This is like a hiphop meets dancehall kinda music and the message is simple and clear: The world we are living in is shit and it’s worse for us AFRICANS, there’s no love coming from any angle. Everyone is on their own and that is why we all seek a supernatural savior from different religions but for him, his own religion in this case is The Rastafari Movement and that’s why he’s seeking the face of Haile Selassie
And YES. We are sleeping on him in this country. We don’t know how blessed we are to have Jesse Jagz be amongst us.
Furthermore, I can see you love this song. So, imma do you a solid and direct you to react to 2 songs namely: GOD ON THE MIC (Jagz Nation Vol.1 album) and A (Garba EP).
Please trust me on this. After you’re done reacting, I bet you’ll ask me for me.

He makes his own beats and produces himself. This was one of his diversions when he started practicing the Rastafari religion. This was targeted to when comments emerged about him condemning his excess blazing. So he brought this out to shift the narrative and introduce a higher learning which at the time was too ahead of it’s time for the Nigerian market. Jagz Nation, Vol.1. Thy Nation Come. That's the name of the abulm. I have personally listened to all the songs there and I can assure you that it's good stuff. You would have a great time reviewing every song there but that's only if you would have the time to. Thanks for finally doing a score card on one of his songs. I have been waiting for this. In your spare time also listen to his freestyle on Tim West Wood. He's a natural and I wish he gets more recognition. He definitely deserves it. He's my favorite Nigerian Artist.

The dude that appeared at the intro with him you thought was Dave Chapelle is "Khali Abdu" You should check out his music..another dope MC from J town. Grew up listening to his lyrics, and he's also a great lyricist. My favorite back then was "Heroshima" where he sampled J.F.K 1961 inaugural speech... before killing the hook.
JFK.."The world is very different now. For man holds in his mortal hands the power to abolish all forms of human poverty and all forms of human life. And yet the same revolutionary beliefs for which our forebears fought are still at issue around the globe--the belief that the rights of man come not from the generosity of the state but from the hand of God.
We dare not forget today that we are the heirs of that first revolution".
