How adjuvant therapy like chemotherapy works and is it mandatory ??? If mandatory then why and how ??? Chemotherapy kills cancer cells and at the same time normal cells too which are most important unlike cancer cells. And , if cancer cells grows very fast ( as you all claim) than normal required cells of the body then it means chemotherapy does not have any role to play in decreasing cancer. It is simple. If normal cells grow normally like 1 to 2 , 2 to 3 , 3 to 4 and cancer cells grow very fast like 1 to 2 , 2 to 4, 4 to 8 then it is proved that chemotherapy has no role to play , instead of curing cancer it further deteriotes it because it kills normal cells too. Is not it ??? Plz explain.

In general / in broad terms traditional chemotherapy kills both normal cells and cancerous cells .. normal cells have systems in place to repair the damage and get back to normal state , while cancerous cells rarely possess such ability.. but if you take each class of drugs used as chemo in treating cancers they all differ in their mode of action .. so it’s difficult to generalise . Recent / promising advances are occurring in this field like targeted therapy which target the alteration at molecular levels , and immunotherapy which makes our own immune system to fight and clear cancer cells ..
