    Thanks Very much. Great instructional video, and with no oral explaining - none needed! Surprised. Excellent!

    Everyone just be aware of the fact that - as I understand it - fitting of the grips is not intended to be that way: you should slide the grips in while horns already attached (without end caps), and the bar should come all the way until it covers the green part. That way, you're sure that when you tighten the grips they are well secured... Doing that as shown in the video might lead to cracks or grips rotating or sliding. It could be fine, but the risk is there. As I experienced it, even on new Bromptons (post 2017) you should trim 10 to 15mm of the grip in order to have a good fit, also depending on where you move the brake levers. Added benefit is also that shorter grips have more clearance from the ground when bike is folded!

    There are two sizes for GP2 to choose from. I have ERGON GP2-S grip which is 94.5mm in length which should fit those who have glove size 6.5-8.5(S/M). The other GP2 ls large grip which is 102mm and should fit glove size 8.5-10.5(L/XL) Both sides of the grip are of the same length. The grips are mounted on my Brompton with M handle bar. When the proper adjustment of the horn angle is properly set, the grip will not touch the ground when folded. Thus no interference when push or pulling the bike in folded positions. The end stop of the grip is not removable so you can't mount rear mirror with the grip.

    So this mean we don’t need to trim the grip in order to fit? I saw other videos suggesting trimming by 10mm on the grip. Will this be the same for GP1? Thanks

    Om. Brompton saya H handle. Brake lever sdh di dorong full ke dalam. Saat pasang ergonnya ga sampai full masuk handlebarnya ke ujung handle yg paling luar ywh

    • @asiamura
      @asiamura  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      H dan M itu dimensi handlebarnya sama. Beda di stem (leher) aja. Kalau ergon yg dipasang sama tipe seharusnya bisa masuk. Ada yang dipasang dengan memotong sedikit karetnya, tapi sayang deh.

    hello, so you didn't have to cut off the grip right?

    • @asiamura
      @asiamura  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Nope, just move the brake lever a little bit.

    Is it possible to fold your Brompton without the horn of the Ergon GP hitting the ground? I made the mistake of buying the GP4-L, which feels great to hold while riding but stops the handlebars from folding without hitting ground.

    • @asiamura
      @asiamura  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Of course GP4-L is to big. Even for GP2 still hitting the ground. But if you don't have problem with the horn angle, then it might be good. Turn the horn lower than 30° but it will not comfortable while riding compare to 45°

      @@asiamura In the end I went for the Ergon GP1 and they work fine when fully folding the Brompton. The grips are far more comfortable than the Brompton originals. It's a shame though, that I couldn't fit the Ergons with a horn for the extra hand position. I'll use the GP4s on one of my other bikes.

      @@daleherbert9276 Do you need to trim the GP1 grip in order to fit? Just by moving the levers will do the job without modifying the grip? I’m going to replace my original grip which my wife has been complaining about numbness. Thanks

      @@wlimfy Hello William. Moving the brake/gear levers will help somewhat, but I have found that the Ergon GP1 grip that is at the bottom when the bike is folded still comes into contact with the ground. There is a very small amount of clearance if the ground is completely level but sadly, most places where I need to fold my bike have uneven ground. Knowing that the grip will scrape on the uneven ground means that I never roll the bike when folded. I am planning to retrofit a rear luggage rack, which I hope will make things better for rolling. Even with the slight contact with the ground, I am really glad that I switched grips and wish that I had done it sooner. If you give me a nudge in a couple of months time I'll let you know if the rear rack made the improvement to clearance/rolling that I hoped for.
