It's definitely a constant adjustment to balance life, work, and creative endeavors. Also: yes to booting short form content. I dislike it, but see how successful it helps some people become, so it feels like a necessary evil. I'm an indie author and otherwise creative person! An 11 day streak is nothing to sneeze at!

New subscriber here! The vibes in this video were amazing and I feel you on the long form content. I'm getting back into writing again after a multi-year hiatus and am flirting with the idea of posting about my process. It can be so hard to do for fun what you also must do for work, no matter how much you love your job. This might have been the final push to actually edit some of the footage I've taken and post. Can't wait for the next video! 🫶🏻
Felt so seen!! It’s been a struggle picking my manuscript back up. Took a break in June and the summer just continued to be so so busy. And now into Fall, I’m slowly getting back into writing. Thank you for making this video! I feel less alone in trying to balance everything in life. (Side note: love the music in your video!)
And the statement about not writing doesn’t meant you’re lazy…. So true!! I love my kids and husband but I’m thinking about writing and my books and the business of it almost all the time.
Keep on going! I have always had a passion for writing and trying to figure out my creative side as well. I started created content on YT recently and really like it, but have also fallen into a rut due to burnout from my full-time job. We never know what lies ahead but I have faith it will grow into something more.
@@sarahnicole6944 I think that as long as we commit to pushing forward, that’s all that matters. It’s okay to stand in the same spot and catch our breath-as long as we don’t go backwards, that’s progress! You’ve got this! 🤍
I also struggle with being able to read other people's books while writing my own books, which is honestly a problem cause I can't learn to be a better writer if I'm not reading. But having to edit other people's books while working on your own sounds like that problem but 100 times harder to manage. I'm so happy for you and impressed that you managed to find a solution that seems to work for you! Also love the fact that you are staying away from short form content! I try to avoid it too, but there's always a little voice inside my head saying I'll never be able to successfully sell my books and make a living as a writer if I don't get myself on tiktok.

You've captured beautifully one of my most core struggles... and I say that as a person who isn't operating in much of a creative capacity. Working a 9-5 which is really more of an 8 to 6 and then trying to find any ounce of creative energy is so difficult and I haven't been able to do what makes the most sense... start getting up before dawn to follow my hearts desires. It's quite an exasperating dilemma. Thank you for sharing.
i love your nature footage!! and i agree with needing silence in nature for creativity-how else are you supposed to hear to your own voice above the thousand other noises vying for your attention? i’m so glad i found another writing channel to watch

So happy to see you on here...moving forward is not always easy - but it is rewarding (the lessons learned, the knowledge received, while sometimes difficult and frustrating, is always that rainbow we all search for and want in our lives. Well, in my cace I'll take the Unicorn and/or Dragon that fly over or just magickally come through the rainbow - what can I say? I know I am 'unique' and finally learning to love that about me. You my friend, are the stars in the universe...shining bright and bringing smiles to all of us. You got this..
What a gorgeous vlog! Your nature shots are so lovely. We're also in a tiny home whilst building a property (in the UK), and trying to write at the same time is... challenging. I've been vlogging the process somewhat erratically, but like you, I find myself taking looong breaks from social media and struggling to go back. I suppose I might find balance one day, but I suspect I'd end up being bored!

I'm also a freelance developmental editor and I have the same problem with not having enough energy to work on my own stuff. I also make writing vlogs. Tho im very new to it.
Ah for me it's the opposite of your type of job. My job is not even remotely creative, it's just a bunch of filtering data until my mind is basically mush and cannot function any longer, and creativity is hard to come by after 8 hours of that. Dunno how to help myself at this point :')
This is so much easier said than done, especially if you love sleep, but is it possible for you to get up a little earlier / start your work day a little later so you can do some writing before your job has sapped all your brainpower? I'm a data analyst and I 100% feel what you're talking about!
