Poilievre accuses Trudeau of "exploiting" wildfires to distract from "high-interest rate policies"

  • Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre went toe-to-toe with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on debating the Bank of Canada’s interest rate hike Wednesday during question period.
“Tonight, families will sit down with their kids at their dining room table to say ‘sorry, but we have to sell the house because mortgage payments are going to go up by as much as $1,500 per month,” Poilievre said of Wednesday’s rate hike.
“Has he really sunken to the low of exploiting these fires for political gain to distract from his inflationary and high-interest rate policies,” Poilievre said in response to Trudeau as the two leaders went back and forth on the economy.
“He has no plan to fight climate change - he still questions whether it exists - while Canada is burning!” Trudeau shouted to the roaring applause of the Liberal gallery.

Keep in mind that he had already answered that question from PP a number of times at that point... Did you hear his prior response?
Currently they are raising interest rates to fight inflation, which I believe is a grave mistake when it's corporate profits and not wages that are driving the majority of the inflation we've been seeing.
The alternate solution is to raise the corporate interest rate, use that to balance the budget and provide additional assistance to those people who are struggling.

The avoiding questions, and gaslighting, and tax on tax of the liberal party is stupid as hell.
Unfortunatly, some of the polices the conservatives passed when last in power, and are still passing in locations where they are in power, are strait evil. Strait horrific dystopian evil.
In Ontario, the conservatives tried to pass a law without council that prevented unions from protesting. You know, that thing that is foundational to FREEDOM. They almost did it to, but the federal court struck it down. It didnt matter though, because the time it took the court to strike it down caused so much confusion they won anyway.
During covid at a late night session, they quietly passed a law that removed all the worker protections from being fired without cause.
When the federal conservatives were last in power, they banned canadas scientists from talking to the public. I shouldnt have to explain why thats a burning red flag. If you dont know, your doomed as a human. Your completely incapable of holding onto your freedom.
Theres a bunch of others but I will stop there. My point is as stupid as the liberals words are, their actions are less evil. Notice the term, less evil.
I can go the other way. I can name shady stuff they do too, that didnt even get reported because it would create the wrong waves. Im not saying theres not stuff to be angry about. But can you name anything?

The best way to combat this is to be calm, don't get drawn into the emotional tussle, but they want you to be dragged around a goose chase.

It showed that during the 1920,s and 30's the amount of acres burned was 10 times what it is today.... Luckily I was able to save that data before they took it down... Now it only displays the data from the 1970s forward. I wonder why they removed the older data, could it be because it contradicts their current narrative?
