Soft and light but precise tone, perfect diction. One of my favorite tenor voices:)Simply good. The tempo is a little slow, but perhaps Gedda chose it because he could completly sing out all these damm high notes with ease and full length:)
Not light at all! High spinto does mean"llight". The Gedda's voice is very "long", similar to Lauri -Volpi or Joan Sutherland, with the perfect sounded emission in any register. He is the only one in QUESTO SENSO! He is most authentic Max: Heroic and Young! I have all the records of this opera! This one [Gedda/Nilsson] is really the best: brilliance, power, articulation, quality of high notes(!) and...first of all ... CULTURE!!! But this Music! What a miracle!...
He was fluent in German as he spent several years of his childhood in Germany. He was gifted in languages. Sang in like a dozen of different languagues and spoke fluently in like 6 of them I believe. The guy was born in a billingual family. Fluent in 3 different ones at a young age. Gedda would definitely have a great career as a translator or diplomat at the UN.
Hi is ..... amazing....perfect!

Perfect German
I read somewhere that he spoke six languages fluently.

@unethicaldenier By yourself a good pair of ears!!!
