I just spent this last weekend researching for articles and information for a research paper. If I had attempted to do any of that with anything as low tech as walking to and searching through a library or twenty, I would have been liable to kill someone over how stressful that would be. Instead I was able to use the internet and some very useful search tools and online databases to fuel my paper. That and the fact that I live in Hawaii and basically need air conditioning to survive would make me say that technology definitely is making my life less stressful.
I think it is evolving stress for those who have lived before it. For those born into it like our 10 year olds and older I believe for them it would be normal stress. One of the stress is a kind of most interesting it is charging anxiety. how certain people act when their battery gets low on her cell phone. It's crazy. They act like life is ending. People have lead for two thousand years without a cell phone but when someone's battery gets low on their cell phone they act like they're going to die.
This all comes down to what you use it for. I have many gadgets that improve my daily life but am overwhelmed at the amount of information I am available to. I find myself wanting to research about 15 different topics and make schedules to do this, and end up stumbling on finding the time to do it all. It also lowers my stress though because of the entertainment and social aspect it gives which calms me down and makes me have fun. It depends on how you use it but overall reduces it.
I believe We are adding more and more stress to ourselves the more we evolve and expand technology. Back in the day there were one main key; to survive. The people was focusing on surviving rather than the thousand other stuff we in the present day worry about, like missed phonecalls, nuclear wars and job interviews..
Thank you for a great video. All of the videos are great and it is a great concept. Quickly becoming one of my favorite channels. I would say that there is a peak of additional stress in the beginning of a new piece of technology, followed by a lull in stress to to the benefits of said technology. Therefore it might look similar to the stock market....( the stress curve)
More stressful with the housing market and the need to pay bills food. Etc, before we all farmed ourselves, built own houses and had slower pace of life, we need stability, that is a real long term distresser
Technology can be used for good or evil. The evil have money to throw at it, so it makes me stress. I love technology, but hate money. Everything would be less stressful without money and open sourced.
It seems technology would make life easier. Instead what I notice was we just kept piling more and more on our plate, kept getting busier and busier. It didn't seem to make life easier but more stressful. The idea was get things done faster, more free time (roughly less stress). I think applying a little social engineering (I'm not sure if its truly a thing. I'm not an expert on social engineering and having little knowledge on it) but things like reminders and changes to our behavior, patterns and social attitudes and etiquette lined up with technology will help us - under preventative medicine in regards to stress.
Meditation helps me with stress. I do it every night to music or Hemi-Sync before going to sleep. ... Wait, did he say a search engine for search engine results?
I'd say it's up to the individual. There's a lot more opportunities today, and it can all be overwhelming, but we all have choices, and we make them everyday. So no, new technology and the future isn't more stressful. And if you think so, aren't you to "blame"?
It's definitely no doubt technology is adding to the stress in everyday life, people are exposed to it all the time , I think the simpler can be made the better, life's complicated enough.
There are certain types of technology that I dislike. I'm unwilling to ever get a computer that I control with my mind for myself and I'm absolutely unwilling to wear a terminator style contact lens. It's too weird and I don't like the idea of seeing wrong and seeing things that aren't really there. I don't care that it would enable me to be contacted any time without the bother of pulling out a cell phone which I still do not yet have. I'm still unwilling to wear one.
It is not about seeing things that aren't really there, it is about seeing things that ware always there but you ware unable to see it before. What is wrong or right how can you see wrong? Most af animals see differently than as. Is this video really there is it natural to watch millions of pixels act as one video?
technology is irrelevant, it's all about the people, some people make others stressful and some people are more easily stressed than others, technology is irrelevant, I believe.

"It's like an information black hole that we are all getting sucked to it."
Well said

Why does this channel not have more subscribers? And what's the theme at 1:59?
The more we advance in technology, the more shitty it'd be if we were struck by an EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse) and that stresses me out.
Both. Depends on how you use it and what technology you use.

Great video!
