I have all three of these and like them all. I alternate between them regularly (and some other fragrances) as the mood hits me. Kouros is one fragrance, however, that absolutely cannot be judged by spraying it on test strips. It also requires about 30 to 60 minutes to settle since the opening is rough. To the guys out there, if you spray it on your skin and wait about half an hour to an hour, you'll discover that Kouros is a masculine masterpiece. Hats off to Pierre Bourdon, the genius perfumer who came up with it.
Thank you for doing this. I love older stuff so I still wear these today but it's nice to see what others think about them too. Glad to see my favourite (Drakkar Noir) still get so much love. Goes to show that old frags are still very relevant today.
the reason one of the men didn't recognise drakkar was the fact his already wearing it so his nose wasn't picking it up. it might even be his signature scent
Put Drakkar Noir with the "best" of the modern fragrances and do a blind smell test, I bet it will do very well. Just because something is "old/vintage" doesn't mean it's bad or outdated.
the person to use kouros needs to understand it. This fragrance should be used on the abdomen, with a maximum of 2 sprays (summer) and 4 sprays (colder months). This way you will leave the right trail, where the civet note will play its role. it should not be used on the neck, back of the head or behind the ears… a big mistake
NICE. 💪 Antaeus the winner for me, but despite none of them looking to be the vintages, they all have their merits. Whether you feel like scaring people off or otherwise. 😉😂 Great to see the fragrances featured in a public opinion vid Erica!!
You need to test the vintage Drakkar Noir, i have 2 bottles, one from 1988 and the other from 1991.. i can send you small samples for review if u want 😊
Owned them all in my younger days but have purchased Drakkar Noir a few times but has definitely been reformulated and it's not a potent but still love it, Antaeus is difficult to get and when available it's really expensive but loved them all...
@@Coyote27981 depends on your body smell if you have a nice smell then weak fragrance is better but if your sweat is like a bit spicy than definetly something heavier
Smells like toilet water compared to early 90s. Much less integrity and quality. It's cheap now for a reason. Those 30-$40 fragrances in 1992 are now 120$ price levels if you want that same quality from back then
You guys don’t realize that Kouros doesn’t smell good in the beginning! Kouros shines and comes alive after about 2+ hours in the dry down. Turns into a totally different beast.
I have the modern iteration of Drakkar Noir, I am fond of it as my mom used to buy it for me when I was pretty much a kid... but a not in the 1980s... later than that... lol I also liked (and still do) Ralph Lauren's Safari. The modern iteration is not quite as good as the Cosmair original. And Cacharel Pour L'Homme was (and is) another classic that I love... One of the stores not far from me had a 6.7 ounce bottle of Drakkar Noir for the equivalent of less than 20 bucks a few weeks before Christmas.
Drakkar WINS, Kouros loses - what a SURPRISE. 🙄 Drakkar, despite its intense, brooding marketing/packaging, is actually an EASY, likable, crowd pleasing fougere, whereas Kouros is definitely more CHALLENGING, to say the least. So, if you're looking for an "easy grab" for daily use, it's def Drakkar, whereas if you don't give a f$#k what the rest of the world (or the opposite sex!) thinks, I'd go with Kouros. 😆
Drakkar was the pioneer of all recent smell of colognes this generation enjoy these days. They laugh at the smell saying it's an OLD SCHOOL scent but little did they know cologne makers took this idea for guy laroche to create variants that led to enormous creation of varieties of scents up to this point of time. The majority of folks wilk still pick Drakkar all day for this purpose. Anyway, I wore Draks in the 89's too in the Phil:)
Sadly, Drakkar has been watered down so much from the OG. The good news is Sauvage Elixer has taken its place…not the same, but in the same family and power-packed.
The smell of Drakkar Noir is so ubiquitous now. A lot of supermarket shampoo and shaving foams still smell like it. I don’t normally complain about reformulations but the current Drakkar Noir is by far the worst of these three in terms of performance. It’s a body mist. Maybe the new intense version is better. Kouros and Antaeus still have great performance.

classic you just smelled well groomed. i have been rocking it since age 25. now 40 still amazing.
Kouros needs to be worn on a Man walking down the street ... when you get a whiff off it you understand its magic
They won't understand.
I totally agree.
Kouros forever.
Drakkar Noir was a panty dropper in the 80’s and I’m still here for it ❤😂
😅 Wow why's that?! 😮
Yeah drakkar noir has old barbar shop fragrance.... I love it❤
Panty dropper... Nah... More of panties dried up.. 😂
Panty dropper... Lmao😂

Antaeus for me. If you added Quorum by Antonio Puig this would’ve been accompanied by a bunch of middle aged men in tuxedos straight out of 1982.

Dont ask a boy for a man’s opinion 😎
Drakkar is a timeless everyday classic for any age. Antaeus is more elegant formal tuxedo. I have no idea where anybody would use Kouros. A rest home?
Chanel Antaeus is a masterpiece
Timeless classic
I really enjoy your versus Erica

Antaeus had the silver cap, I think that means it is the vintage formulation?
More street battle’s please
Yea let’s go !
Drakkar was my fav in the 80s and 90’s, my ex wife loved it
Drakkar Noir has set you a condition - choose, me or your wife? And you chose him. You did everything right! )

Drakkar the original Suavage of its day , timeless scent aint going no where

Erica Darling, I still would like to see the gourmand "baby maker" street battle with your beloved Via Cavour 1 and others in that same category. ❣
I bought Drakkar Noir today and its amazing sexy and long lasting love it 😍 batch 2022

Love those 80s fougeres.
Drakkar Noir, Antaeus the classy everyday fragrances that make a man smell excellent!
Antaeus ❤ Real boss winter fragrance
Glad you put Antaeus in, too forgotten by people under Gen X :)

Tbf it was only ever going to be between Drakkar Noir and Antaeus. I thought Drakkar Noir would have won tbh...
Only Kouros
Guy = GHEE as in GEESE without the "S" sound

You missed Ted Lapidus pour homme in the bunch here, nice video tho. 👍
Kouros turns sweet and sexy when worn on skin. You can't judge it off strip.
Drakkar Noir is the best of course, women love it 🖤
Kouros ❤
Drakkar for the win for me. Kouros is okay (if sprayed moderately) (hubby loves it). And Anthaeus, no... Too animalic
The only memory of Drakar is giving me a headache
Should have added one man show by bogart 😊.
What a cool idea 😊
Antaeus!
I think drakkar noir is too rough/leathery. There is a way better alternative and it's much smoother and better

Hey Erica, hope you are well. Totally unrelated, but which is the Idole you like? I want to try it.
It's not pronounced Guy (as in Guy Laroche). It's pronounced Gee, he was French.
No...phonetically it's spelled: GI. Gee - would suggest a soft 'G'.
