John Annear had the right attitude running from the airport. Probably not good for the joints. But he seemed to play all the time and had passion to perform. Food for thought in the modern world where athletes are pampered.
Karl summarises his footy quite well. He was inconsistent. He did provide a distraction to the opposition. Knocking guys over. Mouthing off. The opposition fans loved to hate him. He did the heavy lifting and the other guys just did their business up forward. Good kick at goal. A mid sized forward that was pretty good overhead and a good kick. A tall flanker or a mobile CHF - take your pick.
