I think The Glow Pt. 2 could be a fun listen with your dad. Id suggest to follow it up with Mount Eerie as well since its like a sequel to it but I doubt he'd make it through the intro of Sun.
I like Mount Eerie more than The Glow Pt. 2, it just feels more like a single concise vision compared to The Glow Pt 2. That includes the 10 minutes of avant-garde drumming which I think is awesome.

It brings back more of the weird math rock aspects of schlagenheim while also keeping the organised chaos vibe of cavalcade. Also very proggy but you could probably tell from the singles.

if your dad doesnt like long tracks i suggest challenging him with The Monitor by Titus Andronicus -- of the 10 songs present, eight are above 5 minutes in length, and five are above 7 minutes. The twist is it's a super energetic album, and not a collection of atmospheric post-rock epics

Instead of voting for every one, you should let your dad pick once in a while so you have to listen to an album he thinks is interesting that you’ve never heard… just a thought. “Concorde” has a great metaphor inside. If you go a little bit deeper into the story of Concorde as a plane and how it stopped flying, you’ll be devastated. “Some kind of plane” my ass, that was literally faster than the speed of sound, so it feels like we shot a beautiful bird when you realize Concorde was forgotten.
Yeah snow globe should have a radio edit like death cab for cutie’s I will possess your heart…otherwise the first 3 minutes is prime real estate to use for background music for a drama. Haha
