    Thanks for the video!
    Two questions:
    1. If you only want want to replace the warning light at the bottom of the instrument panel, do you also have to take the whole instrument panel out, or can you reach those from underneath?
    2. If you replace the bulbs with LEDs, does the dimmer dial still work?

    I can add one thing that will make life easier - don't try wiggle it out sideways - tilt it straight forwards, lifting it up, but keeping it straight - the screw tabs will clear first, then move it straight towards you and the rocker-tabs will clear as well. Soon as you try wiggling it out sideways, it becomes a pita to remove - tilt forwards. Replacement is the same - straight in, no wiggling.

    • @PistonShack
      @PistonShack  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Greg,
      If I understood you correctly - your dash stays off when vehicle is running. Your problem 95 % on old VW is worn ignition key cylinder. I would go to try new key cylinder. It should fix the problem. Let me know.

      Hi. Rather at point of insertion of key - dashboard of no milage showing like yours. The when I move key to on position - that's when it shoes the IN02 error. So to follow your tutorial is not possible as the first part cannot happen on my dashboard. I believe it is matter of wiring somehow?

      @@PistonShack Thanks for this video and the tip from Daruka; I'm half way through the job and need to get a magnetic screwdriver to remove the last two screws. Drop those into the bowels of the dashboard and they will never be seen again. Btw, I wouldn't use scrap yard light bulbs, get new ones; I can't imagine having to do this again soon if they blow.
