I remember when I was attacked- at the age of 11 by a gang of school bullies. Couldn't fight all 8 of them, so chose to run away each time. As luck would have it, this emboldened the leader of the pack to think he could attack me by himself. My dad had always told me when tangling with a bully, make sure you hurt them worse than they hurt you. I got my attacker face down on the ground and rubbed his face into gravel. His howls were music to the ears, and he fled, sobbing, and bleeding, never to be seen again. Pain is the only language bullies comprehend.
coralarch I was bullied by a group of 16 bullies walking home from school I kept metal knuckles in my back pack and I put them on and I beat all the bullies up but the leader then he went after me I dropped the metal knuckles and I put him into a head lock and I then got into the position to snap his neck instead I snapped his arm that's how you deal with one
hi david im from australia i am 65 years old i have been into cqc all my life you remind me of me when i was young you are teaching it as it should be taught the right way great dvd keep up the good work
This is the most down to earth self defense I have ever seen (been a student since the 70's). Though I hadn't heard of David Alexander until a few days ago, I can openly say his method cuts to the chase with the least 'formal' training, is usable for women immediately, uses only standard motor skills abilities, and has only a few target acquisition requirements, which limits confusion on what to do. This makes it very efficient on top of the effectiveness. I take my hat off to David Alexander. Caveat: Yep, this isn't casual self defense; it's for life or death use only. Peace.
Dorian, thank you for the compliment of my system. It takes and says a lot for a long time martial artist to see the effectiveness for a new system. Coach David
Good self defense instructional. I'm hopeful everyone watching knows when such applications are necessary and recalls them if they ever are required. God bless.
The thing is is that he is teaching the exact opposite of what SEAL Teams SWAT teams and every other special forces teaches against you are supposed to focus on the knife and the arm with the knife and close the gap trap and take down Charles Wofford martial arts
In the 80s living in a South Bronx project, my high school daughter had embarrassed a neighborhood teen. The following morning, on the way to school, she felt him get close to her from behind. She then bent forward at the waist and grabbed his legs and pulled him to the sidewalk and kicked him into submission. Martial Arts for children, to me, is a given as it is done in Korea. It builds character and promotes health and maintains friendship. My teacher was Samuel Kuoha in the military. I also met Taimak & Fastfeet Fontanez; both of whom were in The Last Dragon movie. I was honored by knowing Professor Visitacion & Cowboy (Vijitsu) from Tracy Towers. In a way, we're all family.
I learned this 50 years ago. It was called "Destructive Self-Defense" back then. I tell people you do not want to start a fight with me, because I might kill you by "accident". They tell me that is "nuts". This is the only self defense one needs and only to be used in real self defense situations.
czr7j9 very few attackers in criminal encounters are formally trained. They fight in a feral manner. They have no rules. It’s important to be able to quickly finish a fight
This was brilliant, its a straight forward way of defending your self or more importantly your family, im a 55 year old grandfather, but i would go for this method if my family where in danger. Thanks David.
From my studies and training in WW2 combatives and TFT it's a damn shame people don't realize how simple self defense can be. All it takes is the knowledge of the vital targets of the human body and the will to attack those targets with everything you have during a violent encounter. Doesn't matter if they're a UFC fighter, bodybuilder, or a guy armed with a M 16, these tactics allow anybody to take anybody out of commission. As my mentor Carl Cestari said "Do your worst fast and first!"
Yes, everyone has vital points regardless of skill level. These could all be used by a slightly built woman to overcome a man.Keep it real for the real world.Good video-well done.
Hey, man. I'm a YT Creator who does Cop Watching, etc, and am compiling a playlist for my viewers to learn practical self defense. I just wanted to let you know that this video was my first choice for that playlist. I have been studying martial arts and practical hand-to-hand combat techniques my whole life, and I really like your system for its simplicity and effectiveness. Hopefully, I can drive some traffic to your channel and get more people interested in learning practical self defense in general. Thanks for putting this out there, and I hope to see more videos from you in the future! Stay safe, bro.
Wow every arm chair martial artist has an opinion... here's mine I have studied martial for 35 years in one form or another. Some more than others such as systemma and krav maga focus on combat both of which I am proficient in... David or should I say Coach BRAVO... nice job, for people who are untrained these videos are concise easy to understand and assimilate... anyone wanting to learn how to protect themselves watch and learn... keep it up Coach😁
I think that Krav Maga is good, but wastes a lot of movements. You also need to be pretty strong and in shape to defeat a larger and more aggressive attacker using Krav Maga. My system takes away the strength advantage and gives the advantage back to you. Thanks for watching! How about a thumbs up? Coach David
About 15 years ago I had a guy high on meth break into my home at 3:00 am and attack me in my bed. I chose pepper spray instead of a gun, got rid of him, and then called the police to have the guy arrested (he was in my front yard at that point, rolling around screaming about his eyes). That was my biggest mistake; calling the cops and thinking they would be on my side. I cooperated fully and believe it or not, the attacker pressed charges against me, and the cops did everything in their power to try and find a reason to arrest me. They said that instead of pepper spraying the attacker (which did exactly what it was supposed to) I should have thrown a heavy book from my nightstand through the back window and escaped, from my bed, through the broken window. They screamed at me "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!!! YOU HANDLED THIS SITUATION COMPLETELY WRONG!!!" Over and over for about 2 hours, from my kitchen table, in my bathrobe, I was ripped to shreads verbally by the cops. I am an upstanding citizen, I hold a high security clearance and lost it for 2 years until my lawyer, and about $14K in legal fees cleared this matter up. I have no doubt that if I would have shot the attacker, because he was unarmed, I would be in prison today. The moral of the story, DON'T think the cops are your friends, and get out of the habit of calling them altogether, they only compound the problem many fold. This incident happened in a major metropolitan city of 2 million, not some small town. I won't mention the name of the city, I don't want to wake up that sleeping giant. But this really happened, and it forever changed the way I deal with problems. Somebody with legal know-how, maybe even a ex-cop, needs to make a video on how to deal with cops. 100% of this has to do with their training as it wasn't just one cop treating me like this, it was 7 or 8 who showed up. I wasn't mouthy or talking loud, I was bleeding and had marks all over my face and upper chest. Even the firemen who were called took care of the attacker first because he was in the most pain.
Mitchell Leary iam on your side mate'anyone comes into your home ' I believe you should do anything you want to intruder'intruders including torture...
I'm surprised that cops are on bad guys side. In Nassau county, things happen to be ... Needless to say, we should give instruder what he want, or he will have cops get you arrested.
Mitchell Leary ok...next time use Super Glue on both of his palms and attach it to his cheeks, make sure it is stuck and than kick his ass out your door. There is no law against that and that guy will not report or come back to your sweet home.
In 2001 I was asked to do a Video for one of the Companies in Black Belt type magazines. My style is similar. The company was pissed because I showed 1 technique for the first dozen scenarios they gave me. It works and works well. They were nice when here but felt I conned them because I taught throat strikes and combined a dropstep to make sure it was crushed. Not cool enough for video they said. Told them it was more about the mental when it comes to termination of a target. How to allow oneself and be at peace after. They sold few hundred in a mail out and I never signed off on more marketing. That was that. Keep it up. What works doesn't need to impress. It needs to end the threat. Good job
Alexander Kostrzewa, I studied many martial arts for years and years and this was the end result after I widdled them down to just what I needed in a worst case scenario. I also coach and train in mixed martial arts, but to me, that is a sport and not for a life or death situation. Thanks for the comment. Coach David
nirvik singh, You can watch part 2 in my VIP area at CoachDavidAlexander.com or buy the two disc set at howtokillwithyourhands.com. Here is a sneak peak of disc 2 th-cam.com/video/LfJ5ndkm4LE/w-d-xo.html which shows a little on multiple attackers. Thanks, Coach David
There is one thing I would like to state about some of these things you say about multiple attackers if your choking someone out and are aware of the person behind you use your choke victim to shield you from his attacks which sets up opportunity to just shove your choke victim toward him and get on out of there but on another note I like your approach of things as well
I never was a strong proponent of strike, then run away. There are too many situations where this is not practical, such as in multiple attacker scenarios or when in a confined space.I also was impressed by your knowledge of striking one target to open up another and by the body's reaction to those strikes. So I say to you sir, very well done.
Julius Williams, The eyes are not the only target. Also, while you are attacking the target (eyes) the glasses could shift, fall off or you will go right through them with enough adrenaline and force. Even with glasses, the attacker will flinch exposing another target. Try it. Put on a pair of glasses then have someone go after your eyes and then a knee to your groin and see what happens. Like it or not, this is the best way that I have found for an average person to survive violence. CD
I agree. The more a person could train to strike a target in various positions and situations the higher the percentage of survival. But, if a person does not have enough time to train or the willingness to do so, this system will give them the best odds at surviving a violent attack. Thanks for the comments. Coach David
You are super polite in your replies David. The thing I don't like about this type of training is the fact that people separate an eye jab from a punch or a groin shot from a kick or properly executed knee. If someone isn't trained to be able to punch properly then how are they expected to be able to efficiently execute a strike to the eyes?? People seem to work in a theoretical world where it is just about the techniques and nothing else.
Lot of haters on here, i studied combat jujitsu for a couple of years 'what your saying here so true 'nothing fancy'..aggressive..direct ' you dont know who else is about .. well done david" take no notice of the martial art masters ..of comments they probably got kicked out of the foreign legion for being too bad.🤦🏻♂️
brutal and effective, and above all simple, you need people to remember this stuff maybe a few years after they learn it, this way with a few basic principles it could save your life.
Speaking as an experienced combat and street fighter , I like your ideas , and I don't do martial arts , but I have a question , the elbow strike to the windpipe for example , that's a single direct attack , so if your attacker is experienced , he will block that shot , and that leaves you in a bad position ! I have fought experienced guys and they are very good at percieving and nullifying things like that , so these moves are single direct moves , you couldn't pull these off on me , my perception , response , speed , etc , are too high to allow these moves to work , so how can you convince me that these simple moves would work for me ? Thank you and would like to see more , if you have DVDs , let me know how I could get them , thanks again
Don't use this unless you're in a kill or be killed situation. If you fuck up a move the perp could get an adrenaline rush from that eye, groin, throat attack. Also missing from this instruction is the fact you should at a minimum train your weapons with dit dar medicine. Palm edge, elbow, fingers, wrist, knee. If your attacker is bigger than you you're going to have to risk bone fracture to injure him.
Gary P., No one should ever use what I teach unless their life or the life of someone else is on the line. I hope your actions were justified otherwise you are probably going to prison. Keep us posted. Attach a link to the police report. Best of luck. Coach David
I have been a victim a few times in my life. I am disabled, walk with a cane and am on the older side. For years I was an investigator for an attorney (very boring and usually nasty job) In my job I could legally carry a revolver, as long as it was totally concealed. The gun was basically useless. I was attacked by a teen in a “blood in “ attack. I was badly slashed, requiring nearly 70 stitches to close the wounds. I was able to thrash my attacker with my cane. This stopped the attack.Even though I had trained with different systems and with my weapons, the fight became feral at the start. I targeted his liver with my cane, these blows effectively ended the fight. He was arrested but the police and prosecutors both thought it best for him to plea out as they did not want to expose me or my family to retaliation. This was the outcome. Your system if based on what I experienced, you are basically alone and need to be able to face an attacker on your own. Excellent presentation.
Just an observation,if your practicing this, and your basically doing the technique in slow-motion,how do you develop the muscle memory+hard wire your central nervous system to do it at the speed of reality? In muay thai or boxing your doing the combos at real speed with pad work, sparing etc. So in a real scenario its there for you. Let me say Im not saying the techniques wouldn't work, but it just seems problematic that the above mentioned techniques would work at the speed of life, unless practiced at optimal speeds. 🤔
You remember the moves practice slowly in real situation you have to adapt but use only these 3 moves not fancy you can easily do it fast Paul vunak also tell to use slow motion he gives training to navy sEALs
I like the simplicity of this video. Simple is powerful. A point one of my buddies had to defend himself. He is six foot tall, and at the time he was a 3rd dan TKD. His opponent was smaller and not well trained. My friend was scard of killing this person with his training. This is a good example of a need to use less then extremely powerful moves to end the fight. He was over trained to use extremely violent moves. So he did not defend himself well. Being over trained can de bad to.
My grandfather is Col. Rex Applegate. For he is my grandfather.i am.so proud of him. I miss him.so much. I'm.currently in yellow belt.krav maga level 1 I love to learn new techniques. Nice video.
Danie Garcia Applegate - You should've learned WWII Combatives. This goes good with that and you could continue on with TFT and SCARS seminars and buy their DVD sets to give you further knowledge after you've learned in person.
@Jake L No, so the common American Woman. With there entitled attitude. Feeling like they can hit a man. And do whatever they want. With zero consequences. Doesn't try to sneak a nut shot. All because you turned them down. Or called a whore a whore. The last time a woman attempted that stupid shit on me. Her face was gripped and pushed one handed into a locker. She fell to her knees. And started crying like the little bitch she was. She had prior to this incident caught me two other times. And landed them properly. Just to make her friend's laugh. And the fact she was embarrassed I walked up to her. And her friends. And asked her out. She was so attractive to me. I remember she was one of the most beautiful things I had ever seen. But, anyway I had finally had enough. And I didn't care about the tears. Because she didn't care about my pain the last two times. When she actually got me. This third time. I don't know what happened. I wasn't trained at all. It was a defence mechanism to the remembrance of pain. But, whatever that's call d equality. Which woman want so bad now. But, they want it without any responsibility. Real men will correct them. They just need to run into one. And swing on him. I wish I could be there magically every time all over the U.S. Just to laugh. I'm Caucasian and I won't hesitate to tell everyone. That most Caucasian woman are trash. Good only to be used for sex. And left and forgotten about. Like they've all done to multiple people. And it's crazy because I don't hate woman. But, never have hesitated to put one in there place. After these school incidents I see how they really are. And I continued to see these zero self control animals. Manipulate and destroy men first hand for years. So, you can talk your talk. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. But, if your woman is Caucasian she will never tell you the entire truth about anything serious. Guaranteed. It's sad that I still care and try. Lifes one hell of a trip. Am I right?
@Luke Madden not when you don't see it coming its not. Or if your not expecting it lol. I grew up in a house of a bunch of female's and dated a lot of crazy women lol i know
I LOVVVVVVE Your Course coached David. Turned a regular man like me into John Reese ''person of interest'' potential lol. Seriously best $100 dollars I ever spent in my family and I. Thank you my friend. Sorry I gave you a hard time and was ''that customer'' lol You changed our lives and saved them
I appreciate the compliment on my system. Thank you. As for getting sued, I cannot control what other people do. And statistically a child is more apt to "lose their eye site, suffer spinal injuries or worse..." from youth football, soccer and baseball than from coming across my system, sneaking around their parents and watching "How to Kill" videos, ignoring all the warnings, and then going out and injuring a fellow child. I appreciate the thought. Thanks, Coach David
Well i can not speak for all styles of kung fu,some have many, some have few. What we were taught in the combative white crane(a closed door style.) & choy li fut was to move in & destroy atleast three of five primary targets, with any of what was termed root or seed movements, which were attacking entries.Anyone of them worked for various situations, against all sorts of attacks.Your methods seem very similar, did you study any chinese kung fu to create your system?
I had one more thing to add to my comments and its the running away part. If a person were to run away they could get tired and the perpetrators kud be chasing the victim or the victim kud have medical problems and is unable to run or someone kud be out of shape or old. Thanks again Coach for yr video!
I was just telling my sister a few days ago how to target the eyes and windpipe if she gets attacked...nice video...ps. I think a standing kimura is good for stopping a knife attack...most good people do not understand how violent criminals can be, you have to think like they do in an attack..take them out..
I do not study Kung Fu, but have studied vital targets that any martial art could and do teach. The difference is not the martial art, but the philosophy of violence. Most martial arts teach self defense and in my opinion, if you are defending (someone trying to kill you, not just a fight), you are by definition losing. I choose not to lose to someone trying to kill me and it only takes a few "moves" combined with proper targeting to have the best chance to survive. Coach David
Thurman, you have it right. The point of my system is to get a result of incapacitation, unconsciousness or death. When you get one of those results, the attacker is no longer a threat to your life. Thanks for the comment. If you're interested, I have a better and re-edited version of discs 1 and 2 of my system. Right now you can get a V.I.P. membership for my site for just $29 (normally $99) and it lasts for 1 year. Check howtokillwithyourhands (dot) com for more info. Coach David
I'd have to agree. It's very difficult to get off a strike unless you know how to employ it. I don't mean to suggest that targets are not important. Merely that it is very difficult to get your target when you are throwing an attack that is telegraphed, or moving in an inefficient mannger. It's important to train the technique with the philosophy so that you can be confident in your ability to judge the distance of your strike, the timing, the targeting etc.
Your material is great and right to the point. I'm in question on your response to the gun in your back. You rotated to your left which would work fine. However if the gun was in his left hand that could've got you shot. I know you have a 90% chance against him being left handed. But could you demonstrate how you determine which hand the gun is in and thus your direction for rotating.
reg profant This is a great topic. For me, it doesn't matter what hand it is in, I will penetrate into the attacker as I rotate in order to get to a vital target and cause the target, reaction, target system to flow. I will try and do a video to answer this better. Thanks, Coach David
I like the strike to the eyes or throat, but a 100 pound female or older male, will not be able to drop an attacker with a breast bone strike, therefore that is not one of the targets I teach. If you are strong enough, go for it, but it is not as effective for the older/weaker victim. Thanks for the comment. Coach David
I agree. If someone already has a martial arts background, they can add in my system to make it more effective in a life or death situation or for multiple attackers with weapons (tools). Thanks for the comment, Coach David
Simple but extremely effective!!! I LOVE IT. The only question I have is, Instead of using my whole forearm to strike the treakie or back of the neck area, Will it be as effective if I just punch those parts of the neck Fist ONLY???? if anyone can answer my question I'd really appreciate it very very much. I'm not an expert. My fists are very strong and my hands also are strong, but my forearms are not that strong. I'm concerned that if I had to strike with my forearm it might damage my arm and that's the last thing I'd want if put in a situation like this. So my question is can I use my fist to strike and get almost the same result???
learn finger strike to the eyes or throat or learn to strike with your extended knuckles(the forefinger or middle finger knuckle). This extended knuckle even if hit to the middle of the breasts will make a guy curl and go down then apply your coup degrace.
More philosophy and more examples of the system. It is a video I took of a private lesson. It fills in any gaps that were left out of DVD 1. It is really good, in my biased opinion. Coach David
My philosophy is to do what works. It doesn't matter what it is called. I try and teach the fastest and easiest way to get the job done (survive a violent attack) for the average person to learn within a couple of hours. Thanks for the comments. Buy the 2 Disc set at Howtokillwithyourhandsdotcom. Coach David
First, great info and thank you for sharing. Second, how would one attack the eyes if the attacker is wearing glasses ? Not trying to sound stupid...it’s just that a lot of the guys in my area wear sun glasses.
THANK YOU. IF YOU ARE NOT CARRYING A GUN, THAT YOU KNOW HOW TO USE, HIDE, AND USE TO KILL WITHIN 2 SECONDS, STAY IN GROUP, BE WILLING TO KILL. KNOW THE LAWS, A MUST. BE ALERT DON'T PUT YOURSELF IN DANGER.
Well it's going against what all Navy Seals and special force teams teach you are supposed to focus and deflecting and defending the knife trapping the arm closing the Gap and then doing the tape down going with human instinct in real life situation the exact opposite of what he is saying never take your focus off of the weapon and get killed Charles Wofford martial arts
Colin D, My system is not "Defending", but attacking. It is not possible to defend against a "Bat, Knife, rock, bottle" because you will get injured and will probably not survive. We need to injure our attacker and get to the real weapon, which is the brain. In your scenario, it seems that their was time to escape. Always escape (unless other lives are on the line) if you can. Thanks for the comment. Make sure to subscribe. Coach David
If somebody pulls a gun at you don't ever allow it to be aimed at you, if they have a dead aim on you, you are dead! If somebody pulls a gun and you are too close always go on the side and kick their feets than smash their head, do not try to take the gun as soon as you move the person will pull the trigger. If you are far from the person pulling the gun jump, roll, bob, weave and take cover. Only engage if the gunner is close and remember never go for the gun kick the feets and than smash the head. If you are fighting somebody with a knife and you do not know any technics to disarm or parry a knife attack, poke the eyes or spit in the eyes and than kick the groin, and than a knee to the head or better smash the head or neck with your hand . When he goes down smash the neck and head several times until the target is neutralized. Also use any tool around you as a weapon, you can take a chair if somebody is attacking you with a knife and than just leap forward and when he falls down smash the head.
Sorry coach, None of this will work with an experienced fighter. Question, what happens if the eye gouge does not work? You are then wide open for a counter. Fighting is fluid and realistically can't be that planned. I say this with respect to you. Shihan Rooney
orian john, My methods of instruction are for the average person to be able to survive a violent attack with very limited training. Usually just one seminar. Don't get me wrong. I respect black belts very much and appreciate their art and effort in achieving their black belt. But you also admit that all black belts are not created equal and I agree with you. Thanks for the comments, Coach David
im a man in my 60's and crippled.too many surgeries so i cant fight any more, so my adjustable cane is a 1 shot 12 gauge ! i do not put myself in situations that are risky and do not drink. that said ill kill without blinking an eye!!
Yes, TFT is a major influence and I give them credit on my blog and even link to his book. Also, If you watch the above video to the very end I thank Tim Larkin and Chris Rank-Buhr for their influence on my philosophy of self defense. Thanks for commenting! Coach David
this is what most people wud be able to do and understand. very well information on self-defense , since most people dnt have time to research which martial arts or self-defense school will better suit them. Or even have time for training… what u teach B.E.T is easy to remember, i may not do exactly how u are showing it but i know where the targets are and act accordingly to the situation. great video.
No one seems to take into account that adrenaline is in effect for both the attacker and the victim. So the most of these effects are subdued and everything is sped up by about 5x. So you have to be quick on your feet and fast with your mind for any of this to work.
Deadpoolicious Deadpoolicious, I disagree. I believe my system is one of the very few that will help the unfit, older and weaker individual defeat a psychopath. I believe that most martial arts are only effective if you are strong and agile. Most attackers are not attacking the strong and agile, but the older, unfit, and weaker individual. My system will help these people and make the stronger and agile person into a lethal weapon. Please register with the FBI if you are a very strong and agile individual, because after learning my system, you are considered a lethal weapon. Coach David
The acting is great in showing what should theoretically be opened with these strikes, but I've seen guys take shots to the groin and still be very aware and capable. I'm not sure about using these strikes as entries. closing the distance to the eyes, groin or throat strikes without being struck yourself, or controlled by your attacker may be a little more complicated than this video suggests. Not that I have an issue with what you're showing, just that I feel like a large majority of the
The targets are just a part of the system. You need to learn the philosophy behind the system (more on disc 2) and how to practice the system (without killing your training partner) in order to do it effectively when it counts. Buy or don't buy, that is up to you. I personally purchase everything I can if it will help me save myself or my family from a violent attack. Thanks for the comment. Coach David
Hahahaha the photos in the start, anyone can get fan photos with fighters especially when they are wearing a jui-jitsu white belt... i love how he starts with the double handed choke with his hands on the outside then suddenly swaps to hands on the inside hahahaha then there is the gun exercises... Those are the best ways to get shot...
You are teaching an effective fighting system that will seriously hurt, maim or "kill" (your word) another individual. By the simple nature of this deadly system you are advertising freely over a vast network, please be aware that regardless of the number disclaimers posted, you are exposing yourself to enormous liability in the event a child were to lose their eye site, suffer spinal injuries or worse from another adolescent attacker who freely watched your you tube video. Great system.
This is so interesting to see! I had created a system years ago based on this principle! The acronyms I used were GET FiNE STRIKES. GET being your first line of defense: Groin Eyes Throat. Maybe it’s time to bring these back out. Thank you for posting this!
There is an unlimited amount of situations, how is a non-athletic, probably overweight person with a full time job, kids and a mortgage going to learn all of those situations? My B.E.T. system is for the average person to learn a way to survive a violent attack in the least amount of time possible. I think if you watched disc 2 you would better understand why. Not everything is covered in the video above (Disc 1). Thanks for commenting. Coach David
This is cool, i agree with the destroy the brain with any scenario and automatically the one targeting wins. I'm a student of non martial arts since my opinion is TMA, MMM, RMA take too damn long cus i needed those principals yesterday. SCARS and TFT are #1 and WWII Combatives #2. Good job for showing some of both these worlds!
Colin, I have multiple systems from MMA to Combatives to my B.E.T. "Target Based" Self Defense System (video above). My B.E.T. system is the easiest to learn and is for the average person to have the best chance to survive a worst case scenario. Not everyone can train for years and years in multiple situations. I appreciate your concern for your fellow man, just like my concern to try and keep them from being killed in a worst case scenario. Rent disc 2 and you will understand better.Coach D
The first thing you want to do if the attacker has a firearm is take control of the weapon. If you just turn around and poke his eye he will fire. In his mind he has the advantage. He's nervous, his adrenaline is up, and he probably has had no training with a firearm. So his finger is going to be on the trigger anyway. It's a dangerous situation all around. This B.E.T. system is good to a certain point. Remember, you don't have to use violence to solve every situation.
Good job man, thats how you deal with those basterds
True
coralarch I was bullied by a group of 16 bullies walking home from school I kept metal knuckles in my back pack and I put them on and I beat all the bullies up but the leader then he went after me I dropped the metal knuckles and I put him into a head lock and I then got into the position to snap his neck instead I snapped his arm that's how you deal with one
r/iamverybadass
coralarch this is good for you your dad taught you well
I don't think anyone with a functioning brain can argue with what you've just shown us. Real and practical is an understatement. Great presentation.
Throat strikes work really well in street fights
@Tai Lopez It's pretty easy to punch someone in the throat. Usually they guarding their head not thinking about their throat
hi david im from australia i am 65 years old i have been into cqc all my life you remind me of me when i was young you are teaching it as it should be taught the right way great dvd keep up the good work
This is the most down to earth self defense I have ever seen (been a student since the 70's).
God bless.
BLDalton85, I completely agree. Coach David
The thing is is that he is teaching the exact opposite of what SEAL Teams SWAT teams and every other special forces teaches against you are supposed to focus on the knife and the arm with the knife and close the gap trap and take down Charles Wofford martial arts
"There's no patent on violence" -Tim Larkin.
There is a patent on target focus training though.
This is the stuff you will have time to apply if there are multiple attackers. Simple and brutally effective techniques for the real world- well done.
Yeah if you just catch the eye or eyes 👀 it gives you a chance to follow up and go to the next attacker
I learned this 50 years ago. It was called "Destructive Self-Defense" back then. I tell people you do not want to start a fight with me, because I might kill you by "accident". They tell me that is "nuts". This is the only self defense one needs and only to be used in real self defense situations.
GoodScienceForYou - Was it in the Vietnam War?
wouldn't want to try it on a black belt
😂
@@czr7j9 a black belt in what??
czr7j9 very few attackers in criminal encounters are formally trained.
+Jeff Hallatt Thanks. Coach David
Facts its explained really well and easy to understand
That's fucking stupid. You should have the right to defend yourself and this idiot has no right to intrude your private home.
Mitchell Leary however if the cops shoot someone who is unarmed the cops gets a vacation because of his trauma lol
Good job
Alexander Kostrzewa,
I studied many martial arts for years and years and this was the end result after I widdled them down to just what I needed in a worst case scenario. I also coach and train in mixed martial arts, but to me, that is a sport and not for a life or death situation. Thanks for the comment. Coach David
Hi David I ask if I want to fight like jack reacher this is for me
where is the second part coach?and what about multiple attacks?
nirvik singh,
You can watch part 2 in my VIP area at CoachDavidAlexander.com or buy the two disc set at howtokillwithyourhands.com. Here is a sneak peak of disc 2 th-cam.com/video/LfJ5ndkm4LE/w-d-xo.html which shows a little on multiple attackers. Thanks, Coach David
There is one thing I would like to state about some of these things you say about multiple attackers if your choking someone out and are aware of the person behind you use your choke victim to shield you from his attacks which sets up opportunity to just shove your choke victim toward him and get on out of there but on another note I like your approach of things as well
Brandon, During a multiple attacker situation, it would take too long to choke someone out, that is why I don't recommend it. Coach David
I never was a strong proponent of strike, then run away. There are too many situations where this is not practical, such as in multiple attacker scenarios or when in a confined space.I also was impressed by your knowledge of striking one target to open up another and by the body's reaction to those strikes. So I say to you sir, very well done.
whwre is DVD ???
Julius Williams,
The eyes are not the only target.
Coach David
There is a self defence system based on Black-B, Entertainment-E, Television-T?
Thank you and would like to see more , if you have DVDs , let me know how I could get them , thanks again
if you like this you should check out Master Ken's stuff.
This is definitely not for the "normal" circumstance. Thanks for commenting! Coach David
Gary P.,
No one should ever use what I teach unless their life or the life of someone else is on the line. I hope your actions were justified otherwise you are probably going to prison. Keep us posted. Attach a link to the police report. Best of luck. Coach David
Thanks for the comments!
When I was 14 I killed my father
Just an observation,if your practicing this, and your basically doing the technique in slow-motion,how do you develop the muscle memory+hard wire your central nervous system to do it at the speed of reality? In muay thai or boxing your doing the combos at real speed with pad work, sparing etc. So in a real scenario its there for you. Let me say Im not saying the techniques wouldn't work, but it just seems problematic that the above mentioned techniques would work at the speed of life, unless practiced at optimal speeds. 🤔
You remember the moves practice slowly in real situation you have to adapt but use only these 3 moves not fancy you can easily do it fast Paul vunak also tell to use slow motion he gives training to navy sEALs
this video taught me alot about how to protect people i love thank u alot for this
eduardo santiago,
You're welcome. Thanks for the comment. Coach David
This goes good with that and you could continue on with TFT and SCARS seminars and buy their DVD sets to give you further knowledge after you've learned in person.
dont teach the groin kick to the girls
Jake L Wat da fak
Girls love the groin kicks.. I've been kicked to many times in the nuts by chicks :(
@Jake L No, so the common American Woman.
I grew up in a house of a bunch of female's and dated a lot of crazy women lol i know
@@wallstreetbailey4425 why ? Don’t you ever learn ?
Someone help my little brother isn’t moving
Well i can not speak for all styles of kung fu,some have many, some have few. What we were taught in the combative white crane(a closed door style.) & choy li fut was to move in & destroy atleast three of five primary targets, with any of what was termed root or seed movements, which were attacking entries.Anyone of them worked for various situations, against all sorts of attacks.Your methods seem very similar, did you study any chinese kung fu to create your system?
xsHaDyMuPpEtx,
Rule #1 is to avoid the fight at all costs. It sounds like you need to stay clear of bars! Thanks for the comment. Coach David
i like your techniques but for me the best is the vital points
good work
You're welcome. Coach David
Yes. Use the world at your "tool". Smashing different objects into these targets will amplify the injury. Thanks for the comment. Coach David
This just shows , you don't have need years of marshal arts self defense to learn to defend yourself.
Awesome!! training video. Thank you!!
LiLGWaez,
I don't ever use that word and never said what you are quoting. What was your purpose or motivation for making up that quote? Coach David
Thank you for the compliment. Coach David
I love this simple, stupidly basic but effective in so many scenarios.
Thanks Tarquin. Coach David
My little brother isn’t moving, help
Is this Tim Larkin's system?
Shihan Rooney
yes no two fights are the same, a lot of this will be situational.
Now it's time to try these moves on my younger brother.
Lmao
orian john,
My methods of instruction are for the average person to be able to survive a violent attack with very limited training.
Richard Wardle,
Are you willing to take that chance with yourself or your family? Coach David
Thanks for the comment! Coach David
Yes, TFT is a major influence and I give them credit on my blog and even link to his book. Also, If you watch the above video to the very end I thank Tim Larkin and Chris Rank-Buhr for their influence on my philosophy of self defense. Thanks for commenting! Coach David
ohanley666,
You obviously didn't watch the whole video. Go back and watch and then comment. Coach David
Sounds like many combat systems to an extent. Similar to Krav Maga. I highly recommend coach Alain Cohen 5th dan in Krav Maga.
this is what most people wud be able to do and understand. very well information on self-defense ,
since most people dnt have time to research which martial arts or self-defense school will better suit them. Or even have time for training…
what u teach B.E.T is easy to remember, i may not do exactly how u are showing it but i know where the targets are and act accordingly to the situation.
great video.
Dontrotatemybrain,
Thanks. Coach David
Coach David
How do I order this dvd
Coach David
my bad, my first understanding of the title is "how to kill your hands." liked it.
Please repost
Thanks for the comment. Coach David
Thanks a lot!! I really like your target based system
This is so interesting to see! I had created a system years ago based on this principle! The acronyms I used were GET FiNE STRIKES. GET being your first line of defense: Groin Eyes Throat. Maybe it’s time to bring these back out. Thank you for posting this!
You're welcome! Coach David
Coach David
Zadok,
Thank you for the compliment of my system. Coach David
the most important thing is you need to train, you need to practice and you need to put on muscle along with these techniques
Colin,
I have multiple systems from MMA to Combatives to my B.E.T.

Hoo-ah!
