There are three films based on the event called 'the miracle of the Andes':
- SURVIVE: The 1976 unauthorised Mexican film. The survivors find it grotesque.
- ALIVE: The survivors have always said it is not real story. They find the way the characters and facts are portrayed superficial and disrespectful.
- SOCIETY OF THE SNOW: The survivors and the families of the deceased participated as consultants since the beginning of the project in order to make the most historically accurate depiction, and pay tribute to all the heroes of the ordeal, especially those who couldn't return to their families. The true story is about extraordinary teamwork.

Alive is the shittiest reference to what actually happended. The survivors said that is was so untrue that is offensive, Society of the Snow was made with help of the ACTUAL survivors, and not a bunch of americans that want to descredit their survival achivement with "cannibalism acts"
