    My Great Aunts used to can pears with 2-3 orange wedges in each jar. The pears would stay bright white and the flavor was awesome!

    My suggestion….get yourself a few Asian pear trees. Out of all my 60 trees (yes, I was a little over ambitious when I first got our property) the Asian pears are the most disease and pest free out of everything. So juicy, it’s like carrying around a bottle of juice.

      Thank you. I actually planted my first Asian pear this year. Very disease and pest resistant.

    Thank you for this video. My neighbor has a pear tree that extends over my fence and into my yard and I have tried to harvest pears from it for several years now, but I only had one successful year of getting them to the ripened stage where I could actually make some pear jam. The neighbors just let the pears go to waste and it kills me. Now I have the knowledge that they have to be picked unripe and then put in my air-conditioned room inside to ripen. I did not know this. Thank you thank you thank you from Houston, TX. 😊

    The fairgrounds across the street has those ornamental Bradford pears, and the birds eat them and then come poop in our field, planting pear trees in random places. I have been grafting them over the years, and this year, we have hundreds weighing down the branches. They look like grape clusters in places. Thanks for the tips friend. We are going to have to find a place to let them ripen, and that's more space than we have. At least now I know what I'm dealing with.

    Good job ,Congratulations ; Can you grow Pears tree in Tropical Contry ?

    • @CountryLivingExperience
      @CountryLivingExperience  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you. Pears usually need some cold "chill" hours in order to fruit. They will not grow well in a tropical country.

      @@CountryLivingExperience Great video!! I have been looking for exactly this information!!! I inherited a great production and huge in size of pear and of tree, pear tree but I've never known what kind of pear it is. It does look a lot like the Kefir pear you show here.
      Do you know of what to search for online to help find out how to discern different varieties or buy something that would help figure out what kind of pear it is just to be sure, in case there are other pears that look like a Kefir pear?
      Thank you, Thank you, Thank You... For sharing this information!!!

      @@theducklinghomesteadandgar6639 You're welcome. The only thing I can suggest is to contact your local fruit tree nursery and bring them some pictures. They are the real experts in variety identification.

    Good day!! It's August 1st, 2023. I just bought a home in eastern Tennessee with 2 pear trees (plus a peach, apple, and cherry tree). We had a pretty intense thunderstorm a couple of days ago. My pear trees dropped over 100+ pears on the ground. 2 questions: 1) What / How do I save these if they are saveable? That may not be a legitimate word... 2) These are 2 different varieties. How can I tell exactly what I have?? 3) HELP!! LOL

    • @CountryLivingExperience
      @CountryLivingExperience  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Congrats on the new property.
      You can save them. Just bring them inside and set them on the kitchen table. They should continue to ripen with no problems. It is a challenge to figure out the variety. I am not sure since I cannot see them.

    In San Antonio, Tx when is pear picking season?

    • @CountryLivingExperience
      @CountryLivingExperience  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      San Antonio is split between Zone 8b and 9a. It will depend on where you are. It could be the beginning to the middle of August.

      Yes, try ripening them inside. Sounds like the trees may need water.

  • @chubzeee1

    Were any of these planted with the EGW method? I saw on another video that you didn’t get a really good result or as good a result you expected.

    • @CountryLivingExperience
      @CountryLivingExperience  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are planted EGW. It gives them the best chance to grow healthy and fast. However, it is not foolproof. There is still an attrition rate and we had some die. Peaches are heavily attacked by disease in this area and even though we planted them EGW, they did not make it.

    • @chubzeee1
      @chubzeee1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CountryLivingExperience Thank you. Did the ones you planted differently fare better or about the same?

    • @CountryLivingExperience
      @CountryLivingExperience  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@chubzeee1 I only planted a few non-egw trees recently. It is too early to tell with them. I did dig a large hole for them, put in the sea minerals, and compost. I did not put in the rocks or air cavity at the bottom. Only time will tell. However, the pear trees are doing amazing. It is also smart to plant what grows well in your area.

    i know this has nothing to do with chicken but i have some questions again
    (and are chickens laid 2 eggs making it there 4th egg)
    1. do they need privately egging place because they laid there first egg in the private one and the rest in are noob egg crates that are not Private ?
    2.when they get older do they lay multi-pal eggs?
    3. how long does a chicken eat there eggs?
    4. how many eggs will you get if you had 6 chickens?

    • @CountryLivingExperience
      @CountryLivingExperience  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No problem.
      1. Chickens will always look for a secluded place to lay eggs. Some chickens don't care where they lay.
      2. I don't know what multi-pal means.
      3. I don't understand this question
      4. Depends on the breed, time of year, food and water, health, etc. It is hard to determine exactly how many eggs a chicken will lay.

    • @thefalcons4098

      Also, for the ripening, do you just put them in a Tupperware container and let them sit in the cupboard? I have two pear trees, not sure what kind (not as big as those) they came with the house. It looks like this year we'll get a couple dozen pears off them.

    • @CountryLivingExperience

      Zone 8b.
      I leave them on my counter or kitchen table to ripen.
