Learn to drywall an archway like the professionals in a few easy steps. Having the correct tools and knowledge is very key to successfully complete any drywall project.
@uwun2luze This particular job was a remodel and the customer only planned to put in a groin vault ceiling in the dining. After we finished that, the home owner wanted to add simple archways to accent the groin ceiling so instead of discarding the left over drywall from the groin we used it for the archways. The "finishers" had an easy time finishing everything out. Not to mention we were able to blend the new drywall into the existing drywall by matching the texture.
Just received my arch (soft arch). I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical. Companies these days are always trying to get over on the consumer. However, once I put the arch into place, I realized that it was money well spent. Took me a whole 10 minutes to get it into place!! I will definitely be going back for more! My only complaint was that I wasn't emailed a shipping notice. This wasn't a big deal. I emailed the orders dept. and received a response in an hour with the info. 2 thumbs up!
@Jaydubyadubya it is a rotozip. just google it. you will be able to find prices, where to buy etc. Razor knives (utility knives) are time consuming and messy when cutting out archways. it is a 100 times easier just to rotozip it.
I need that man to come and do an arch way for me. That is what I was looking for what is the name of the tool that was used to cut the drywall? Thank you for posting the best video on U Tube for how to install an archway. Please tell me what are the tools that are needed for this project thank you have a bless weekend. Is the man in the video in New York? if he is I will pay him to do the job. Thank you
The drywall cut out tool is a rotozip aka spiral saw. If you have 1 arch you can cut out the drywall with a utility knife. No need spending for one if you only have one project. I know a few contractors up in NY I can refer. Shoot us a email at sales@archwaysandceilings.com and I will send them to you. If the job seems to daunting for you, install the archway and have a drywall contractor come by and finish it for you.
flexible corner bead is designed to bend. google flexible corner bead again and search images. You will see that the design allows it to bend around the arch.
I would like to know what is the name of the arch that this man is installing? Is it an Soft arch, Half Circle, or Elliptical Arch thank you in advance.
Plastic. Google flexible corner bead. Hope that helps. The most popular style in my part of the woods is bullnose. Everyone likes there corners rounded these days.
Their srtuff is first class, did a groin cross, went together perfectly, everyone comments on it.

What is the tool he is using to cut the drywall?
Oh, I see it below: rotozip aka spiral saw.
Yep, that's what I needed. Thanks for the info! Do you have to cut both sides evenly down the strip for the bend, or it just bends on its own?

It is a soft arch
Roman arch, technically.
On the arches, what are those curved stud looking things? I noticed the sticker, but couldn't make out what it says.

Nice channel! good tips
should be one full sheet on the face of the archway, why have a joint there?
According to comments I read, it was left over material from the ceiling and the archway was an after thought
Excelente aporte 👍
why not one sheet
Dave Klumb maybe because those are leftovers
it's not a drill, it's a dedicated screw gun - like a Milwaukee 6740 or something similar..
