Here are some reflections from me as a Quranist: 1) Being super critical of hadiths does not necesseraly mean that you identify as a Quranist. There are shiites and sunnis that are super critical of hadiths but do see some usefulness of the hadith for history and religion. These people are islamic modernists like Jawad al Hashimi, Sheikh Hasan Farhan al Maliki and Imam Tawhidi. 2) Regarding excegisis our position is that the Quran should be interpreted by the Quran. The protestants call this principle sola skriptura. Yes the messenger teaches the Scripture and Wisdom by practising what he preaches in accordance to the divine instructions recieved from God. Note that the Quran is also identified as ”God and his messenger” in 9:24 and 9:3 and that ”God and the Messiah” in 9:31 are identified as the bible. Further more the Quran is identified as a book of Wisdom(10:1, 31:2). Also it is not true that there are no details for the ablution in the Quran. The ablution is fully detailed in 5:6, both when you have access to water and when you do not have access to water. The Salaat is not detailed in the Quran since the audience of the Quran WAS AlREADY practising salaat as the Quran was written and hence the quran focuses on correcting certain practises related to the salaat such as uttering the salaat in a fearful whispiring way or a shouting in a arrogant way(17:110). 3) the debate climate amoung us is more tolerant than among sunnis and shiites. I as a traditionalist Quranist have no problem working together With modernists, rashadists or Quranist progressives and we are much open to dialogue With ex-muslims.
"Quranist"is not a word in the Qur'an. Allah Almighty Creator has named those who follow the Qur'an, Muslims. And all those who follow any other scripture, ahadith etc, as outside the fold of Islam. Thus those who follow the ahadith are by definition not Muslims.They are not Muslims. You can read and verify this in the Noble Qur'an.

I would say the opposite in my experience. I was told Quran is above Hadith yet many do not follow Quran. Ayat 3:7 states majority of the Quran is clear but when very clear ayat are mentioned they are ignored, 2:285, 4:150-153 and 4:162-165. All three clearly state something ignored by the majority. What religion out there actually 100 believes in their book and follows it?

Furthermore, Quranists can sometimes incorrectly say certain Quran verses. For example, the verse that is quoted "Whoever kills a man, it is as if he has killed all mankind." This verse is incorrectly cited. It comes from Quran chapter 5, verse 32 and the verse actually says that it was directed at the children of Israel, not Muslims and the quotation of the verse actually goes like "If anyone kills a person unless for another person (in retaliation) or for causing corruption in the land, it is as if he has killed all mankind." So Quranists must read more carefully what they are citing.
So Muslims aren’t allowed to look at their religion in a new way and reading the Quran in a new way making it look as a modern religion. Even tho they always give good arguments. But Christian’s and Jews are allowed to either totally ignore the violent verses. Or giving bad arguments like “oh it was abolished”. Making it look like a modern religion without giving any valid arguments. Just to clarify to everyone. Hadith is totally not reliable. It isn’t like the Quran. And most bad things in Islam comes from Hadith. So they looked at Hadith and found out that they are written 100 years or more after the prophet died. They are basically just a collection of stories of what people heard about the prophet. And if Muslims would see those stories as very holy and base their lives on it. It would be like basing your life on stories that were told and passed by. Not to mention the politicians who added hadiths to have political gains. For example a Hadith saying that you should never appose the king of a land. So that people can listen to the king. So we can also not trust Hadith because so many Hadiths has been added for the sole reason of misleading people.

People that follow the Quran only are not practicing Islam. They are not a sect. There is no organized group that I know of. Following the Quran alone with no interjection by Hadith, is not a religion. It is following guidance from God to pass to paradise after the last day. That's the whole thing. You don't actually address the real arguments Quranists come with, and only parrot arguments that Sunnis come with. I'm an exmuslim myself, but Quranist make a good point when they say that they reject the hadith because of it's *lack* of authenticity, and the fact that the most Sahih Hadith were only compiled 200 years after Muhammad. I'm not sure what you are trying "exposing" here, but you didn't expose anything. Even Islamic academics (in the west atleast) agree that Hadiths are unreliable. I wouldn't worry so much on the fact that Hadiths are true or not, but rather focus on why the Quran has problems, since all groups believe it is the word of Allah.

''The Messenger teaches the Muslims how to pray (i.e more stuff)'' - The Messenger only being revealed to him the Book and the Wisdom, which is the Quran basically, how will he know things that aren't in the Quran?

Therefore Islam doesn’t see any reason to deny that figures such as the Buddha are messengers of God. Buddha might not seem like a “Muslim” because Islam has become identified with Arab culture, and Arabs try hard to keep it that way. They do so through dress code, architecture etc. But when you break it down to its essence, God’s message has always been to treat each other well, to be kind and do good etc. Once you separate the message from the culture behind it then I fail to see the difference between one religion and another. What unites them all is the command to do good. What separates them all comes down to superficial cultural differences. At least that’s my 2 cents.

Here are some reflections from me as a Quranist:
1) Being super critical of hadiths does not necesseraly mean that you identify as a Quranist. There are shiites and sunnis that are super critical of hadiths but do see some usefulness of the hadith for history and religion. These people are islamic modernists like Jawad al Hashimi, Sheikh Hasan Farhan al Maliki and Imam Tawhidi.
2) Regarding excegisis our position is that the Quran should be interpreted by the Quran. The protestants call this principle sola skriptura. Yes the messenger teaches the Scripture and Wisdom by practising what he preaches in accordance to the divine instructions recieved from God. Note that the Quran is also identified as ”God and his messenger” in 9:24 and 9:3 and that ”God and the Messiah” in 9:31 are identified as the bible. Further more the Quran is identified as a book of Wisdom(10:1, 31:2). Also it is not true that there are no details for the ablution in the Quran. The ablution is fully detailed in 5:6, both when you have access to water and when you do not have access to water. The Salaat is not detailed in the Quran since the audience of the Quran WAS AlREADY practising salaat as the Quran was written and hence the quran focuses on correcting certain practises related to the salaat such as uttering the salaat in a fearful whispiring way or a shouting in a arrogant way(17:110).
3) the debate climate amoung us is more tolerant than among sunnis and shiites. I as a traditionalist Quranist have no problem working together With modernists, rashadists or Quranist progressives and we are much open to dialogue With ex-muslims.

This verse is incorrectly cited. It comes from Quran chapter 5, verse 32 and the verse actually says that it was directed at the children of Israel, not Muslims and the quotation of the verse actually goes like "If anyone kills a person unless for another person (in retaliation) or for causing corruption in the land, it is as if he has killed all mankind." So Quranists must read more carefully what they are citing.

8. Verses about ''Obey Allah and obey the Messenger''
- Rasool (Messenger) and Nabi (Prophet) are distinguished in the Quran
- It's stated that the Messenger only follows what's inspired/revealed to him (46:9)
- There's a hendiadys in most of them, even singular arabic words when talking in plural (33:36), but they will translate to plural, since 2 beings are forced to be plural form in English
- Even angels are messengers, but they aren't prophets, clearly making a difference between both meaning (35:1)
- Basically, obey the messenger, because he delivers the message from whom sent it (God)
- Quran 4:80 points out some stuff
9. Quran 2:151
- It clearly demonstrates that the Messenger is teaching the Quran to the ''unlearned'', from the book itself ''and teaching you the Book and wisdom...''
- For more sources, Wisdom (Hikma) isn't an apart revelation being called the Sunnah, the Wisdom is in the Quran itself (17:21-39) + (31:12) + (33:34)
- The word ''al-ummīyīna'' can both mean illiterate or unlearned, it's unlearned because the arabs didn't have a messenger before (32:3), and they're unlearned as (62:2) states in the very end.
- Saying all meccans were illiterate would be a huge mistake, and so for the muslims

@@wandering_alaskait is not a matter of “collecting” important figures. The Quran says that God sent messengers to every nation. Therefore Islam doesn’t see any reason to deny that figures such as the Buddha are messengers of God.
Buddha might not seem like a “Muslim” because Islam has become identified with Arab culture, and Arabs try hard to keep it that way. They do so through dress code, architecture etc. But when you break it down to its essence, God’s message has always been to treat each other well, to be kind and do good etc.
Once you separate the message from the culture behind it then I fail to see the difference between one religion and another.
What unites them all is the command to do good. What separates them all comes down to superficial cultural differences.
