AUTHOR NOTES
No-bake chocolate balls made with rolled oats, butter, sugar, and cocoa are so easy to make. Just add everything to one bowl and mix with your hands (or a mixer if you’d rather not get your hands gooey).
If you happen to have pearl sugar at home, roll half of them in pearl sugar, and the rest in coconut. If you don’t, don't worry-coconut is equally delicious.
Tips & Tricks
• Make a batch ahead and pack them up as your beach/summer/hike/road trip snack.
• Swap regular butter for vegan butter, but only if you must (because nothing compares to the real thing).
• Store them in the fridge in a sealable container or plastic bag for up to 5 days.
• To shorten the final chilling time, avoid using your hands as much and use a mixer.

Loving all the Swedish recipes!

These look yummy. I would try it with peanut butter in place of butter. I think that might be good too.
That sounds delicious! I gotta give it a try
Peanut butter is not a big thing in Sweden so you never find it in original recepies for pastries from Sweden.
They got a similar thing at ikea and i got obsessed with them! Then ingredients don't mention coffee but i swore up and done i could taste it on them. now i see the real recipe I FEEL VALIDATED!!!!
Most store bought ones have "broken" rolled oats, if you don't like this version as much try running the oats through a blender.
@uncommonman thanks for the tip!!
Omg! In Argentina we do a VERY similar recipe but instead of coffee and sugar we use dulce de leche, and orobably a little bit less butter, but cocoa powder and oats too and we roll them in shredded coconut. It's usually served at kids birthday parties and it's one of my favourite treats!! I want to try the swedish version though! I bet coffee makes it really good
No way! Dulce de leche in them sounds amazing. Would love to try a recipe if you have a link to one!
@@neaarentzen I do not have a link but I'll just post the ingredients here: 2 cups of oats (here we usually use instant oats), 4-5 tablespoons of dulce de leche, 5-6 tablespoons of cocoa powder, 100 grams of butter (softened). And depending on the consistency of de dulce de leche, if the mix is too tough, we add 3-4 tablespoons of milk.... mix together, roll into balls, and roll them in coconut shreds and refrigerate. Hope you try it out!
Ive had them with apricot jam in them. So good! This brought back some memories. I wanna do them now for my fiance to take to work
I’ve never tried that but I’ll have to! Love apricot jam
Does the jam go as a filling into the center of the ball or mixed in with the rest of the ingredients?
Polka/mint flavoured sprinkles makes the chocolate balls really tasty.
Or even "nut topping", finely chopped nuts.
Um yes please
These sound soooo yummy, love a sweet treat. This channel, is awesome, the recipes have a low barrier to entry and offer replacement suggestions for ingredients, which I appreciate as a homecook!
Hi! So happy to hear that 🤍 and definitely very yummy, probably my most made dessert/snack. Let me know if you try them!
So easy to veganize with vegan butter!
I have *absolutely* warmed butter in my armpits
Same here. I am also guilty of putting butter between my thighs.
😂😂I’m happy to hear this

What is happening to Food52
My thoughts exactly
Crazy things!!
Sickly sweet & childish without rum, tbh.
Oh stop it! They’re delicious 😌 even without rum
We have the same snack in Iceland but we call it kókosbollur. There’s some minor variations depending on the bakery but the basic idea is exactly the same.
Swedish people sometimes call it kokosbollar aswell
