Yeah I just played a game of perfect dark XBLA on my xbox one X project scorpio. I changed the deadzones in the controller to 45% on each stick(thrustmaster eswap X pro). The profiles between 0 deadzones and 45% deadzone act completely different at the same level of deflections as far as sensitivity goes and they're set to the same ballistics curve. Like I said the profiles can be switched on the fly with buttons on the bottom of the controller. I do not believe the game is at 45% hard coded deadzone as you say. How do you know what the deadzone is?
Tested multiple controllers with an adapter that reads the values onto my PC, the camera wouldn't move on any controller unless I went past 45%. It's a problem similar to Turok 2 on consoles, you can see an example here - th-cam.com/video/vbT9ORWEFXU/w-d-xo.html
@@Graslu00 Yeah and like I was saying the sensitivities varied on different profiles which makes less sense to me because everything should be set to the same sensitivity for all deflections. So that means it wasn't a placebo. You can't change profiles on your device like I can mine on the fly from my understanding. Not to mention the controller is able to over-ride controls with the buttons even though that's not analog and not apples to oranges but you can do that as well on these. Expensive controller but maybe worth it. I love this controller. It's not a placebo.
@@larsulrich3356 Not what I mean. You may feel different sensitivity settings because that's on your controller. However the game has forced by code a deadzone. No matter what controller or adapter you use, that deadzone cannot be changed as it's in the game's code. Check the video I shared, it'll be similar on any controller you try.
@@Graslu00 Where did you hear that the game officially has a 45% deadzone? Where is your source for that? The aiming and the movement both act a lot different than the 45% deadzone programming along with what the sensitivity seems to be as well.
@@larsulrich3356 I am the source. Please check the video provided and try a similar motion on your controller. Your deadzone settings are added on top of what the game has, so of course 45% and 0% will feel different. Small movements, no matter the deadzone you set your controller to, won't be registered. If you can prove me wrong please provide a video showcasing a normal controller vs the one you have in co-op to show the difference.
Hi neer a bit of help so uh what does livestream mean? Does Graslu00 play games like the other games i saw or doee he do this in a special way. Need a bir of help. @anyone
fantastic playing for a fantastic game. the so called reboot will take long yet, but it better be good, because PD zero didn't make justice to this one.
I always thought it was funny how they tried to redesign Joanna for the remaster but didn't change her voice, she looks like one of the Spice Girls. Watching this in full, it really jogs my memory that I started to get bored of this game around Air Force One when there were aliens everywhere and now the president is involved somehow. The start of the game felt really tight and the missions were cohesive, then suddenly you go to Area 51 and it stops making sense. FORTUNATELY it's all still very cool with great music and cool guns, but I just kind of stopped caring about any of the characters or what was going on.
I think that all deadzones have their issues with the XIM when it comes to the smaller incremental movements until the deadzone is "activated" on the mouse. I think they're ALL this way but it doesn't mean it's not good to use or better than the controller. You stated you have actually used a XIM before? Was it your own or may I ask the circumstance of how or why you used it?
@@Graslu00 Dang dude is there a way I could get a good profile for it? I would really appreciate it because I am not that skilled at programming it to make it work right for PD.
@@larsulrich3356 Well... I don't have it, so I can't help you there. The game has the deadzone that can't be changed so there's that too. I've been told that the Battlefront 2 profile seems to work pretty nicely on the new GoldenEye Xbox release but that's different to PD but maybe worth a try. But again you're not getting around the skips on small movements.
I'm REALLY surprised Rihanna didn't put a lawsuit on Microsoft for using her likeness in the remake. Cause HOO boy that would have been BAD as all hell.
One other thing I forgot to add is I have played games with locked deadzones on sticks before with the XIM and I was still able to get a pretty close to 1:1 aiming ratio.
Each game varies. You can try for yourself, again. Simply move the stick slowly and you'll notice it's not registering any input until you're almost past the middle point.
@@Graslu00 Yeah but a deadzone is a deadzone. It doesn't matter how big the deadzone is XIM has conquered just about every game with a hardcoded deadzones. In fact most of them were and were not changeable. Have you even tried a XIM before? I really think you need to a least try out the thrustmaster Eswap X pro. After I got this controller I'll never go back. You really need to try out the deadzone thing on this controller man. I swear it's a trip and it doesn't make any sense to me either.
@@larsulrich3356 I don't have the need to spend money on these as I just play on PC. I've seen the XIM4 on Perfect Dark before though as in the video I shared. Small movements still skip because of that deadzone.
@@Graslu00 Like I was saying most of the games that XIM is used on has a deadzone and it works. It has to be some other issue. My controller was set to two different dead zones and no other setting like ballistic curves are the only other. The dead zones react at different deflections as well. Please link the video with the perfect dark XIM video you are talking about?
@@larsulrich3356 Again, the two profiles act differently because your controller is set two different deadzones ON TOP of the game's forced deadzone, so of course they feel different. Here's the link again th-cam.com/video/j6pO-bXu-Kg/w-d-xo.html Small movements skip because of the built in deadzone.
I'm sorry what?! They changed the entire Carrington villa mission I was sitting here waiting for her to jump off the ship with her sniper and it just never happened I am Pikachu surprise face rn
The aiming stick has a 45% deadzone preventing accurate movements. The movement stick isn't calibrated properly so strafe running is almost impossible. Online multiplayer has an incredible amount of input delay in coop and combat simulator is P2P so enemies will teleport most of the time. Art style is either a hit or miss, personally I'm fine with it though. Music plays wrong, too much reverb and some notes are extended too much while also being too high pitch.
@@Graslu00 That is what i wanted to hear. Thank you, mostly for warning. Ive recently beat goldeneye, unlocked all the cheats and was planning to finally get my hands on PD. So whats the best choice to get both: pleasant graphical visuals and low-deadzone controls?your GEPD 1964 build?
@@ГригорийБуров-м1ъ For casual play XBLA is fine, specially if the GoldenEye version you beat is also the Xbox one. But for the best experience if you have a PC, yes I'd recommend 1964 GEPD. You can use a controller and have native dual stick controls too if you want. I can help with that if needed.
@@Graslu00 Well, ive beat GE on my x360, it was relatively OK experience, though troughout the entire walktrough ive never been abandoned by the feeling, that og n64 analog feels differently(though i never had one, so i might be mistaken).
Would be nice if Perfect Dark gets a trigger discipline mod like Goldeneye. If it does, could you play that next?
Hi neer a bit of help so uh what does livestream mean? Does Graslu00 play games like the other games i saw or doee he do this in a special way. Need a bir of help. @anyone
Livestream means it was played live, that's it. This one is a recording, not live.
How many restarts did this take?
Wow John Wick goes way back…..
Joanna wick…
@@baseche9253 🤣 soooo good.
Thanks Gras
Grasping I need your help !?!?! I have a Lenovo legion go and I want perfect dark on it how do I do it ?
Play the PC port release, emulating the XBLA version is not worth it (worse controls, graphical issues).
Nice work
fantastic playing for a fantastic game. the so called reboot will take long yet, but it better be good, because PD zero didn't make justice to this one.
Eehhh what reboot? Is it legal?
Dude looks like Robbie Coltrane in the 90s. 10:12
One more question did you say that perfect dark XBLA was at 45% deadzone or was that the N64? What is Goldeneye's XBLA deadzone?
Only XBLA. N64 has no deadzones since the stick is optical, it doesn't need them. GoldenEye XBLA has either 0% or really low default deadzone.
@@Graslu00 Heh that though is educational.
8:00 holy moly, I didn't know
When's the next world tournament ?
I forgot about the cheese.
How did you get the game to bypass the online check when starting a game?
I simply played in offline mode, there's no requirement for it if you own it digitally or on Rare Replay.
How do you get the gun you used to shoot the last one
Destroying all the pillars including the unmarked ones.
What's your emulator build and settings?
@@Street_Hawk This is not emulated
Damn I missed out. I have the game but never played the Campaign.
Then pop it in and play
I think that all deadzones have their issues with the XIM when it comes to the smaller incremental movements until the deadzone is "activated" on the mouse. I think they're ALL this way but it doesn't mean it's not good to use or better than the controller. You stated you have actually used a XIM before? Was it your own or may I ask the circumstance of how or why you used it?
It's not mine, it's a friend that tested it and uploaded the video I shared earlier. Never got one myself.
Here's the link again th-cam.com/video/j6pO-bXu-Kg/w-d-xo.html
Small movements skip because of the built in deadzone.
I'm sorry what?! They changed the entire Carrington villa mission I was sitting here waiting for her to jump off the ship with her sniper and it just never happened I am Pikachu surprise face rn
No it's not changed. Always been like that in Perfect Agent difficulty.
Can somebody tell me what exactly was wrong with this xbla remaster? I ve heard many claims that 60fps is the only pro in its regard
I mean when it comes to the surgeon-like skilled precise aiming the deadzone constantly interrupts making crosshair moving too rough (yet bearable). Almost the same thing was experienced when i tried GE on Mupen64 by using dualshock 4. So if xbla PD's case with the deadzone is even worse id definetly favor n64 emulated option.
And yeah, thanks for your help offer, but i think i can handle this remapping stuff.
Yeah GE XBLA on 360 has muuuch better controls than PD XBLA, ironic. The N64 analog is way more precise by design too, since it's an optical sensor.
Very good
how is the aiming compared to GE XBLA; is it worse ?
Waaaay worse. It's a 45% deadzone.
How do you get the guy to be there and open the door @ Area 51 rescue @ 42:45
Make sure to knock out the guy at 35:15, and that he doesn't die by the explosion of the drone or anything. Then he'll open the door on the next level.
@@Graslu00 ahh I see, thank you
