Excited to try these out. Love the Epic React 2 (and the UB 19) but interested in these too. And I love the sense of humour. Keep it up guys and girls.
Nike went and tweaked the Epic React again giving us the React Infinity Run Flyknit... Are you ready for it? Let us know if you'll be grabbing yourself a pair in 2020. And stay tuned for a future performance review. Thanks for watching!
Just FYI, these aren't anything to do with the Epic Reacts. They are the successor to the Nike Structure series. They're meant for overpronators or oversupinators.
@@Drew.Whitcomb They have not specifically mentioned it, however, there has been zero mention of a structure 23 release, with the 22 being released and reviewed over a year ago, and they have directly compared them to the 22 in the study on injury risk. I think it would be a fair assumption to make that they are positioning them as the replacement to the structure line.
Mrs Nightwing is spitting truth. Adidas ultraboost 2019 is a legit running shoe. Also, Nike Epic react is an amazing running shoe. Training half marathons, putting in work with both. Keep up the great work!
I am sooooooooo looking forward to these!!! I love my epic reacts and epic react 2. Hopefully they send the proper size so you can get a better feel for it. Looking forward to the performance review. The pics of drew are hilarious 😂
I wanted the epic react, but they didn’t quite fit me how I would’ve liked. The Pegasus line has always been good to me both for comfort and fit. But I always liked how react felt so I’m hoping these fit better #widefootgang
Do you really have wide feet or does Nike run narrow? I'm looking forward to trying these. Might be the first Nikes that work for me. I wear regular width in all brands of running shoes except Nike.
Lani A I’m flat footed so my feet tend to be wider than most. I personally find that Nike’s regular size runs a tad narrow for me. Sometimes it breaks in, just depends. I haven’t tried these on yet but I hope to soon
They run quite snug even for narrow feet. I had to run a half a size up. Although it started expanding around the ankle area since there’s no support from lace locks like the fly wires on Pegasus 36. The expand can be worked with using runners knot. Look it up on TH-cam. Besides that point they’re a gem. A lot of return energy and feels like they reduce fatigue compare to my Pegasus. Wouldn’t complain since they came with a sale for 100 on finish line
Very interesting video for a non runner to watch, lots of very revealing and incisive information about running. The shoes look like they could be a great performer
I've been waiting forever to get a stability shoe with react on it, and first impressions seem to be it's exactly what I'm looking for. More rubber, wider forefoot, higher stack height, and a wider more stable platform with a guidance frame. I'm interested on what the heel-to-toe drop is on this though. It looks more like 8 mil rather than Nike's traditional 10. And the "preventative" injury aspect is a topic that's been heavily pushed in the past few years mostly in stability shoes. For years the accepted way to fight ankle overpronation was to use have a firmer wedge placed in the inner side of a shoe. However, that wedge was often times too harsh for most which resulted in knee injuries. However, if those people moved to more neutral shoes, they would have less knee problems but more ankle and lower leg problems. Which has led companies to doing what Nike has done here. No harder posting, just foam and some sort of guidance system.
Just started running again. Can’t wait for these to come out! Thanks for the video! Really sold me on these more so then I previously saw in the press release. Thanks Nightwing!
@@CatchbullY Exactly. I'm eagerly awaiting the release of Vomero 15 so I can either grab those if they're a lot better than the 14's, or pick up the 14's at a steep discount.
Jesus, they finally put full length rubber on the bottom. Why the hell didn’t they didn’t do that on the first one, beats me. Love that tongue too. Similar to Pegasus line, which are some of my favorite shoes of all time.
@@joshcontreras8821 depends on the shoe. For example, the Vaporfly Next% has rubber and no one complains about losing the energy return. It's all in how the rubber is implemented.
@@Drew.Whitcomb but the 4% isnt react foam like this shoe in the video or the epics. I was talking about react foam not zoom x but i understand what u mean
Josh Contreras Zoom Fly 3 has the same outsole as the Next% but is React + Carbon plate. That shoe has a ton of energy return and bounce too. I wonder if it may come down to the thickness of the rubber. Go above a certain thickness and maybe energy return gets sapped. That’s possible.
At the event they did say they took learnings from the Next% and applied them here. But at this point almost every brands is implementing a rocker motion of some sort.
Brooks Ghost 2E (I have slightly a wide and flat foot) are the best running sneakers in my opinion. I have worn Nikes on several occasions and like them but they're slightly narrow for me. I have never ran in Adidas Ultra Boost, but have only used them to stretch and wouldn't because of the lack of ankle support.
Ik. I posted it when he said the article didn't explain alot about the shoe. Sorry, just relaying what learned from what learned and studied about this shoe a few weeks ago. I love this channel! You guys are dope.
While unrealistic, I do HOPE that one day we can prevent injuries. Imagine a pair of basketball shoes that somehow prevents all ankle sprains and knee problems. Man, that would be amazing.
Nike runs narrow in general in my opinion. I wear regular width in all brands of running shoes and have never fit in Nikes because of width. I'm excited to try these out because I do like the react foam.
But is this shoe really a successor to the Epic React FK 2? I for one don't like this new heavy rocker. Btw. React is a rubberized foam so the exposed foam is not so much of a problem.
I have to desagree. Yes, you can prevent injuries! But you can not do this with/because of a specific pair of running shoes. I’m a physiotherapist and ultramarathoner.
Hoping theses are stable enough for me. The Epic React gave me knee problems even through casual wear, the sole‘s just too soft. Crossing my fingers these work well for me..

Anyone who does serious running will find that the "react" cushioning is way to soft and "mushy." I personally would pick up the full length zoom running shoes i.e Pegasus 35 and 36. I find my feet don't fatigue as easily; the Pegasus 35 are my go to!
I see plenty of Zoom Fly 3s at races and that midsole is 100% React. The Pegasus Turbo 2 midsole is 1/2 React & 1/2 ZoomX. Both are some of the better shoes of the year IMO. The Vomero 14 is a React midsole with full length Zoom Air. React has made the transition to serious running and I think it's here to stay.
Very subjective response but it’s all good. I was a pure peg guy from the 28-34. In between that i dipped my feet in other Nike solos but the epics were an awesome change of pace (excuse my pun). I don’t think it’s that soft or mushy. It’s a good median to keep you pushing long miles (longest I’ve done is 10 miles in my epics) but i switched up to zoom flys and now I’ve been stuck on the turbos since the first pair. Just depends on how you run and what you wanna feel. No reason to limit yourself if you consider yourself a “serious runner”
