Students can choose to take their exams in a library study room, on campus in any of our study spaces, or any other neutral environment. There is no requirement that students take exams in their home or bedroom if they don't want to. I've also seen students hang a sheet up behind them if they would like more privacy. And then of course, students can choose to enroll in courses that offer in-person testing and therefore avoid Honorlock proctoring all together. But when it comes to online testing, it is absolutely imperative that educators use proctoring tools to help ensure academic integrity, honesty, and fairness. That depends on your instructor! You should ask, but typically I would say flipping through pages during a test is not a good idea. You want to do whatever you can to avoid suspicion.
