I worked at McDonalds many moons ago. Once had a drunk dude come in at like 6:30am and start throwing food at me because he was mad the drive through got his order wrong. Nevermind that I wasn’t even working drive through, and I had nothing to do with whatever happened with his food. We called the cops but he was gone by the time they got there. Be kind to workers, folks! Fast food is a rough job.
As a teen, my pop (one of the earliest drive throughs in that area) was working night shift at a JackInTheBox, he was approached by a drunk who tried to climb through the window, out the drivers window of his car (presumably to steal the register) so my dad (a nerdy looking kid like Marty McFlys dad) punched him back out before he got completely in and shut the window. The dining room was already locked. The guy was arrested, but released and came back about 4-5 hours later. He performed a "citizens arrest" on my dad for assult, who was in the holding facility for about an hour before they tossed it as self defense and pop was allowed to leave.
The issue is that people who would act this way don't see service workers as people trying to make a living or to gain experience. They see them as you would see a robot
@ agreed, and it’s terrible. Another thing is can’t stand is when people yell at workers for following the policy their employer requires they follow. Remember Covid mask mandates? Like some guy working the door at a Walmart wants to be policing that shit? Probably the last thing that guy wanted to do was bug people just trying to live their lives, but his job required it. And he’d get yelled at, attacked, etc, all for just doing what his damn job told him to do.
Yes be kind and in the guys defense that threw a fit people get tired of paying for lousy food and getting their order wrong they work for their money that pays for the food and that matters as well so since it's not rocket science why don't u people take the job a lil more serious and get the food out to the customer in the right manner 🤨
Centreville is tiny…probably no more than 1400-1500 people. Judge Middleton is an excellent judge ruling fairly and pragmatically. He knows his area well
A drunk driver, who killed someone a year earlier while drunk, ended up killing my brother. Both judges were chill like Judge Middleton. The drunk only got probation after each killing.
It just baffles me that people drink vodka straight. Unless it's flavored, it's literally meant to have no color or flavor and used only as a fortifier for other ingredients lol
My guy is a high flyer. Whomst among us hasn't had a verbal altercation at a McDonald's when driving our girlfriend's car while high and drunk with our friends?
So this guy thinks, "I make good decisions when I'm sober. It's when I'm drunk or on drugs that I make bad decisions." So why ever make the choice to drink or do drugs?
I mean they put a offer out. The judge ultimately makes a decision anyway. Plus the judge even calls the defendant out for his rep sheet. Didn't need to be there when he could be out getting discovery lmao but everyone should be present
That's actually standard practice in Michigan's district courts. You'll see the same thing in Judge Simpson's court or any other district court in Michigan.
I despise drunks who abuse low paid workers. People blame the alcohol, but alcohol does not make you aggressive and abusive. Alcohol merely reveals the true nature of your personality. Some people are very sweet when they are drunk and only a nuisance because they want to sing and talk loudly. Those people have a good character. The aggressive and abusive ones are rotten people, rotten to the core. They might be able to control it while sober, but the horribleness is there all the time, just covered by a thin veneer that alcohol breaks through.
Alcohol does not bring the “true nature” out of people, different types of alcohol does different things to different people, for example, I stay away from whiskey because whiskey makes me cranky, angry, and impatient, but I’m the complete opposite when I drink beer. Alcohol works differently to other people. The “brings out people’s true nature” is false, and incorrect, it makes people make mistakes
@ I have been drunk on every kind of alcohol there is, and I can assure you that the myth about different alcohols having different effects is nonsense, with the single exception of Absinthe. Absinthe has a second intoxicating ingedient in it called thujone and thujone is more of a sedative, and can be hallucinatory so it does provide a different kind of high than all other alcoholic drinks. But the alcohol molecule itself is exactly the same molecule, no matter which flavorants are with it. What matters is the quantity of alcohol in the bottle. Obviously, the far greater alcoholic concentration in whisky gets you drunker than beer does. That is all there is to it. Another big myth is that mixing drinks gets you drunker than sticking to a single alcohol. It is totally impossible for the human brain to tell whether the alcohol molecule came from rum or wine, and whether or not they were mixed. However, people who are mixing drinks are usually drinking more than they might normally do, and so it is possible for them to get drunker, although, it is equally possible for them to get less drunk, if their total alcohol consumption is lower. There are all sorts of nonsensical myths around alcohol. There is the ridiculous one promoted by the wine industry that a glass of red per day extends your life expectancy. It doesn't, but it does sell more red wine. Alcohol is always harmful to the body, even in small doses, but what the heck, it sure makes life more enjoyable while alive. There are some French reds that are absolutely divine, and South African whites to die for, and I adore an aged South Australian tawny port. And as to whisky. I love nothing more than a good aged single malt. It has never once caused me to feel cranky, angry, and impatient. If it was the fault of the type of alcohol, then we would all get affected the same way. We do NOT get affected the same way. I am sorry that those qualities are in your personality, but don't blame a good scotch for that. For me it just causes me to be a little more talkative than usual, and it puts a big smile on my face and makes my cheeks feel warm. You need to start observing people when they are drinking. Some are always happy drunks, and others get aggressive. The amount they drink is a big factor, but even some beer drinkers can get nasty when they drink too much, although that is country dependent. Some countries have very strong beer, and other countries have very weak beer. It takes a lot more weak beer to have a big effect compared to strong beers.
Every drug effects people differently. Alcohol does not make people more sincere, but it does alter their emotions in different ways depending on their biology and the environment. When people lash out violently while drunk, it is often because they feel very angry once they start drinking, even if they didn’t feel angry before. The same goes for people who sing and smile, as the alcohol also can give people euphoria. Different people in different circumstances can respond wildly differently to any drug, including alcohol.
Years of alcoholism do raise levels of aggression. There are changes in neurochemistry. Still many people can be naturally so calm that they won't be called aggressive anyway. But if we talk about one party, I agree.
Sadly the prosecutor at the time was just AWFUL. He rarely sends an ADA to Court causing reductions like this or outright dismissals. Luckily a new Prosecutor takes Office soon winning the election. This is an example of Prosecutors being lazy and ideological. If you do even a simple google search you can find the LEO and Prosecutor problems in this area
Why would the judge go forward when there is NO ONE to represent the prosecution's side? Oh, the jail is under construction and no one can use it for 3 months on the weekends? And right now there's no one running the Sherriff's dept? Criminals, THIS is your place! No one is running the law, no one has room at the jail on weekends, good times!!! Are you f'n kidding me?
The defense wasn't prejudiced by their absence so there was no reason to dismiss the case. The judge was able to make a decision considering all of the evidence he already had. I guess if the prosecution had to miss a case this would have been the one to miss.😅
If the charges were dropped than I think it's wrong that we have access to videos like this. How embaressing and wrong. Now I don't know what happened with this guy, nor am I really thinking about him. I'm just saying think about how you would feel being accused of a heinous crime and then being relieved when the charges were dropped, just to have the video like the one we just watched available to the public and ultimately published on you tube. I'm all about transparency, but not when charges were dropped.🤷♂️ Nothing against this channel. The video was public.
I don’t understand who it would benefit if the video was removed if the charges were dropped. He still did what he did. And even if you’re just merely accused, the video exists to preserve the record, which preserves the rights of the parties involved and/or charged. Like, OJ Simpson was technically acquitted of the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman: should every and all video of the trial be purged from the internet?
