Hut to Hut Hiking in Iceland

This was my first long-distance trek after the pandemic lockdown and it blew my mind. The Laugavegur is a hut-to-hut trail with astounding landscapes. One of the best things about hiking all day is that you have hours to take it all in. And it still wasn’t enough. I want to go back.
Huts can be reserved through the Iceland Travel Association or by booking a tour. Check out adventure.is. There’s also the option to camp, but the weather can be really brutal, even in July and August, Iceland’s best weather months.
The Laugavegur is only 34 miles, but don’t rush it. Take 3 to 5 days to increase your odds for good weather days and so you can hike on the Fimmvörðuháls, another over-the-top awesome trail.
