I used to work for Arqiva, have been up the tower a few times, it is truly a strange feeling ascending in the darkness in the lift. On the second trip up the tower the lift halted abrupty which made us all jump, sadly it was my fat arse that had pressed against the emergency stop button. In a good breeze you can feel the tower flexing, still an amazing experience.

My old man worked for the IBA from 1970 till 1991 and he was based there, they had family Christmas parties there and that was only the times I went onto the site. My dad and 5 of his brothers worked on the building of the 1st mast ( maybe not a claim to fame!🤦‍♂️🤣), he was full facts about the mast such as it can move up to 7ft at the top in the wind ... he loved working there...

      John 3:16-21
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
      Mark 1.15
15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
      2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
      Hebrews 11:6
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Really cool video :) I'm most interested in the radio side of this transmitter site, like the audio processors (and RDS encoders) a couple of other commenters mentioned. I'd be interested to see more on the radio transmitters themselves, but there doesn't seem to be any videos of UK ones that go in detail with a guy talking to the camera, even though I've seen quite a few American ones. Is it just not allowed to that extent in the UK?

The one it replaced was taller than this and just a metal tube. It fell over in a bad winter due to ice buildup on it and the guide wires. I assume they went the concrete way what didn't need guide wires to hold it up because we get bad weather up here and they did not want a replacement one to fall over too. This is a couple miles up the road from where i live.
