What a great life partner you have. Not only beautiful, but shares you interests in guns, hunting, camping, and enjoying the true beauty of South Africa. Whether you are hunting or not, most of the scenery you show us of your homeland is breath taking. Thanks for taking us along.
OH... MY... GOSH... Your intro and music absolutely floored me. You live in a land truly blessed by G-d. Your observation about a poor hunting day reminds me of my Pa's saying, "The fishing is always good -- the catching, eh, maybe not so much." Getting out hunting and camping with good friends is the reward in itself. If I find game, I am blessed. If I bring something to bag, I am humbled. G-d's blessings be upon you.
A bad day hunting is better always than a good day at work my friends. Your blessed that you can make a living doing it and I am so happy for y’all that y’all can because I really enjoy the videos you share with us. I’m in USA South Western Pennsylvania. My are is beautiful with all it mountains but I have to admit…your country is absolutely breathtaking with is abundance of wildlife and habitat. Truly amazing. Thank you both for bringing us along. Stay blessed.
Hi Matt, I really hope you appreciate the fact that you have a pretty incredible (pretty female) partner that actually shares your enthusiasm of outdoor life. To the young lady Nicole, please continue your positive influence. Your content is amazing, sometimes I have real a homesick feeling, I'm an older guy, born & grew up in RSA, spent a lot of time in the veld & bush, learning to love and appreciate the fauna and flaura.
My friend got invited to go to Africa in the late 80’s. I asked him what it was like. He said he shot monkeys until he felt bad. That scope is really nice!
Really enjoyed this video. I really got an image of a little part of your personal life and a big image of Africa. Wow! Also liked you showing the misses along with the hits. Love that. It’s real! More of these coming, I hope? I was wondering about snakes, what kind, etc.
Awesome video Matt and it turned out to be a great hunt with a lot of excellent shooting you definitely from the sweet spot with going early morning and I'd say you and Nicole had an amazing time taking in the beautiful scenery. Cheers
You might consider a drone rigged for monkey retrieval. There's plenty out now with the power you need plus it may help keep your scent outta the area of elimination.
I like your effort and your pro attitude. I think that confirming every kill is essential to being called an environmental hunter (if such a term exists). I get that part of the thrill is terminating life from a distance, but so is the responsibility to ensure you have done just that. Else what are we when we say we are one thing and the outcome is different?
Man, I would never walk in tall grass or brush anywhere in Africa! Seems like an unpleasant surprise is almost a guarantee! You guys down there are a brave lot! 💯
this guy is crazy. parking that close to a cliff.... my car tumbled off the mountains between Flagstaff and Payson,AZ... 3-6 flips, car ended upside down. Luckily my car was a convertible top down.. i slid out the back. I'm terrified of mountains with no trees now.
I live in india and monkeys are destroying our water pipes, destroying the farms stealing food from houses I wish you are at our area. People in our area are all frustrated
I appreciate your decision not to shoot the warthog since you didn't have prearranged verbal permission. That's a nice reflection of your inherent respect for the landowner.
The old timers used to tell me to let a goose age before consuming. Well after years of trying different marinades etc... I found the ticket. You need to let goose meat age before consuming! It works. I no longer eat tough geese. Let a whole cleaned ,plucked goose hang in a cooler, or breast meat in the fridge. Chow !
What an amazing place to be able to shoot, absolutely fantastic. Your videos are always so enjoyable with a wealth of information. Minor observation - the 2 shots around 20m 30s you have a little bit of flinch apparent, just a little twitch on the right eye and side. Can't see you doing it with your other setups. I sometimes get the same when using some zero eye relief such as with my NV007 Add-On, but weirdly I don't get it with my NV008 🤷♂️ I'm not sure exactly what triggers it with me but if I become aware I of it I can mentally stop doing it if that makes sense. Thanks again for sharing 🙏👍
i love how this channel is like my secret weapon when i need something good to watch, always reserve these videos for later because i know its going to be sweet
With huge hollow point cups on the front of those slugs, they truly are drag buckets. I am surprised those slugs travel even 200 meters, never mind 580 meters. But at that distance you can probably catch them safely in a cupped hand, they would have so little residual energy.
Anytime you are in Witmanskloof, know it will be a great video. I dont watch your technical videos but the two of you deserve a great, life as normal vlog. :)
Hi Matt awesome video as always beautiful country I wanted to ask you do you use a tungsten hammer in your green machine ? Or just the regular slug kit with two spacer I'm just curious I to have a m3 in 22 with a slug kit installed 700mm barrel shooting 34 gr javelin at 1000fps both regs are hight sec is at 170 bar but I fine myself grabbing my fx mk2 25 cal 700mm pp shooting 37 gr zan at 1010 fps reg at 165 bar with regular slug kit but I just received two tungsten hammer and undecided rather to put the tungsten hammer in one or the other guns or both guns I mean if they are shooting just fine I Think I'll leave them alone anyway I was just asking if you use the tungsten in your green machine thanks for sharing bsafe guys on your journey 😉
Love the quality of your videos, especially your technical and informative videos on airguns and ballistics. I have hunted on occasion myself, but only for food or to eliminate individual pests that I directly witness damaging my property, landscaping or garden crops. I'd like to suggest you try free-hand shooting rather than always using rests and bipods. Much more challenging since the weapons and optics are so accurate now that, other than adjusting for wind and distance for which you're also using high-tech equipment, it's not much of challenge to make these hits now. Even the odds a little more, even if it means coming up up empty-handed on a hunt. These long-range hits are an impressive display of the equipment's capabilities...but stalking and free-hand shooting at closer distances are a real statement of the hunter's capabilities.
Follow up, your morals on not shooting the Warthog, TOP! Honourable! On the Goose, that is tough - make a Goose Potjie with lots of onions, a bit of garlic, with a good dose of pepper & orange juice/ fruit, let it simmer, maybe a shot of Tassies. Ooh dit kan net lekker wees, mmmhhh. By the way, plakkies=flip-flops=SSNG=SuperSlipNoGrip shoes. Pasop broer wees veilig ,dankie.
Hello and thank you for your great videos and your explanations. I live in France and have been shooting PCP for a few years. I wanted to know your camera system which is present on your riflescope. You film while keeping the possibility of having an eye in the viewfinder. Is this system for sale, if so what is the brand or the site where I can find it and does it fit on all riflescopes? Thanks again for your reply. Have Fun !
If you made a partial ghillie suit you would get them monkeys a lot more often. My opinion take it for what it is LOL, if you had a water pump, each time you pass a creek suck up enough water to fill your tank and put out makeshift watering holes.

Idk, I think I’d rather deal with a cubicle than be mauled by a grizzly or a polar bear. Like hands down
Both your travelling and Hunting videos are Remarkable. Love the HD about them.😊

Hey brother Matt; hunting is just like fishing, it's why we call it fishing, not catching... Cheers Mate... 🤣🤣🤣
Probably with the trusty old Martini Henry or Lee Enfield!

Is 15gr 5.5mm from a budget pcp rifle rated to around 650fps enough power for hunting monkeys at around 20m?
With such low power of course it has not got the power to humanely dispatch a monkey
No. All you will get is wounded animals. Monkeys are tough.
A bad day of hunting still beats the best day in the office.
Another way to judge distance is by using a stopwatch in this instance. Sound travels at 343m/s. I realized this possibility by watching your vids.

Its got a hammer weight, but not tungsten! Tungsten weight only really helps with 800mm barrel and heavy slugs

It probably would have resulted in a strike, but it would have been so fitting to hear "This monkey's gone to heaven..." at some point in the vidja.
