After having worked in dementia care for over 2 decades, the uncle's family in the first story absolutely disgust me. You do NOT have someone who has no experience with dementia look after them. And yes, they can become very violent. So wrong on so many levels.
As someone who had a grandfather with serious dementia I find the first story very disturbing. They hired someone who had no experience in handling people with dementia, they didn't inform the person how bad his condition was and they didn't even bother with introducing them to each other. All of this shows they have no respect for the poor uncle... a person with that severe dementia(yes they can get violent) cannot just have anybody taking care of them. I don't comment much but this really was disturbing to me... with my grandfather we went above and beyond for him to feel as comfortable as he could be. People with dementia go through hell, it is literal torture for them! Just imagine having someone you don't know stay in the house with you... now think how a person with dementia would feel!! The thought of going somewhere and just hiring a friend to take care of our grandfather never crossed our minds! This is so irresponsible and disturbing. People don't do this to your sick family members!
I thought the same thing. Assuming this story really is true, the fact that they seemingly haven’t told any professional about his condition is really irresponsible imo. Not only does he need proper help from someone who truly understands his condition, but if he’s potentially dangerous it’s simply disgusting because he could hurt himself or others.

Uncle in the vid seems to have quite a severe dementia from what I can gather... Some symptoms are: loss of memory (from not remembering daily tasks in the beginning to not remembering your own family members in the end), strange behaviour, aggression, disorientation, hollucinatons... every case is different but people with dementia need TLC care around the clock. They can forget who they are or where they are going and get lost, they get panic attacks from not knowing what is going on around them and can get hurt, even hurt themselves. Our grandfather was aggressive and wanted to hit us simply out of confusion and fear. There were 4 of us taking care of him day and night (we could not get him a spot in a retirement home and my mom is a caretaker in one so she has experience), sleeping by his side, I had to stay home from school a cuple of times... he would not sleep at night and I played board games with him (even up to 4am) while studying for my tests. It was tough even for 4 people I cannot imagine this uncle to be taken care of by just one person...
I understand you completely, it's the same with my grandma. This story wasn't scary to me. It was told from a point of view of a guy who clearly wasn't knowledgeable on this subject, so he feared what he didn't understand
My grandfather had it and we lost many nurses cuz he became very vilonte as it got worse but one nurse stayed through all his BS and we really appeared her

It is true. Once I was sleeping in my grandparents house, when I waked up in the middle of the night with my grandfather who had dementia sitting in the sofa chair next to my bed. It wasn't a big deal, I just waked up my grandmother to put him back to his bed.

We were the only ones in the house & were all at the kitchen table for breakfast. Nothing was disturbed on either the top or bottom shelf, & the middle shelf had not fallen or leaned or anything. Just everything that was on that shelf was quite literally thrown against the farthest wall. & This was only 1 incident that happened in that house & ALL of the incidents were preceded by StepDad yelling & screaming at 1 of us kids. Once he came running out of the bedroom he'd walked into after screaming at us & he was white as a sheet & DEMANDED to know which 1 of us ran into the bedroom & grabbed him. None of us had. We were all sitting in front of the TV watching TGIF & nobody had moved. We were told that the entire block of our street, not just our house, was built over an old children's home that had burned down a long time ago & that some of the kids & adults there had perished in the building. & So ppl concluded that these spirits did NOT like adults screaming at kids. 🤷 But some ppl believe me & others think I'm exaggerating or making it up. I'm not. I can't force ppl to believe me. So I don't try. But I do share the story whenever I feel the need. My family didn't talk about what happened there for a very long time bc we were each trying to come to grips w\it. But years & years after we moved, we finally spoke about it, & all of our memories were the exact same from the adults to teenager, to child. I was the youngest. But we didn't have to change our stories bc we remembered VERY clearly. I've never seen a ghost or spirit w\my own eyes. But I won't ever deny that they exist or could exist. Those experiences & a few others that dealt w\a phone from a funeral home are burned in my 🧠!

As someone who has watched a loved one pass from dementia I can say that the behavior in the second story sadly seems mostly normal for the later stages. Since the OP and the uncle were not introduced at all the uncle probably thought there was a stranger in his house and he didn't want to be caught by them. I've heard of worse things happening when the dementia affected person gets their hands on a weapon or phone and calls the police.

Mr. Nightmare doesn't has many supernatural stories. And I personally enjoy these more, because I find them a lot more realistic. But there are many stories like that one you said you like on other channels.

@@Dina-zb2cv I'm surprised ppl are SO adamant that ghosts or spirits can't exist too. Maybe bc they haven't experienced something. Idk where I fall on the believer scale. But I did have a few encounters as a child that really left an impression on me. The 1 that cannot be explained any other way, ppl would rather believe is just made up or that I don't remember correctly. But I do. There were 3 glass shelves in my living room & each shelf held glass knick knacks & whatnot on them. During breakfast, my stepfather started yelling at me & cussing at me & we heard a series of loud crashes, so we ALL got up to go look. (All= Stepdad, Mom, Sis, Bro, & Me.) We were the only ones in the house & were all at the kitchen table for breakfast. So we went to look & EVERY item on ONLY the middle shelf was shattered at the base of the wall on the opposite side of the room from the shelf. Which was a pretty large & spacious room. Nothing was disturbed on either the top or bottom shelf, & the middle shelf had not fallen or leaned or anything. Just everything that was on that shelf was quite literally thrown against the farthest wall. & This was only 1 incident that happened in that house & ALL of the incidents were preceded by StepDad yelling & screaming at 1 of us kids. Once he came running out of the bedroom he'd walked into after screaming at us & he was white as a sheet & DEMANDED to know which 1 of us ran into the bedroom & grabbed him. None of us had. We were all sitting in front of the TV watching TGIF & nobody had moved. We were told that the entire block of our street, not just our house, was built over an old children's home that had burned down a long time ago & that some of the kids & adults there had perished in the building. & So ppl concluded that these spirits did NOT like adults screaming at kids. 🤷 But some ppl believe me & others think I'm exaggerating or making it up. I'm not. I can't force ppl to believe me. So I don't try. But I do share the story whenever I feel the need. My family didn't talk about what happened there for a very long time bc we were each trying to come to grips w\it. But years & years after we moved, we finally spoke about it, & all of our memories were the exact same from the adults to teenager, to child. I was the youngest. But we didn't have to change our stories bc we remembered VERY clearly. I've never seen a ghost or spirit w\my own eyes. But I won't ever deny that they exist or could exist. Those experiences & a few others that dealt w\a phone from a funeral home are burned in my 🧠!

As someone who has watched a loved one pass from dementia I can say that the behavior in the second story sadly seems mostly normal for the later stages. Since the OP and the uncle were not introduced at all the uncle probably thought there was a stranger in his house and he didn't want to be caught by them. I've heard of worse things happening when the dementia affected person gets their hands on a weapon or phone and calls the police.
