@@metroidcomet1116 narratively speaking it makes no sense honestly. if we’re going with canon, it was always set in stone that Eren and Mikasa only had feelings for each other.
it honestly doesn't make any sense since there's a few hints indicating that historia actually tease mikasa about eren and most of them clearly knew about eren's feelings towards mikasa even jean knows it
Eren left zero implications about being in love with Mikasa until the very end of the story, their relationship’s progression isn’t great at all. Season 2 finale. They were supposed to kiss before being eaten by Dina Fritz, but that idea was dropped and that moment wasn’t spoken of again. Then you also have the “what am I to you” question that we see in season 4, which could be an implication of Eren trying to change the future rather than confess his love to Mikasa. Doesn’t change the fact that their relationship isn’t developed well.
At least from Eren and Historia’s perspective, Historia had actually admired Eren’s headstrong personality. At first they were opposites of one another-Eren believed everyone was special just from being born, Historia believed she had to work for her spot in the world to prove she was special. After Historia shows her true self, Eren is the only one who acknowledges it and tells her that he likes the new side of her rather than the Krista facade she made up. After Historia saves Eren from the Reiss Chapel, it’s her who revitalizes his spirit and ideology rather than Mikasa or Armin. She’s the one who gets him back up on his feet. From then on, they were on the same page.
Then you have Eren’s protectiveness for Historia in the flashbacks before the events of Season 4 and the fact that he told her his genocidal plan rather than his closest friends. Eren not being the father was a bit stupid because at the time, Eren was the closest person to her. I can’t imagine Historia willingly getting married to a random nameless farmer who used to bully her as a kid.
Historia and Eren narratively makes more sense than people give it credit for
Oh, and another thing? The way Ymir reacts when Bertolt mentions Historia, she threatens to transform right on top of him while they try to escape from the Scouts. Eren reacts the same way once Hange assumes that Eren doesn’t care about Historia, yelling at her and almost transforming in his cell. That already creates a parallel between Eren and Ymir, two characters who are loyal/protective to Historia beyond everyone else.

@@metroidcomet1116 eren didn't tell his closest friend obviously because they will go against him when you can see that the moment he told historia his plan, he even threatened to manipulate her memories which something he can't do at all to mikasa. Isayama already planned their story from the moment eren woke up and ask mikasa why her hair is long and eren maybe not the best at expressing through the words but he clearly does through his action. Eren not protective towards historia only, he does the same to all his friend and both of them can be friends just fine even they admire each other and you miss the point that who's historia's baby father isn't important but why she get pregnant at first place that is the reason. It doesn't even make sense eren to be a father when he knew he will die soon, that man is depressed throughout the whole season 4 and if you wanna talk about how eren immediately wanted to transform once bertholdt did mention historia, he also did the same when he is with mikasa and armin back then and it's so obvious there's something going around between historia and ymir. Also in s1 mikasa saw a praying mantis and she also somewhat saw it again but she has turned a blind eye to it and in the ed we also saw mikasa looks like she's holding something and there's a mantis behind her when mantis well known for decapitating its partner and the last episode is shown mikasa holding eren's head when it's so obvious isayama already planned their story back then and proved eren and mikasa indeed have a feelings for each other even they didn't show it that well
Eren x Freedom is the most tragic ship in this show I swear!
