You can see the whole playlist of five videos here :
    • Part I - Headdress Bea...
When I was a kid, I had a great admiration for Native Americans and their craft I discovered in movies the french TV broadcasted every sunday night. This build was a challenge for me. I wanted to learn how to make a headdress, overcome all the difficulties and most importantly pay a tribute to the traditions and craft of the Native Americans I admired as a child. I know the importance of the headdress for Indians and the honor it is to have one or wear one, so please don't see in this video any disrespect for the culture or traditions of Native Americans, as I only mean to show respect and admiration for their craft.

In the second part, I'm preping the feathers for the headdress.
I ordered goose feathers because eagle feathers are too expensive and I don't want anybody to kill eagles to get feathers for me to use.
So, I used big, small and even smaller feathers, some coton fabric, coton thread and some leather for this build.
I also used some crazy glue and activator, but it's totaly optional if you want to make it more natural. using CA glue just make the assembly easier.
I hope you will like this second part. Stay tuned for the third one ;)

I am Native American, and though this style war bonnet has no place in my tribe, I want to take a moment to say that I think it is cool that so many people are interested in this. Many Indigenous and Native American groups disagree with these kinds of things but I love it! Why did they take the woman off of the land o lakes logo? It was cool! Why did they change the Redskins logo? It was cool too! Im tired of people disregarding the fact that some of these "stereotypes" are a source of pride and acknowledgment of native culture. In other words, keep it up! Also, try to do research on the subject too!

I saw your post of the feathers a while back and had no idea what the were for. Now it has contexts. I'm tempted to say forget my earlier advice about posting them every other day. lol.

Hey, I’ve seen some war bonnets where there is a part of the back side of the bonnet that extends down to hang off the back with more feathers and such. You should do a tutorial to make that part too!
