Great job and glad to have you two back. I really appreciate Jay’s candor and I agree the body is programmed from birth to be a certain size and getting jacked to 300lbs plus at 5’9 is hard on the body systems. I would love to hear more about Jay’s first wife and her obvious contribution to his success.

It’s good Jay does not have any health issues from the stuff he took to be the best he could be. Competing in the sport of bodybuilding is hard on the body as you get older. I won my Pro card in the IPE Natural Masters Men’s Physique in 2020 at the age of 60. I competed in 2021 as a Masters Pro bodybuilder. The diet to get more cut was hard for me at the age of 61. I enjoyed the in-depth conversation of Jays life from his past to present.

I’m at the age where the chats about house marketing and investing is actually interesting to hear tips and stories on. Really need to figure out how investing works and where to start.
Also I think it’s positive to share gear usage after retirement. I wish more females did the same. I know while you’re a pro in the sport it is frowned upon. Retirement seems like a better time to educate the up and coming. Remind them less is more and sometimes genetics needs to factor in. Family health history is a big one.

I do believe he has approached the sport about as well as anyone can,, and his healthy lifestyle is a model to follow for us all. Matt, I do hope you'll be joining Jay in October at the Natural Northern USA, if so I'll get to meet you both for the first time, as I'm competing in this event! Thanks fellas-Keith

    Hi Jay and Matt,
    Excellent pod cast!
If you visit Japan, you should visit the peace museum in Hiroshima...you won't be the same after your visit.
I was lucky enough to be stationed in Iwakuni back in 1984-85 while in the Marines. It is such a beautiful country, and the people are incredible, and they are so polite.
I find it best to always be honest in life...

I think it's very important to talk about drug use because back in the eighties I used to work out very hard i hade genetics but I remember watching Lee Haney and promoting the fact that he got that way without steroids and he was very convincing I actually believed him to the point where I just thought I wasn't working out enough I was hitting it constantly and wasn't making the gains and I thought what is wrong here How come I don't look like Lee Haney it's very frustrating when you find out later in life that it was all just a cover and they were just promoting their supplement line making you think that there's some type of supplement out there that's really helping you and you're buying into this spending a bunch of money on stuff that you don't need

I don't like masks either. I've been living in Japan since before COVID started (I'm Canadian, not Japanese), and I travel domestically within Japan a lot, and they have strict mask rules here too.
I don't like masks either, it often seems arbitrary and its uncomfortable. I have a thick beard, so it's itchy as fuck, and I have a big nose so the mask always falls down.
But it's not exactly this horrible inconvenience or oppression like you guys make it out to be everytime you talk about recent travels.
To me, it's a nuisance, but not this big conversation point and source of grievance. Just my 2 cents

“ For the Teenage Nationals I was pretty much natural “ are you serious? With that one statement you can rest assured nothing Jay says after that is remotely the truth… you’re full of crap !!!!!!

Finally! K.R. - you’re the only one calling bullshit in here! What does “I was pretty much natural” mean exactly? And I’m sure you’ll agree as someone who is in the know: of course Jay didn’t “cycle off” the way he is saying, but not because of the reason casuals are thinking. Not because he took son much - rather simply because he competed so much. By his own admittance - he used and abused when he was getting ready for a show. From 1999/2000-2009 the man crushed shows one after the next - sometimes competing in 3-4 or more shows a year. Why do you need to “cycle off” if you only have 2-3 months before your next show and you’re gonna be “on” whenever “getting ready” for a show? That’s why Jay didn’t “TRT between cycles.” He was, by necessity, almost always cycling because he was often winning and competing!
The podcast is cool and I think Jay was and is one of the best BBers of all time. But the drug talk and advice is Straight - Silly. And…if you’re gonna criticize people while expressing your concern for their well-being; tell the truth!
