Interesting! I grew up on a farm, on a river with hunting hounds! We did have a red chow for a while before someone unbeknownst shot it down by the river! I'm sure you will love one of those puppies! Not in California! Here people wait in line for months or even years for dogs from shelters! And it costs $950 to adopt a dog from a shelter! Our friends had to Drive to Texas to adopt a dog from a shelter because they couldn’t get one here. California also doesn’t allow pet stores. So only option is to buy from a personal breeder. I own two Golden Retrievers who are our family dogs and they had 9 puppies together! So, we gifted a dog to Karolina!
