Well you certainly made good use of London Road - both the garage and the road bridge. Our cameras capture the sight and the sound superbly - if only they could do the same with the smell! What a pity too that you weren't able to pick up the conversation between myself and Mick on Tangmere's footplate - it would have made a lovely humorous addition to the video. Here's to the next time!
Thanks Tim It sure would be good if there was some way to capture the smell of steam. I saw you chatting to the driver but unfortunate I was too far away to catch what was said Hope he enjoyed his tea. I had to go to Smiths for mine. It was brewed from an environmentally plastic tea bag. Not seen one of those before.
Thanks Dave Yea I like that view too glad I was able to get across the busy road there in time. Sadly Tangmere has had a major failure the other week. I don't know exactly what happened but the left cylinder is broken.
@@ccrx6700 Sadly not. My friend Leslie Gilpin got to see her being towed by a diesel the day after but they had covered the damage with a white sheet so we could not see, makes it sound pretty bad if they did that.
Another great steam day at the Citadel, apart from the platform 4 bowlage risk, happening!!!I nearly came today, but we ended up going to Llandudno and walking up and down the Great Orme (brilliant day for it). However I did see The Lakelander this morning and tonight! Just put the video up.
Thanks Phil. I decided on a day here as there is a direct train and the class 40 was 09:30 in Preston. We were so lucky it was a Trans Pennine departure at the end and not a long train Lovely day I think you did right going for the walk there will not be many days like this with good weather and clear views. I took a lot of video on the way home over the S&C for a future Ride the Rails
