- Built by Cornelius Vanderbilt II, one of the richest men in America, The Breakers was everything a millionaire of the Gilded Age(A sarcastic term coined by Mark Twain and Charles Dudley Warner)could want in a summer getaway.

This is a family that was covered up how they came from nothing and built a legacy not only for there family but for the USA railroads, Water Ways, Major Cities, City Halls, Capitols churches and many charities. Very nice! I absolutely loved visiting The Breakers! My favorite thing about it is that the Vanderbilts used to refer to it as their "Summer Cottage"! It also looks like you caught a break with little crowds that day. Excellent video!!
Believe it or not that was my first time in Newport. Way different “cottage” than what I’m use to. There were a lot of people from the Mid-Atlantic most of the schools around here were in their last week.
The Breakers is impressive indeed.
