It would be great if more games were as easily modded as Skyrim, which has extended its lifespan considerably due to mods. Unfortunately, ME1 just is too difficult to work with in order to make those quest mods etc. that we would all love. A creation kit would work wonders.

Theres a very hard to see set of arrows in the resolution sub menu. I missed it at first and had to look it up. May no longer be relevant to you but incase others are unaware I'll leave this here Thank you for this tutorial btw
Thanks, Jayson. I haven't played me2 or me3 on pc yet, so I don't know what modding for them is like. Once I get there, and if it's different from this guide, I might make another video.
Woohoo I just got my hands on the mass effect trilogy and this video has helped a ton if you ever make a video for me 2 modding I will highly appreciate it unlocking the console on that one is complicated enough for me as it is 😂😂
ALOT installer says i must install my installed Mass Effect 1 game to install the mods. The ME# Mod Mannager has the same problem. Any idea why? Also, i can't acces the FPS mod interface
I'm having trouble mass effect on origin with mods it wont launch it launches the MEUITM mod but the simple locks in the task bar and wont launch what is wrong
I cant figure out how got the file for ALOT of textures. I extracted the files and dragged it to the manager but it just puts it into User Supplied Files. confused!!!
Thanks a lot, only problem was the controller mod did not work, I followed the steps but nothing happens. Any advice? I know I'm late so I'm not expecting a reply but thanks in advance.
Hey Zachary, 1) Did you run the game once before doing anything else? 2) Did you put the contents of the Config folder (not the folder itself) into Documents/Bioware/Mass Effect/Config ?
Can someone please help? WHen I try to even download the mod i keep getting the blank page icon and can't even open the download. Why is this happening? Please help me!
I would really love to see a mod that would alter Shepard's character model so he would have a meter long neck. Imagine the comedy potential in cutscenes. Why doesn't it exist?
hi, question. after i installed the FPScounter. i started the game and the window with mass effect pictured arrived and then nothing. but i noticed i couldnt click on anything with my mouse. i could change windows with alt tap and ctrl alt delete but as soon as it came to click with my mouse. nothing happened. have you stumbled on this proplem ?
Okay, so it never got to the main menu with fpscounter installed, but was fine on the first startup. That is weird, and I'm sorry to say I haven't seen or heard of that before. Did you use the installer version of fpscounter (.exe) or the .zip? And is it version 3.4.0?
thats alot of mods and that .NET thing i dont know what it is and i dont wanna download it lol, is there a way to get this without so many mods? its been 2 years after all
So I forgot that adding DLC after modding was bad but can I rerun the ALOT installer to correct my mistake? Like the DLC is installed; can I then run the ALOT installer to restore the game? Edit: I got smart and decided to restore the backup that was made and redo the ALOT install process, still wonder about just redoing the install process over itself though
You should have 2 choices when downloading fps counter: .exe file (installer) and .zip file. I recommend downloading the installer so you don't have to worry about where to extract to. In any case, the folder location is shown at 4:51 in this video.
I must be an idiot? I still cannot get the controller mod to work for my ME1 Steam version. Think I'm just gonna wait it out for a sale on my ps4. Thanks for this guide though.
When using FPS Counter my mouse is invisible is that normal? Also I would recommend buying the complete trilogy on Origin. They usually have the entire set on sale.
I don't know, Jarman, I didn't use a mouse on my playthrough. In my video, the mouse pointer reappeared when I hit f12 to bring up the menu. As far as buying on Origin, I learned that lesson a little too late.
ok, video is very helpful, but i have a question, i have a low end pc, but i am able to run the game at medium-low at 8-15 FPS, there is any mod that boost the FPS for the type of pc i have ??
Hello! I followed your tutorial and launched the game and it worked. Until when I closed the program and reopened it again for some reason I get this white screen that makes the game no responsive. Would you recommend anything to solve this issue?
I'm not sure, Mari. Have you tried just trying to install one mod and seeing how that goes? I would install one at a time, run the game, and see how many you can get before it start giving you problems.
Maybe? I'm not sure, but it seems like you might get some conflicts if you do it that way. The safer method would be to install them all with ALOT. The ALOT installer takes MEUITM and other texture into account, but the MEUITM doesn't seem to consider other texture mods.
Upon watching the video again I noticed near the end you pointed out the ALOT interface will allow you to configure some textures just like MEUITM would. I watched your video 4 times and only caught that part on the fourth watch. Perhaps because I was downloading ME1 stuff from Nexus Mod while reading online guides for this and viewing you clip at the same time! So much for multi-tasking. Here is a suggestion, maybe mention in the captions it's possible to configure MEUITM in ALOT at the part of the video where you open up ALOT. That way some folks won't make the mistake of installing the textures first without realizing there's a green configure option. You may think this option is easily noticeable. You'd be surprised by what little things one could miss in all of this, I know I missed it until I got to the last part of your vid on the 4th go around. Appreciate the assistance my good sir. This was the end result of these modders extraordinary content plus your tutorial. th-cam.com/video/VCjICB-t78I/w-d-xo.html A couple of things to note you may find valuable. 1.) ALOT has added more readily available default texture pieces that aren't seen in this video. I know it's a pain in the ass to uninstall the whole game and undergo the mod installs again just for a few pieces here and there. Regardless I thought you should know content was added just incase you decide to dump your game and reinstall the mod with these new materials. 2.) In El's mod you no longer need Anderson's vanilla face in order to repair the seams. She released a new package to fix those seams and it applies to every face she's tweaked AFAIK. You can download it on Nexus Mods in the same location as El's Complexion Tweaks. 3.) Dude, we need to compare notes regarding MEUITM and the Aliens-Aliens mod. It was my understanding that MEUITM included the Aliens+ mod. In fact I'm confident at least some of them are in there because when you look at the videos for MEUITM 2018 Edition it shows screen shots of Salarian and Asari NPC's with the new look. The only thing I did not see in that vid were Krogan and other NPC's, although I know for a fact MEUITM does battle hardened Wrex. I suppose my question would be is every NPC really included in MEUITM '18 or not? Another thing that kind of confused me, there are now 4k textures for Krogan NPC's. By any chance would this too be included in MEUITM or would that need to be downloaded separately? I'm willing to reinstall my crap just for that.
If only there was a comprehensive list of everything MEUITM does not come with. Anyway forgot to mention I added everyone of your suggested textures plus the new Normandy Interior 2K mod. I think the 2k Normandy interior didn't make it to MEUITM. It's in the beginning of that playthrough video I posted. Hard to make out due to Game DVR's shoddy quality but hopefully you'll notice there is some difference.
One of the problems with modding this game - and one of the points of making this video - is that the process to mod the game has changed over time. Which has led to a lot of conflicting, outdated information being out there, so I'm not surprised you found issues. I also won't be surprised if my video becomes outdated in short order as things continue to change. It's kind of surprising that a game this old has had its modders change their ways so much. Anyway let me see if I can comment on your points. -I don't believe it matters if you install MEIUTM first then use ALOT or if you install MEUITM with the ALOT interface. There isn't any overlap in the textures that they mod, so it's just a matter of preference. -As far as the Anderson thing in Ellise's mod, she made a post in the comment section of her mod saying she fixed it, but she didn't update her description of the mod, so I missed that. -While MEUITM does update races, they aren't the same as Alien Aliens. I liked the AA look more, so I went with that. -Finally, I don't think MEUITM covers ALL npcs, just the vast majority of them. You'd have to look at the nexus page for more details, I just don't know the exact details.
Thanks again Zero! I feel like the main inquiry or noted comparison was the NPC one. I'll just have to observe the changes in the Nexus page and see what I am missing out on. Regardless you've been a big help and good video.
I'm not going to be downloading Mass Effect 1 2 and 3 on Steam I'll be downloading it on EA Origin and apparently with the download comes a separate download with all the DLC for the first game second game and third game I hope that I can do that and do the Nexus mods

Yeah I'm a huge Mass Effect guy I'm not going to download all the Mass Effect games without the DLC so I looked on EA Origin luckily you can buy the first game it automatically comes with the DLC and then 2 and 3 come with separately DLC Packs you have to download and buy each one but hey it's worth it
@Sizzil'n sausagebooi for the first mass effect go on google and look up the dlc, as long as you have mass effect one on steam then it should be free. I had to download origin (Ick) to get any dlc from the seond game. Sadly not all dlc is free on the second game.
I know the video is a year old, but I'm just going to throw it out there that you *can* download the Pinnacle Station and Bring Down the Sky DLCs. There's a guide on Steam: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1510025633 If you feel like making another video ;)
Dude, I can't thank you enough for being so direct and concise with your directions; the mods are all working like a charm.
Glad to help, man. Thanks for letting me know.
Jesus Christ, thank you so much for doing this. It took me forever to finally get someone who isn't talking about shitty Andromeda
Glad to help, Nico.
Finally a less complicated mod guide
Thanks dude 👍🏻

Nice!
@@negative_zero
Or you just click on the double arrow next to the last resolution displayed. 😉
Thank you very much for this up to date video, very helpful!
No problem, glad to help.
Late to modes in general, thank you for the great tutorial!
Enjoy!
For the resolution there is a drop down arrow feature to skim down below. Its that hard to see arrow hanging on the right. Or you could just use the arrow keys on your keyboard too.
and it goes to 4k =D
Very helpful for a replay of the game. Thanks for the straight forward instructions!

how do you do this?

Thanks for this babe!!
18:15 euughh! tint filters... Blegh!!
so much for making the game look good XD
Es el mismo proceso para todos los mods? Es que quiero tener el same gender romance en el mass effect pirata
The DLC is included in the Steam version of the game, but it's not in a separate DLC folder for some reason.
My controller still isn't being recognized, but the controller button prompts are there? Did I miss something?
Thanks so much:-) v good video
Thanks for watching, Jack.
Where can I find Anderson's vanilla head mod?
Nevermind. I found it in the description.
Always read the description.
Glad you figured it out.
How do I play the game for pc on origin with the code on it and if I put save on the game and log off and how do I play it again
Hey, for some reason, after installing all the mods, I can't type in my character's name when I make a new character. Any ideas?
Thanks so much !
I downloaded an unzipped folder, tried to extract it and its blank.... I never got an install
Hey, how do you get MEUITM on your desktop to put into ALOT?
I just downloaded it from the nexus, Jeff. You can download it to wherever you want on your pc. I just picked the desktop.
Woohoo I just got my hands on the mass effect trilogy and this video has helped a ton if you ever make a video for me 2 modding I will highly appreciate it unlocking the console on that one is complicated enough for me as it is 😂😂
Happy to help, Larry.
what about the in file mods???
does this work even if you have game progress? i really dont wanna lose my progress (around 50 hours gameplay) but i really want these mods
Maybe? Not sure, K. But with 50 hours you must almost be done, right?
