Marine Boilers Lecture # 37 (Steam Pipes)

This tutorial describes about the materials used for steam pipes, methods of their attachment and providing the necessary allowance for their expansion and contraction. This also describes the causes and effect of water hammer in steam pipes and method of preventing this by draining the steam pipes and warming them up before putting in service.
