Great… just fyi… Sukuma wiki is Collard Green
Hello, great video.
I'm curios, how do you topdress for higher and bigger leaves results.
You dilute in a solution and pour from the top
@@KitchenGardenn This is helpful, thank you!
Whilch sukuma wiki variety did you plant??
Collards
Nice. Good method.
But you can also put a pvc pipe in the middle with gravel. The pvc pipe must have holes in the side.
1First you put some sand mixed with compost in the bag as a base.
2 Then you place your pipe( wich you have allready made holes in it on the side)in the middle of the bag
3 Fill the pipe with gravel.
4 You than fill the bag around the pipe with this same sand mixed with compost. One part of dry manure with one part of fertile soil ( or soil and compost mixture)
5 Make holes in the bag with a stick or your finger
6 Start planting your small veggie plants
7 Water
8 When required :
fertilize especially with organic liquid ferlilizers ( you can make from urine, chickenpoop, cowdung etc). Rabbit urine is also a very good fertilizer but it needs to be watered down with the right amount of water.p.s there are different methods. Sometimes the pvc is also only used to put gravel in the bag . And the pvc is removed. You fill the bags partially and bring the pvc up and fill that part while you role up the sack everytime.Untill the bag is full. And the pvc pipe removed.
love detailed explanation. am going to try it
Good
This is perfectly 👍 good. Well explained. I always knew u come up with the pvc as u fill ur soil on the sack n then stones/gravel in the middle. I wonder how the bottom plants get water
please what is manure?
what is PVC
Do you use own planted seeds or you buy which one is the best.and how long does the seedling takes to be ready ,have planted mine from 15 June not yet ready
One month you should be harvesting
Just buy seeds
Could you do a step to step guide
So when watering do you just pour into middle bucket
Yes, but you have to put gravels in the middle.
Zuch
Is there any disadvantage of this kind of planting sukuma
yeah, primary disadvantage is just overwatering which can lead to root rot. In addition it depend with the bags you have used if they are non breathable which can worsen the situation 😉👌
Those are seedlings?
Yes

Okay, kwako ni wapi?
how and what type of soil mixture do I need to mix
Just use available soil and mix it with manure.
@@KitchenGardenn okay thank you but I don't know the meaning of manure.
@@zulaihatnasir3056 manure can be anything that has decomposed from either cow dung, chicken dropping, sheep etc
@@KitchenGardenn what if a put a little bit of ashes? thank you for your reply and watching and writing from Nigeria
@@zulaihatnasir3056 their is no problem, however we add manure because of nutrients. Ash may not have enough nutrients to support the plant unless you will be adding synthetic fertilizer like DAP.
Wats the use of that middle bucket
For pouring water.
Its good you rewatch the video, then you will understand better.
Mchanga unamix na nini
some manure
@@KitchenGardenn gani kindly
Yeyote but not fresh manure. ya kuku ngombe ama kondoo
@@KitchenGardenn thank u
So I can't use bought fertiliser?
T
Collard greens(collards) = sukuma wiki
Yes the same thing. The East African call it Sukuma wiki.
How do you mantain that gunia to stand firm, coz mine bends
Ensure the place where its standing is level and in the middle add some gravels to make water flow down easily.
